The time I want to talk about was last August, when I was extremely busy for about two weeks.

I was busy because two big things happened at the same time. My studio had a tight deadline for a café app we were building for a client, and at the same time my close friend Trang was getting married and asked me to help her plan the wedding. I said yes before I checked my work schedule, which was not very smart.

To deal with the situation, I made a simple list every morning of what had to be done that day. I worked extra hours at the studio, sometimes until nine or ten at night, and used my lunch breaks to call shops about flowers and food for the wedding. I also asked a colleague to help check some of my design work so I could save time. On weekends I stopped doing almost everything else, even my usual morning runs at My Khe Beach.

How I felt was mixed. During those two weeks I felt tired but also quite focused, like I didn't have time to worry about small things. After the wedding was over and the app was finally launched, I felt relieved but also very sleepy for days. I told myself never to promise two big things in the same month again.

For the leaving party, I kept things deliberately simple, just food and music in the office rather than anything elaborate, so it wouldn't take up too much of my time.

How I felt about it was genuinely mixed. During those two weeks I felt constantly tired but somehow more focused than usual, almost like being busy forced me to stop overthinking every small decision. Once everything was finished, though, I felt completely drained for almost a week afterwards, which made me realise I probably need to say no to things more often in future.
