  • What you do there
  • Who you go there with
  • And explain why you enjoy spending time in nature in this place.

The description moves through the visit in plain, sequential sentences ('I usually climb up the stone steps slowly and stop at a few viewpoints on the way') and closes with a simple statement of feeling, correct and clear but not especially varied.这段描述用平实、按顺序展开的句子讲述了整个行程("我通常会慢慢爬上石阶,途中在几个观景点停留"),并以一句简单的感受陈述收尾,正确清楚,但缺少变化。

One outdoor place I like to visit is the Marble Mountains, which is about twenty minutes from my apartment by motorbike. It is a group of small mountains with caves and pagodas inside, and there are also many trees and gardens around the paths, so it still feels like nature even though it is close to the city.

I do not go there every week, maybe just once a month, usually on a Sunday morning when I have free time. I usually climb up the stone steps slowly and stop at a few viewpoints on the way. From the top, I can see the whole coastline and My Khe Beach in the distance, which is really beautiful. Sometimes I bring my camera and take some photos of the view and the old pagodas.

The main reason I go there is to relax. My job as a UI designer keeps me in front of a screen most of the day, so climbing up in the fresh air and looking at green trees and the sea really helps me clear my mind. It is quiet compared to the city centre, and I always feel more peaceful after I go there.

  • GRAit still feels like nature even though it is close to the cityThe concessive clause "even though it is close to the city" is used accurately to make a simple contrast, but it's the most basic way of expressing that idea — a single subordinating conjunction joining two straightforward clauses, without any further embedding or variation. This is consistent with the 6.5 tier's expectation of "mostly simple sentences plus a few basic complex ones"; a 7.0 answer expressing the same contrast might instead use a more varied structure, such as "despite being so close to the city, it manages to feel genuinely wild." The idea itself is clearly and correctly expressed, which is what matters most at this level.让步从句“even though it is close to the city”被准确地用来制造一个简单的对比,但这是表达这个意思最基本的方式——一个单一的从属连词连接两个直白的分句,没有进一步的嵌套或变化。这与 6.5 档次“mostly simple sentences plus a few basic complex ones”(大多为简单句,外加少量基本复杂句)的期待是一致的;Band 7.0 的答案在表达同样的对比时,可能会用一个更多样的结构,比如“despite being so close to the city, it manages to feel genuinely wild”。这个想法本身表达得清楚、准确,而这正是这个level最看重的东西。
  • LRI usually climb up the stone steps slowly and stop at a few viewpoints on the way. This narrates the routine using entirely plain, everyday vocabulary — "climb," "stone steps," "stop," "viewpoints" — with no attempt at more descriptive or varied word choices, which is exactly the clear, functional language the 6.5 tier targets. A 7.0 answer describing the same walk might reach for a slightly more flexible phrase, such as "pausing every so often to take in the view," but here the sentence simply reports the sequence of actions directly. The two actions are joined with a plain "and," reflecting the simple sentence-joining typical of this band.
  • FCI always feel more peaceful after I go there. This short, direct closing sentence wraps up the answer by stating the overall effect plainly, without adding a further reflective comment on why the peacefulness matters or how it compares to other parts of the speaker's life. That direct, unelaborated ending is sufficient for the 6.5 tier's Fluency and Coherence expectations, a clear, on-topic close, but it stops short of the evaluative depth a 7.0 or 7.5 answer would add at the same point, such as connecting the peacefulness back to the stress of work mentioned earlier in more detail.

The comparative clause 'It's less well known than the main beaches... so it usually stays fairly quiet' and the natural collocation 'lose track of time' show accurate, flexible language that develops the description without the sensory density of the higher band.比较从句"它没有市区主要海滩那么出名……所以通常相当清静"以及自然搭配"忘了时间",都体现出准确而灵活的语言,能够展开描述,但还没有达到更高分段那种感官细节的密度。

The outdoor place I go to for nature is a rocky stretch of coastline near Nam O, on the northern edge of Da Nang, about a twenty-five-minute drive from where I live. It's less well known than the main beaches in the city, so it usually stays fairly quiet, even on weekends.

I try to go there once every couple of weeks, usually early on a Sunday before the sun gets too strong. I like to walk along the rocks rather than swim, actually, and I always end up at the same flat rock where I can sit and look out at the sea for a while. Sometimes I bring a small notebook and just sketch whatever I see, whether it's the shape of the rocks or the fishing boats coming back in. If the tide is low, I'll wander around the little pools between the rocks, which are full of tiny crabs and shells, and I can easily lose track of time doing that.

The main reason I keep going back is that it's completely different from my usual routine. I spend most of my working week staring at a screen, so being somewhere with just the sound of the waves and no notifications going off helps me switch my brain off, in a way. It's not as dramatic as somewhere like Son Tra Peninsula, but for me, the quietness is exactly the point. I always feel a bit calmer on the ride home afterwards.

  • GRAIt's less well known than the main beaches in the city, so it usually stays fairly quiet, even on weekends. This combines a comparative clause ("less well known than the main beaches") with a result clause introduced by "so," and then adds a concessive tag ("even on weekends") — three grammatical elements working together in one accurate sentence. That comfortable mix of comparison and result, staying fully accurate, is exactly the 7.0 tier's grammar target; a 6.5 answer would more likely state the two facts, quiet and less known, as separate simple sentences without linking them causally. The concessive "even on weekends" also adds a small extra layer of precision, anticipating and answering an obvious follow-up question.
  • LRI can easily lose track of time doing that"Lose track of time" is a natural, everyday collocation for becoming absorbed in an activity — more flexible and slightly idiomatic-adjacent than a plain phrase like "I spend a long time doing it," but still common enough not to sound showy. This is the 7.0 lexical profile precisely: everyday vocabulary used with slightly more flexibility than the most basic phrasing, which a 6.5 answer would default to. The phrase also captures genuine absorption in the activity, looking at rock pools, giving the description more authenticity than a flat statement of duration would."Lose track of time"是一个自然的日常搭配,用来形容沉浸在某项活动中——比"I spend a long time doing it"这种平白的说法更灵活、略带惯用语色彩,但又足够常见,不会显得刻意炫技。这正是 Band 7.0 的词汇画像:日常词汇的使用比 Band 6.5 会默认使用的最基础表达方式稍微多一点灵活性。这个短语还捕捉到了对这项活动——观察岩石水洼——真正的投入感,比单纯陈述时长更显真实。
  • FChelps me switch my brain off, in a way"Switch my brain off" is a natural, informal collocation for mental relaxation, and the trailing hedge "in a way" softens the claim, both features of genuinely natural, unscripted spoken English rather than a formally structured statement. This kind of natural hedging and informal phrasing is exactly what the 7.0 tier means by sounding "fluent and natural without sounding formal or rehearsed"; a 6.5 answer would more likely state the effect plainly, such as "it helps me relax." The hedge also fits the reflective, slightly tentative tone of the whole closing paragraph, which weighs the place against more dramatic alternatives like Son Tra."Switch my brain off"是一个自然、口语化的搭配,用来形容精神放松,而后面加的缓冲语"in a way"又软化了这个说法——这两点都是真正自然、未经排练的口语英语的特征,而不是正式结构化的陈述。这种自然的缓冲语和口语化措辞,正是 Band 7.0 层级所说的"流利自然、不显正式或刻意背诵";Band 6.5 的答案更可能直白地陈述效果,比如"it helps me relax."这个缓冲语也贴合了整个结尾段落那种反思性、略带试探的语气——正在把这个地方与像山茶半岛这样更具戏剧性的选择做权衡。
7.5 分

The cleft opening 'What I usually do is...' and the run of sensory details ('the sea breeze, the sound of leaves, the smell of damp earth after rain') mark the more sophisticated grammatical and lexical range of Band 7.5.以强调句"What I usually do is..."(我通常会做的是……)开头,并连用一串感官细节("海风、树叶的声音、雨后泥土的气味"),都体现出Band 7.5在语法和词汇上更为精巧的水准。

One outdoor place where I really enjoy spending time in nature is the Son Tra Peninsula, which is about a twenty-minute motorbike ride from my apartment in Da Nang. It's actually one of my favourite spots in the city for escaping the usual crowds and noise. The peninsula is covered with lush green forest and has winding roads that offer great views of the coastline and the city skyline.

I try to visit Son Tra maybe once or twice a month, usually on Sunday mornings when the weather is clear. I'll leave early, around 6:30am, to beat the heat and the tourist traffic. What I usually do is park my motorbike near Linh Ung Pagoda and then walk one of the smaller trails through the forest. Sometimes I'll hear monkeys chattering in the trees, which always makes the place feel a bit magical. I like to just slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and take some photos or sketch ideas for work. I've even spotted a red-shanked douc langur once, which was amazing because they're quite rare.

The main reason I go to Son Tra is that it's the one place in Da Nang where I feel completely disconnected from screens and notifications. The natural scenery - the sea breeze, the sound of leaves, the smell of damp earth after rain - helps me relax and reset, especially after stressful weeks at work. Compared to my usual routine by the Han River or My Khe Beach, the forest on Son Tra feels wilder and more peaceful. It's honestly the best place for me to clear my head and get inspired by nature.

  • GRAWhat I usually do is park my motorbike near Linh Ung Pagoda and then walk one of the smaller trails through the forest. The cleft structure "What I usually do is..." foregrounds the routine as the topic of the sentence before naming the actual actions, a more deliberate and less common way to open a description than the plain subject-first alternative "I usually park my motorbike... and then walk..." a 7.0 answer would default to. This kind of cleft construction is specifically named in the 7.5 tier's grammar descriptor ("relative clauses, conditionals, a cleft sentence"), making it a textbook example of the range expected at this level. It also gives the routine a slightly more considered, explained quality, as if the speaker is walking the listener through a deliberate ritual rather than just listing actions.分裂句结构"What I usually do is..."把这个日常习惯前置为句子的主题,然后才点出具体动作,这是一种比 Band 7.0 答案会默认使用的主语在前的平白说法"I usually park my motorbike... and then walk..."更刻意、也更不常见的开场方式。这类分裂句结构正是 Band 7.5 语法评分标准点名提到的("relative clauses, conditionals, a cleft sentence"),使它成为该级别所期望范围的一个教科书式例子。它还让这个日常习惯多了一点经过思量、加以解释的质感,仿佛说话者正在带着听者走一遍一套刻意的仪式,而不只是罗列动作。
  • LRthe sea breeze, the sound of leaves, the smell of damp earth after rainThis tricolon lists three distinct sensory details, touch, sound, and smell, each phrased precisely rather than lumped together as a vague "the nature there," showing a wider, more selective vocabulary than a plainer answer would use. Building a three-part sensory list like this is exactly the kind of controlled, precise vocabulary use the 7.5 tier rewards; a 7.0 answer would more likely mention one or two general sensory impressions rather than three specific, parallel details. The rhythm of the list itself, breeze, sound, smell, also reads as more polished and considered than a simple string of adjectives would.
  • FCIt's honestly the best place for me to clear my head and get inspired by nature. This reflective final sentence gives the answer an evaluative close, summarising the whole experience into a personal judgement rather than ending on the last piece of description just before it. Closing on this kind of considered, summarising evaluation, rather than simply stopping after the last fact, is the coherence move the 7.5 tier rewards over plain description; a 7.0 answer would more likely end on a more literal statement, such as "I always feel relaxed after I go there." The intensifier "honestly" also signals genuine, unscripted conviction rather than a rehearsed closing line.这个反思性的结尾句给整个答案画上了一个评价性的句号,把整段经历浓缩成一个个人判断,而不是停在它前面那段描述上。以这种经过思考、带总结性的评价来收尾,而不是在最后一个事实之后戛然而止,正是 Band 7.5 层级看重、优于单纯描述的连贯性手法;Band 7.0 的答案更可能以一句更字面的话收尾,比如"I always feel relaxed after I go there."强调词"honestly"也传达出一种真实、未经排练的信念,而不是背好的结束语。

    6.5 分

The 6.5 answer gives a direct list of places with a simple reason for each, using plain connectors like 'and' and 'so' to move between points.6.5的答案直接列出了几个地方,并为每一个给出一个简单的理由,用 'and' 和 'so' 这样平实的连接词在各点之间过渡。

Parks and beaches are probably the most common places. People like parks because they are close and easy to reach, so you don't need a car. Beaches are popular too, and My Khe Beach here gets busy with joggers every weekend. Some people also go further, like to Son Tra, which has forest trails not far from the city. Other people just use a small garden if they don't have much time. So really, any green or open space works for people.

    公园和海滩大概是最常见的地方。人们喜欢公园,因为它们离得近、容易到达,所以不需要开车。海滩也很受欢迎,这里的美溪海滩每个周末都挤满了跑步的人。有些人还会走得更远,比如去山茶(Son Tra),那里有离市区不远的森林步道。如果时间不多,其他人就只是用一个小花园。所以说到底,任何绿地或开阔空间对人们来说都管用。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCSo really, any green or open space works for people.A short, plain closing sentence that simply restates the point rather than developing it further. A 7.5 answer would round off with a more reflective or evaluative remark instead of a flat summary.一句简短、平实的结尾句,只是重述了这一点,而没有进一步展开。7.5的答案会用更具反思性或评价性的话来收尾,而不是平铺直叙的总结。
    • LRclose and easy to reachTwo very common adjectives strung together instead of a single precise collocation. A higher band would likely reach for something like 'within easy reach' or 'accessible', which packs the same meaning into fewer, less ordinary words.两个非常常见的形容词串联在一起,而不是用一个精确的搭配。更高分数段很可能会用像 'within easy reach' 或 'accessible' 这样的表达,用更少、更不寻常的词传达同样的意思。
    • GRAso you don't need a carA simple result clause joined with 'so', which is grammatically correct but very basic. A 7.0 or 7.5 answer would more likely embed this idea inside a longer clause, such as a reason introduced by 'because' or a non-finite construction.一个用 'so' 连接的简单结果从句,语法正确但非常基础。7.0或7.5的答案更可能会把这个想法嵌入到一个更长的分句里,比如用 'because' 引出的理由,或者一个非限定结构。
    7.0 分

The 7.0 answer opens with a spoken hedge ('Honestly, it varies') and includes one longer, more complex sentence about Son Tra, showing more natural reflection than the 6.5 version.7.0的答案以口语化的缓和语('Honestly, it varies')开头,并包含了一句关于山茶半岛更长、更复杂的句子,比6.5版本展现出更自然的反思感。

Honestly, it varies quite a lot depending on how much time people have. Parks and riversides tend to be the go-to option in cities, mainly because they're so accessible without needing a car. Beaches are hugely popular here as well, My Khe gets crowded with joggers most weekend mornings. For those willing to travel a bit further, places like Son Tra Peninsula offer proper forest trails just twenty minutes from downtown, which I'd say gives a completely different kind of nature experience. To be fair, even a rooftop garden counts when time is tight, so it really comes down to whatever greenery is within reach.

    • FCHonestly, it varies quite a lot depending on how much time people have.A natural spoken opener that hedges the answer before giving specifics, showing awareness that the topic isn't a single fixed answer. A 6.5 response would more likely jump straight to a flat statement without this kind of framing.一个自然的口语化开头,在给出具体内容之前先给答案加了缓和语,展现出对这个话题没有唯一固定答案的意识。6.5的回答更可能会直接跳到一个平铺直叙的陈述,没有这种框架。
    • LRgo-to optionA mild, natural collocation that is more idiomatic than simply saying 'common choice'. It's not yet as distinctive as the 7.5 band's vocabulary, but it shows more flexible word choice than the plainest possible phrasing.一个温和、自然的搭配,比单纯说 'common choice' 更地道。它还没有7.5分数段的词汇那么有特色,但展现出比最平实的表达更灵活的用词。
    • GRAwhich I'd say gives a completely different kind of nature experienceA non-defining relative clause attached to the previous sentence, adding a personal evaluation without starting a new sentence. This kind of clause-linking is more complex than the short, separate sentences typical of the 6.5 answer.一个非限定性关系从句附加在前一句上,在不另起一句的情况下加入了个人评价。这种分句连接方式,比6.5答案典型的简短独立句子更复杂。
    7.5 分

The 7.5 answer uses a fronted evaluative closing clause ('What strikes me, though...') and a less common word like 'footfall', giving it more compact, idiomatic phrasing than the 7.0 version.7.5的答案用了一个前置的评价性结尾分句('What strikes me, though...'),以及像 'footfall' 这样不太常见的词,比7.0版本的措辞更紧凑、更地道。

Parks and riversides are probably the default choice, largely because they're within easy reach for city-dwellers who'd rather not deal with a car. Beaches see plenty of footfall too; My Khe, for instance, fills up with joggers and swimmers every weekend morning without fail. Those craving something wilder tend to head out to mountains or nature reserves, Son Tra Peninsula near me boasts proper forest trails a mere twenty minutes from downtown. Others, pressed for time, settle for smaller fixes: a garden, or even a rooftop dotted with plants. What strikes me, though, is that the common thread isn't any particular landscape at all, but simply greenery and open space, however modest.

    • LRBeaches see plenty of footfall tooThe word 'footfall' is a genuinely less common noun choice for describing visitor numbers, more precise and idiomatic than simply saying 'beaches are popular'. A 6.5 or 7.0 answer would almost certainly stick to the plainer 'popular' or 'busy'.'footfall' 是一个真正少见的名词选择,用来描述访客人数,比单纯说 'beaches are popular' 更精确、更地道。6.5或7.0的答案几乎肯定会坚持使用更平实的 'popular' 或 'busy'。
    • GRAWhat strikes me, though, is that the common thread isn't any particular landscape at all, but simply greenery and open space, however modest.A fronted cleft structure ('What strikes me... is that...') combined with a contrastive 'not X but Y' pattern, which is far more compact and flexible than the simple subject-verb-object sentences used at 6.5. This kind of grammar signals control over more sophisticated sentence architecture.一个前置的分裂句结构('What strikes me... is that...')结合了对比性的 'not X but Y' 模式,比6.5中使用的简单主谓宾句子紧凑、灵活得多。这种语法展现出对更精妙的句子架构的掌控。
    • FCOthers, pressed for time, settle for smaller fixesA participial phrase ('pressed for time') is inserted mid-sentence instead of being expanded into a full clause like 'who don't have much time'. This compression is typical of higher-band fluency, where ideas are packed efficiently rather than spelled out step by step.一个分词短语('pressed for time')被插入到句子中间,而不是被展开成一个完整的从句,比如 'who don't have much time'。这种压缩是更高分数段流利度的典型特征,想法被高效地打包,而不是一步步拼写出来。

    6.5 分

The 6.5 answer gives a direct 'no' opinion followed by one plain reason about being busy and phones, linked with simple connectors like 'so' and 'because'.6.5的答案给出了一个直接的不这一观点,随后是一个关于忙碌和手机的平实理由,用 'so' 和 'because' 这样简单的连接词连接。

No, I don't think so, and that includes me sometimes. People are busy with work and spend a lot of time on their phones, so there isn't much time left for going outside. Living in a city makes it worse too, because you have to plan a trip just to see some nature. I usually run at My Khe Beach on weekends, but in a busy week that can be the only time I go outside at all. So overall, I think most people don't get enough nature time.

    查看中文翻译

    不,我不这么认为,有时候我自己也是如此。人们忙于工作,又花很多时间在手机上,所以没剩下多少时间出门。住在城市里也让情况更糟,因为你得专门计划一趟出行才能看到一点自然景色。我通常在周末去美溪海滩跑步,但在忙碌的一周里,那可能是我唯一一次出门的机会。所以总的来说,我觉得大多数人接触自然的时间都不够。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCNo, I don't think so, and that includes me sometimes.A short, direct opinion statement placed right at the start, which is typical of the 6.5 band's straightforward, unadorned coherence. A 7.0 answer would more likely soften this with a spoken hedge like 'honestly' before the opinion.一个简短、直接的观点陈述被放在开头,这是6.5分数段那种直白、不加修饰的连贯性的典型特征。7.0的答案更可能会在观点之前用像 'honestly' 这样的口语化缓和语来软化它。
    • LRspend a lot of time on their phonesA plain, everyday phrase rather than a more precise collocation such as 'screen time'. It communicates the idea clearly but without the slightly more compact vocabulary a higher band would reach for.一个平实、日常的短语,而不是像 'screen time' 这样更精确的搭配。它清晰地传达了意思,但没有更高分数段会使用的那种稍微更紧凑的词汇。
    • GRAbecause you have to plan a trip just to see some natureA simple 'because' clause tacked onto the main sentence, grammatically accurate but structurally basic. A 7.5 answer would be more likely to compress this into a reduced clause or a more idiomatic phrase like 'plan a trip for' embedded mid-sentence.一个简单的 'because' 从句附加在主句上,语法准确但结构基础。7.5的答案更可能会把它压缩成一个简化从句,或者像 'plan a trip for' 这样嵌在句中的更地道的短语。

The 7.0 answer softens the opinion with 'Honestly, I don't think... myself included', and closes with the natural hedge 'to be fair', showing mild reflection beyond a flat statement.7.0的答案用 'Honestly, I don't think... myself included' 软化了观点,并以自然的缓和语 'to be fair' 收尾,展现出超越平铺直叙陈述的轻微反思。

Honestly, I don't think most people do, myself included on some weeks. Work schedules and screen time eat into the hours that might otherwise go toward a walk outside, and city living makes nature feel like something you have to plan for rather than stumble into. I try to run along My Khe Beach on weekends, but if it's a particularly busy week, that can easily end up being the only real outdoor time I get. I'd say we've drifted away from it more than we realise, to be fair.

    说实话,我不认为大多数人有,有些周我自己也包括在内。工作日程和屏幕时间侵占了本可以用来去户外散步的时间,而城市生活让接触自然感觉像是一件需要专门计划的事,而不是偶然遇到的事。我尽量周末沿着美溪海滩跑步,但如果那一周特别忙,那很容易就成了我唯一真正在户外的时间。平心而论,我想说,我们其实已经渐渐远离自然了,比我们自己意识到的还要远。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCHonestly, I don't think most people do, myself included on some weeks. The spoken connector 'Honestly' combined with the self-aware add-on 'myself included' shows a touch of natural reflection that a 6.5 answer's flatter 'No, I don't think so' lacks.口语化连接词 'Honestly' 结合自我意识的附加语 'myself included',展现出一丝自然的反思,这是6.5答案中更平淡的 'No, I don't think so' 所缺少的。
    • LReat into the hoursA mild, natural collocation meaning 'reduce' or 'use up', more idiomatic than the plain 'spend a lot of time on'. It's a modest step up in precision without being a rare or unusual word choice.一个温和、自然的搭配,意思是减少或耗尽,比平实的 'spend a lot of time on' 更地道。这在精确度上是一个适度的提升,而不是一个罕见或不寻常的用词。
    • GRAbut if it's a particularly busy week, that can easily end up being the only real outdoor time I getA conditional clause ('if it's a particularly busy week') is embedded within a longer sentence, which is more grammatically complex than the short, separate sentences used at 6.5. This shows control of conditional structures within natural speech.一个条件从句('if it's a particularly busy week')被嵌入到一个更长的句子里,这比6.5中使用的简短独立句子在语法上更复杂。这展现出在自然口语中运用条件结构的能力。
    7.5 分

The 7.5 answer uses a longer comparative clause about the parents' generation in Hue and the more vivid verb 'chip away', giving it more compact, evaluative phrasing than the 7.0 version.7.5的答案用了一个关于顺化父母那一代人的更长比较从句,以及更生动的动词 'chip away',比7.0版本的措辞更紧凑、更具评价性。

Honestly, I don't think most people do, myself included some weeks. Work schedules and screen time chip away at the hours that might otherwise go toward a walk outside, and city living in particular makes nature feel like something you have to schedule in rather than stumble into naturally. I try to run along My Khe Beach on weekends, but during a punishing work week, that can easily be the only real outdoor time I get. Compared with my parents' generation in Hue, who spent far more time outdoors simply as part of daily rural life, people my age in cities have genuinely drifted away from it. Noticing that gap is partly why I still make time for it, even on hectic weeks.

    • LRchip away at the hoursA vivid, slightly idiomatic verb phrase for gradual erosion, a genuinely less common choice than simply saying 'take up' or 'reduce'. It shows more precise lexical control than the 7.0 band's already-decent 'eat into'.一个生动、略带习语色彩的动词短语,用来表达逐渐侵蚀,比单纯说 'take up' 或 'reduce' 是一个真正更少见的选择。它展现出比7.0分数段已经相当不错的 'eat into' 更精确的词汇把控力。
    • GRACompared with my parents' generation in Hue, who spent far more time outdoors simply as part of daily rural life, people my age in cities have genuinely drifted away from it.A fronted comparative clause containing an embedded non-defining relative clause, all packed into a single flexible sentence. This is considerably more compact than how the same comparison would likely be split into two or three shorter sentences at 6.5.一个前置的比较从句里嵌入了一个非限定性关系从句,全部打包进一个灵活的单句里。这比6.5中同样的比较很可能被拆成两三个较短句子的方式紧凑得多。
    • FCduring a punishing work weekThe adjective 'punishing' applied to a work week is a slightly idiomatic, evaluative touch rather than the plainer 'busy' used at 6.5. It adds a small vivid flourish typical of the top band without becoming overly formal.形容词 'punishing' 用来形容一周的工作,是一处略带习语色彩、评价性的点缀,而不是6.5中使用的更平淡的 'busy'。它增添了一处顶尖分数段典型的生动色彩,同时又不会显得过于正式。

The 6.5 answer states a direct 'yes' position with one clear reason about mental health, followed by a brief personal example about the Han River, all linked with simple connectors.6.5的答案陈述了一个直接的是的立场,配上一个关于心理健康的清晰理由,随后是一个关于汉江的简短个人例子,全部用简单的连接词连接。

Yes, definitely. I think every city needs green spaces because it is good for people's mental health, and not everyone can travel outside the city easily. Da Nang does this quite well, with riverside walks and a beach near most areas. I always feel better after a short walk along the Han River in the evening. So I believe cities without enough green space can make people feel stressed and closed in.

    是的,当然。我觉得每个城市都需要绿地,因为这对人们的心理健康有好处,而且不是每个人都能轻松出城旅行。岘港在这方面做得相当不错,大多数区域附近都有河滨步道和海滩。傍晚沿着汉江散一小段步之后,我总是感觉更好。所以我相信,没有足够绿地的城市会让人感到压力大、被封闭起来。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCYes, definitely.A very short, direct opening that states the position with no hedging at all. A 7.0 answer would typically expand this into a fuller opening clause rather than leaving it as a two-word sentence.一个非常简短、直接的开头,完全没有缓和语地陈述了立场。7.0的答案通常会把它扩展成一个更完整的开头分句,而不是让它停留在一个两个词的句子里。
    • LRgood for people's mental healthA plain, everyday phrase for describing a benefit, rather than a more precise verb like 'affects' or a collocation like 'noticeably affects mental health'. It gets the meaning across but stays at the most basic level of word choice.一个平实、日常的短语,用来描述好处,而不是像 'affects' 这样更精确的动词,或者像 'noticeably affects mental health' 这样的搭配。它传达了意思,但停留在最基础的用词层面。
    • GRASo I believe cities without enough green space can make people feel stressed and closed in.A simple 'so' connector introduces the closing sentence, and the clause structure stays close to basic subject-verb-object order. A 7.5 answer would more likely compress this into a single flexible sentence built around a participial or relative clause.一个简单的 'so' 连接词引出了结尾句,分句结构基本上保持着基础的主谓宾语序。7.5的答案更可能会把它压缩成一个围绕分词或关系从句构建的灵活单句。
    7.0 分

The 7.0 answer adds the qualifying phrase 'reasonably well, actually' and the spoken hedge 'to be fair' in its closing sentence, showing mild reflection beyond the flat 6.5 stance.7.0的答案加入了限定性短语 'reasonably well, actually',并在结尾句中用了口语化缓和语 'to be fair',展现出超越6.5平铺直叙立场的轻微反思。

Definitely, yes, I'd say it should almost be a basic requirement in city planning rather than an optional extra. Green space clearly affects people's mental health, and not everyone can afford to travel out of the city for a proper nature fix regularly. Da Nang does this reasonably well, actually, with riverside walkways and the beach both within easy reach of most neighbourhoods, and I notice a real difference in my own mood after even a short walk along the Han River in the evening. Cities that skip this, to be fair, risk making residents feel boxed in.

    • FCCities that skip this, to be fair, risk making residents feel boxed in.The spoken hedge 'to be fair' is inserted mid-sentence as a qualifying aside, which is a natural feature of fluent spoken English. A 6.5 answer would be unlikely to interrupt a sentence this way, tending instead toward straightforward, uninterrupted clauses.口语化缓和语 'to be fair' 被插入到句子中间,作为一个限定性的旁白,这是流利口语英语的自然特征。6.5的答案不太可能这样打断句子,而是倾向于使用直接、不被打断的分句。
    • LRa proper nature fixA mildly idiomatic, informal collocation for a satisfying dose of nature, more natural and specific than the plain phrasing a 6.5 answer would use, such as simply 'see some nature'.一个略带习语色彩、非正式的搭配,用来表达令人满足的一剂自然,比6.5答案会使用的平实表达(比如简单的 'see some nature')更自然、更具体。
    • GRAwith riverside walkways and the beach both within easy reach of most neighbourhoodsA reduced clause built around 'both within easy reach of', attached to the main sentence rather than expressed as a separate 'and there are also...' sentence. This kind of clause-combining is more complex than the short, separate sentences typical of 6.5.一个围绕 'both within easy reach of' 构建的简化从句,附加在主句上,而不是表达成一个独立的 'and there are also...' 句子。这种分句合并方式比6.5典型的简短独立句子更复杂。
    7.5 分

The 7.5 answer closes with a compact, evaluative clause about cities risking 'leaving residents feeling permanently hemmed in', using a less common word ('hemmed in') and a longer flexible sentence than the 7.0 version.7.5的答案以一个紧凑、评价性的分句收尾,谈到城市可能让居民感到永久性地被困住,用了一个不太常见的词('hemmed in')和一个比7.0版本更长、更灵活的句子。

Definitely, yes, I think it should almost be a basic requirement in city planning rather than an optional extra. Green space affects people's mental health noticeably, and not everyone can afford to travel out of the city for a proper nature fix regularly. Da Nang does this reasonably well, actually, with riverside walkways and the beach both within easy reach of most neighbourhoods, and I notice a real difference in my own mood after even a short walk along the Han River in the evening. Cities that grow too densely without preserving any green space risk leaving residents feeling permanently hemmed in, which affects wellbeing far more than people initially expect.

    为什么是这个分数

    • LRrisk leaving residents feeling permanently hemmed inThe phrase 'hemmed in' is a genuinely less common, vivid collocation for feeling trapped, more precise and idiomatic than the plainer 'boxed in' used at 7.0 or 'closed in' used at 6.5. It's the kind of word choice that signals a wider active vocabulary.短语 'hemmed in' 是一个真正少见、生动的搭配,用来表达被困住的感觉,比7.0中使用的更平淡的 'boxed in' 或6.5的 'closed in' 更精确、更地道。这种用词选择标志着更广的主动词汇量。
    • GRACities that grow too densely without preserving any green space risk leaving residents feeling permanently hemmed in, which affects wellbeing far more than people initially expect.A single long sentence built from a conditional-like subject clause plus a non-defining relative clause tacked onto the end, all without a full stop. A 6.5 or 7.0 answer would likely split this into two shorter, separate sentences instead.一个由类似条件句的主语从句,加上附加在末尾的非限定性关系从句构成的长句,全程没有句号。6.5或7.0的答案很可能会把它拆成两个较短的独立句子。

Yes, I think so, at least for me. A stressful day at the studio feels much better after I go for a run along the beach, because my thoughts slow down instead of racing around. The sound of waves and wind seems to make me calmer than staying at home on my phone. I know this is linked to lower stress levels, but honestly you don't need science to notice it, most people just feel better after some time outdoors.

    是的,我这么认为,至少对我来说是这样。忙碌紧张的一天在工作室结束后,只要我沿着海滩跑一圈,感觉就会好很多,因为我的思绪会慢下来,而不是乱转个不停。海浪声和风声似乎比待在家里刷手机更能让我平静下来。我知道这和降低压力水平有关,但说实话,你根本不需要科学依据就能注意到这一点,大多数人在户外待一段时间之后就是会感觉更好。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCYes, I think so, at least for me.A short, direct opening giving the position immediately with minimal hedging. A 7.0 answer would more typically open with a spoken qualifier like 'Definitely, at least in my own experience' to sound more naturally reflective.一个简短、直接的开头,立刻给出了立场,几乎没有缓和语。7.0的答案通常会用像 'Definitely, at least in my own experience' 这样口语化的限定语开头,听起来更自然、更具反思性。
    • LRfeels much betterA very plain, general phrase for describing improvement, rather than a more vivid or precise description of the change. Higher bands tend to replace this kind of generic phrase with something more specific, like 'feels completely different'.一个非常平实、笼统的短语,用来描述改善,而不是对这种变化更生动、更精确的描述。更高分数段往往会用更具体的表达取代这种笼统的短语,比如 'feels completely different'。
    • GRAbecause my thoughts slow down instead of racing aroundA simple 'because' clause with basic contrast built in via 'instead of', which is accurate but structurally straightforward. A 7.5 answer would be more likely to drop the connector and use a participial phrase instead.一个简单的 'because' 从句,通过 'instead of' 内建了基本的对比,准确但结构直白。7.5的答案更可能会去掉连接词,改用分词短语。

Definitely, at least in my own experience. A stressful day at the studio feels completely different by the time I've finished a run along the beach, my thoughts actually slow down instead of racing through every unfinished task. There's something about open space and natural sound, waves, wind through trees, that seems to ease tension in a way scrolling on a phone at home never quite manages. I understand it's linked to lower cortisol levels, but honestly you don't need the science to notice it. Even just twenty minutes outside seems to reset my mood completely.

    • FCDefinitely, at least in my own experience.A natural spoken opener that both agrees and frames the answer as personal reflection rather than a general claim. This kind of framing is more developed than the plain 'Yes, I think so' used at 6.5.一个自然的口语化开头,既表达了赞同,又把答案框定为个人反思,而不是笼统的论断。这种框架比6.5中使用的平实 'Yes, I think so' 更成熟。
    • LRease tensionA moderately natural collocation for reducing stress, a step up from the plain 'make me calmer' phrasing a 6.5 answer would use, though not yet as distinctive as the 7.5 band's 'dissolve tension'.一个比较自然的搭配,用来表达减轻压力,比6.5答案会使用的平实表达 'make me calmer' 更进一步,不过还没有7.5分数段的 'dissolve tension' 那么有特色。
    • GRAmy thoughts actually slow down instead of racing through every unfinished taskA comma-linked clause attached directly to the previous sentence without a connector, relying on rhythm rather than an explicit conjunction. This kind of fluent clause-joining is more advanced than the connector-heavy sentences typical of 6.5.一个用逗号连接的分句,没有连接词就直接附加在前一句上,依靠的是节奏而不是明确的连词。这种流畅的分句连接方式,比6.5典型的、充满连接词的句子更高级。

Definitely, at least in my own experience. A stressful day at the studio feels utterly transformed by the time I've finished a run along the beach, my thoughts slowing down instead of racing through every unfinished task. There's something about open space and natural sound, waves, wind rustling through trees, that seems to dissolve tension in a way scrolling on a phone at home never manages. Scientifically, I understand it's linked to lower cortisol levels and reduced mental fatigue, but honestly you don't need the science to notice it; most people describe feeling calmer and clearer-headed after even twenty minutes outdoors, regardless of what mood they started in. It is a small, reliable reset, and I have come to rely on it more than I would have guessed a few years back.

    为什么是这个分数

    • LRseems to dissolve tensionThe verb 'dissolve' applied to tension is a genuinely less common, vivid word choice compared to the more ordinary 'ease tension' at 7.0 or 'make me calmer' at 6.5. It shows a wider range of precise vocabulary.动词 'dissolve' 用来形容紧张情绪,是一个真正少见、生动的用词选择,相比7.0中更普通的 'ease tension' 或6.5的 'make me calmer'。它展现出更广的精确词汇范围。
    • GRAmy thoughts slowing down instead of racing through every unfinished taskA participial phrase ('my thoughts slowing down') replaces what would be a full finite clause ('my thoughts actually slow down') at 7.0, compressing the sentence into a single flowing structure. This is a hallmark of more flexible, higher-band grammar.一个分词短语('my thoughts slowing down')取代了7.0中原本会是完整限定分句的表达('my thoughts actually slow down'),把句子压缩成一个流畅的单一结构。这是更灵活、更高分数段语法的标志。
    • FCmost people describe feeling calmer and clearer-headed after even twenty minutes outdoorsA small evaluative closing observation that generalises beyond the personal example, giving the answer a rounded finish. This kind of reflective closing touch is typical of 7.5 answers rather than the more abbreviated endings seen at lower bands.一处小小的评价性收尾观察,把内容从个人例子推向更普遍的概括,给答案带来了圆满的收尾。这种反思性的收尾手法是7.5答案的典型特征,而不是较低分数段那种更简略的结尾。

Yes, I think it does, because seeing nature yourself creates a real connection, not like just reading about it online. Once you have seen animals close up, like the monkeys at Son Tra Peninsula, it is harder to ignore news about habitat loss. This happened to me after moving to Da Nang, when regular beach runs made me start noticing rubbish on the shore. That made me start caring more about the environment, more than any statistics could.

    是的,我认为确实如此,因为亲眼看见自然会建立一种真实的联系,不像只是在网上读到它。一旦你近距离看过动物,比如山茶半岛的猴子,你就更难对栖息地丧失的新闻无动于衷。这在我搬到岘港之后就发生在了我身上,规律地在海滩跑步让我开始注意到岸边的垃圾。那让我开始更加关心环境,比任何统计数据都更能打动我。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCYes, I think it does, because seeing nature yourself creates a real connectionA direct opinion followed immediately by a single 'because' reason in one plain sentence. A 7.0 answer would more likely soften the opening and delay the reason slightly with phrases like 'mainly because', showing more natural pacing.一个直接的观点后面紧跟着一个用 'because' 引出的理由,构成一个平实的句子。7.0的答案更可能会软化开头,并用像 'mainly because' 这样的短语稍微延迟给出理由,展现出更自然的节奏感。
    • LRnot like just reading about it onlineAn informal, plain way of making a contrast, rather than a more polished phrase such as 'rarely manages on its own'. It communicates the idea but stays at a conversational, basic register.一种非正式、平实的方式来做对比,而不是像 'rarely manages on its own' 这样更精致的短语。它传达了意思,但停留在对话式、基础的语域。
    • GRAThat made me start caring more about the environment, more than any statistics could.A short final sentence using basic comparative structure ('more than any statistics could') tacked onto the main clause. A 7.5 answer would likely fold this comparison into a more compact closing clause rather than a separate short sentence.一句简短的结尾句,用基础的比较结构('more than any statistics could')附加在主句上。7.5的答案很可能会把这个比较融合进一个更紧凑的结尾分句,而不是一个独立的简短句子。

I think it generally does, yes, mainly because direct experience creates a connection that reading about conservation online rarely manages on its own. Once you've actually seen wildlife up close, say the monkeys around Son Tra Peninsula, it becomes harder to feel indifferent about habitat loss in the news afterwards. I noticed this shift in myself after moving to Da Nang; growing up in Hue, I honestly didn't think much about environmental issues until regular beach runs made me start noticing rubbish along the shoreline. It's a small thing, but it genuinely changed how much attention I pay to the coastline now.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCI noticed this shift in myself after moving to Da Nang; growing up in Hue, I honestly didn't think much about environmental issuesA semicolon links two closely related ideas into one flowing thought instead of starting a new sentence, and the phrase 'this shift in myself' shows a touch of reflection beyond a flat statement. A 6.5 answer would be more likely to split this into two short separate sentences.一个分号把两个紧密相关的想法连接成一个流畅的思路,而不是另起一句,短语 'this shift in myself' 展现出超越平铺直叙陈述的一丝反思。6.5的答案更可能会把它拆成两个简短独立的句子。
    • LRit becomes harder to feel indifferent about habitat lossThe phrase 'feel indifferent' is a moderately more precise way of expressing not caring, compared to the plainer 'ignore' used at 6.5. It's a natural upgrade without being an unusual or rare word.短语 'feel indifferent' 是一种比6.5中使用的更平淡的 'ignore' 稍微更精确的方式来表达不在乎。这是一个自然的升级,而不是一个不寻常或罕见的词。
    • GRAOnce you've actually seen wildlife up close, say the monkeys around Son Tra Peninsula, it becomes harder to feel indifferent about habitat loss in the news afterwards.A conditional-style opening clause ('Once you've actually seen...') is combined with a parenthetical example ('say the monkeys...') inserted mid-sentence, which is more structurally complex than the simpler 'Once you have seen... it is harder to...' pattern used at 6.5.一个条件式的开头从句('Once you've actually seen...')和一个插入在句中的括号式例子('say the monkeys...')结合在一起,这比6.5中使用的更简单的 'Once you have seen... it is harder to...' 模式在结构上更复杂。

I noticed this shift in myself after moving to Da Nang; growing up mostly around a busy city centre in Hue, I honestly didn't think much about environmental issues until regular beach runs made me start noticing rubbish along the shoreline. That firsthand irritation nudged me toward genuinely caring, in a way statistics alone never quite achieved. It's a small shift, but a lasting one.

    • LRdirect experience forges a connectionThe verb 'forges' is a genuinely less common, more vivid word choice for creating something strong, compared to the plainer 'creates' used at both the 6.5 and 7.0 answers. It shows a wider, more precise vocabulary range.动词 'forges' 是一个真正少见、更生动的用词选择,用来表达锻造出某种坚固的东西,相比6.5和7.0答案中都使用的更平淡的 'creates'。它展现出更广、更精确的词汇范围。
    • GRAThat firsthand irritation nudged me toward genuinely caring, in a way statistics alone never quite achieved.A compact closing sentence built around the phrase 'nudged me toward', which packs cause and effect into a single flexible clause rather than the more basic 'That made me start caring... more than any statistics could' structure used at 6.5.一个紧凑的结尾句,围绕短语 'nudged me toward' 构建,把因果关系打包进一个灵活的单一分句里,而不是像6.5中使用的更基础的 'That made me start caring... more than any statistics could' 结构。
    • FCgrowing up mostly around a busy city centre in HueA participial phrase adding background context mid-sentence without a separate clause, giving the answer a small evaluative, reflective texture typical of the top band's fluency and coherence.一个分词短语在句中加入了背景语境,而不需要一个独立的从句,给答案增添了一处小小的评价性、反思性的质感,这是顶尖分数段流利度和连贯性的典型特征。

    6.5 分

The 6.5 answer lists two plain impacts, stress and less exercise, with a simple personal example, linked using basic connectors like 'because' and 'also'.6.5的答案列出了两个平实的影响——压力和运动减少,配上一个简单的个人例子,用 'because' 和 'also' 这样基础的连接词连接。

It can affect both mental and physical health quite a lot. Without going outside, stress can build up because there are fewer ways to release it, and I have noticed my own concentration at work drop during weeks when deadlines kept me indoors. It also usually means less exercise, because walking in a park naturally makes you move more than sitting at a desk. Sleep can get worse too, since sunlight during the day helps with that.

    这会对身心健康产生相当大的影响。如果不出门,压力会积累起来,因为释放压力的途径变少了,我也注意到在那些因为赶工期而被困在室内的几周里,自己工作时的专注力会下降。这通常也意味着运动量减少,因为在公园散步自然会比坐在办公桌前活动得更多。睡眠也可能变差,因为白天晒太阳有助于改善睡眠。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCIt can affect both mental and physical health quite a lot.A short, direct opening statement giving the general position without hedging. A 7.0 answer would typically soften this with a phrase like 'I think' or 'fairly significantly' attached more naturally to the sentence.一个简短、直接的开头陈述,给出了总体立场,没有缓和语。7.0的答案通常会用像 'I think' 或 'fairly significantly' 这样的短语更自然地附加到句子上,来软化它。
    • LRmakes you move more than sitting at a deskA plain, generic verb phrase for physical activity, rather than a more specific collocation such as 'encourages more exercise'. It's clear but stays at the most basic level of word choice.一个平实、笼统的动词短语,用来表达体力活动,而不是像 'encourages more exercise' 这样更具体的搭配。它清晰,但停留在最基础的用词层面。
    • GRAIt also usually means less exercise, because walking in a park naturally makes you move more than sitting at a desk.A simple 'because' clause attached to a short main sentence, following straightforward subject-verb-object order throughout. A 7.5 answer would be more likely to add a further linking phrase like 'given that' or extend the sentence with an additional clause.一个简单的 'because' 从句附加在一个简短的主句上,全程遵循直白的主谓宾语序。7.5的答案更可能会加入像 'given that' 这样的进一步连接短语,或者用一个额外的从句扩展句子。
    7.0 分

The 7.0 answer adds the reflective tag 'I think' and slightly more developed vocabulary like 'natural outlets', showing more natural spoken texture than the plainer 6.5 version.7.0的答案加入了反思性的附加语 'I think',以及像 'natural outlets' 这样稍微更成熟的词汇,比更平实的6.5版本展现出更自然的口语质感。

It can affect both mental and physical health fairly significantly, I think. Without regular outdoor time, stress tends to build up with fewer natural outlets to release it, and I've genuinely noticed my own concentration at work drop during stretches when deadlines kept me indoors for weeks straight. Physically, less outdoor activity usually means less movement overall too, since a walk in a park naturally encourages more exercise than sitting at a desk. Sleep quality can suffer as well, since daylight actually helps regulate it. Little things like this add up more than people tend to assume.

    • FCIt can affect both mental and physical health fairly significantly, I think. The tag 'I think' added after the main claim softens it as a personal judgement rather than a flat fact, a small but natural spoken habit. A 6.5 answer tends to state such claims more bluntly without this kind of softening.在主要论断之后加入的附加语 'I think',把它软化成了一种个人判断,而不是平铺直叙的事实,这是一个虽小却自然的口语习惯。6.5的答案往往会更直白地陈述这样的论断,没有这种软化。
    • LRfewer natural outlets to release itThe collocation 'natural outlets' for releasing stress is a moderately more precise phrase than the plainer 'fewer ways to release it' used at 6.5, showing a step up in lexical range.搭配 'natural outlets' 用来表达释放压力,是一个比6.5中使用的更平淡的 'fewer ways to release it' 略微更精确的短语,展现出词汇范围上的一个进步。
    • GRAI've genuinely noticed my own concentration at work drop during stretches when deadlines kept me indoors for weeks straightA long sentence combining a present-perfect clause with an embedded time clause ('during stretches when...'), which is more structurally ambitious than the shorter, separated sentences typical of 6.5.一个长句把一个现在完成时分句和一个内嵌的时间从句('during stretches when...')结合在一起,这比6.5典型的更短、更分开的句子在结构上更有野心。
    7.5 分

The 7.5 answer closes with the evaluative summary 'the effects seem subtle at first but accumulate steadily over time' and uses the vivid phrase 'sitting slumped at a desk', giving it more compact, evaluative texture than the 7.0 version.7.5的答案以评价性总结 'the effects seem subtle at first but accumulate steadily over time' 收尾,并用了生动的短语 'sitting slumped at a desk',比7.0版本拥有更紧凑、更具评价性的质感。

It can affect both mental and physical health fairly significantly, I'd say. Without regular outdoor time, stress tends to build up with fewer natural outlets to release it, and I've genuinely noticed my own concentration at work slipping during stretches when deadlines kept me indoors for weeks on end. Physically, less outdoor activity usually translates into less movement overall too, given that a walk in a park naturally encourages more exercise than sitting slumped at a desk. Sleep quality can suffer as well, since daylight exposure during the day actually helps regulate it. Overall, the effects seem subtle at first but accumulate steadily over time. None of this happens overnight, but it quietly wears people down.

    • LRsitting slumped at a deskThe added detail 'slumped' is a vivid, slightly idiomatic touch that paints a clearer picture than the plain 'sitting at a desk' used at both lower bands. It's the kind of small precise detail that distinguishes top-band lexical resource.新增的细节 'slumped' 是一处生动、略带习语色彩的点缀,比两个较低分数段使用的平实 'sitting at a desk' 描绘出更清晰的画面。这种小而精确的细节,正是顶尖分数段词汇资源的独到之处。
    • FCOverall, the effects seem subtle at first but accumulate steadily over time.A compact closing sentence that evaluates the overall pattern rather than simply listing another impact, giving the answer a rounded, reflective finish. Lower bands tend to end on another plain fact rather than this kind of summarising judgement.一句紧凑的结尾句,评价了整体的模式,而不只是再列出一个影响,给答案带来了圆满、反思性的收尾。较低分数段往往会以再一个平实的事实结尾,而不是这种总结性的判断。
    • GRAPhysically, less outdoor activity usually translates into less movement overall too, given that a walk in a park naturally encourages more exercise than sitting slumped at a desk. The sentence uses a fronted adverb ('Physically,') plus a 'given that' clause instead of the more basic 'because' used at 6.5, showing more varied and flexible subordination within a single long sentence.这句话用了一个前置的副词('Physically,')加上一个 'given that' 从句,取代了6.5中更基础的 'because',在一个长句里展现出更多样、更灵活的从属结构。

The 6.5 answer gives a direct 'no, not always' opinion with a simple contrast between fragile areas and most places, using plain connectors like 'because' and 'but'.6.5的答案给出了一个直接的不,不总是这一观点,在脆弱区域和大多数地方之间做了一个简单的对比,用 'because' 和 'but' 这样平实的连接词。

No, not always, I think it depends on the place. For very fragile areas, like breeding grounds, some restriction is probably needed, because even careful visitors can cause damage. But for most places, I think teaching visitors and giving them things like marked trails and rubbish bins works better than closing places completely. Son Tra Peninsula near me only limits vehicles in certain areas instead of closing it, which seems like a fair middle ground.

    不,不总是,我觉得这取决于地点。对于非常脆弱的区域,比如繁殖地,可能确实需要一些限制,因为即使是谨慎的游客也可能造成破坏。但对于大多数地方,我觉得教育游客、并给他们提供标记好的步道和垃圾桶之类的设施,比完全关闭要有效得多。我附近的山茶半岛只是在某些区域限制车辆通行,而不是把整个地方关闭,这似乎是一个公平的折中办法。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCNo, not always, I think it depends on the place.A short, direct opinion given in plain, everyday words with no spoken hedge. A 7.0 answer would more typically open with a slightly more formal negation like 'Not entirely, no' plus a fuller following clause.一个简短、直接的观点,用平实、日常的词语表达,没有口语化的缓和语。7.0的答案通常会用像 'Not entirely, no' 这样稍微更正式的否定开头,再加上一个更完整的后续分句。
    • LRcause damageA very basic, common verb-noun pairing, whereas a higher band would likely choose a more vivid alternative such as 'inflict damage'. It's clear but at the plainest level of word choice.一个非常基础、常见的动词-名词搭配,而更高分数段很可能会选择一个更生动的替代表达,比如 'inflict damage'。它清晰,但用词处于最平实的层面。
    • GRABut for most places, I think teaching visitors and giving them things like marked trails and rubbish bins works better than closing places completely.A long sentence built mainly with simple coordination and a basic comparative ('works better than'), without embedded subordinate reasoning. A 7.5 answer would typically add a 'given that' or 'since' clause explaining why this approach works better.一个主要用简单并列结构和基础比较('works better than')构建的长句,没有内嵌从属推理。7.5的答案通常会加入一个 'given that' 或 'since' 从句,解释为什么这种方式更有效。
    7.0 分

The 7.0 answer adds the qualifying phrase 'Not entirely, no' and a reasoned justification clause ('since people who feel disconnected... care less'), showing more developed reflection than the 6.5 version.7.0的答案加入了限定性短语 'Not entirely, no',以及一个有理有据的说明从句('since people who feel disconnected... care less'),比6.5版本展现出更成熟的反思。

Not entirely, no, I think it depends heavily on the specific area and threat involved. For genuinely fragile ecosystems, certain breeding grounds or rare habitats, some restriction probably is necessary, since even careful visitors can cause damage simply through sheer numbers. But for most natural spaces, I'd say educating visitors and providing proper facilities works better than blanket restrictions, since people who feel disconnected from nature tend to care less about protecting it long-term. Son Tra Peninsula near me actually limits vehicle access to certain zones rather than closing them entirely.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCNot entirely, no, I think it depends heavily on the specific area and threat involved.A more nuanced negation than a flat 'no', immediately qualified with 'it depends heavily', showing a more measured, reflective opening than the blunter 6.5 statement.一个比平铺直叙的 'no' 更细腻的否定,紧接着用 'it depends heavily' 加以限定,展现出比6.5更直白的陈述更从容、更具反思性的开头。
    • LRblanket restrictionsA natural collocation meaning restrictions applied without exception, more precise than the plainer 'closing places completely' used at 6.5, though not yet as vivid as some 7.5-level choices.一个自然的搭配,意思是不加区别地应用限制,比6.5中使用的更平淡的 'closing places completely' 更精确,不过还没有一些7.5水平的选择那么生动。
    • GRAsince people who feel disconnected from nature tend to care less about protecting it long-termA 'since' clause containing its own embedded relative clause ('who feel disconnected from nature'), creating a two-layer subordinate structure. This is more grammatically ambitious than the simpler single-clause reasoning typical of 6.5.一个 'since' 从句里内嵌着自己的关系从句('who feel disconnected from nature'),形成了一个两层的从属结构。这比6.5典型的更简单的单分句推理在语法上更有野心。

    为什么是这个分数

    • LReven careful visitors can inflict damageThe verb 'inflict' is a more vivid, slightly less common choice for causing damage than the plain 'cause damage' used at 6.5, and a small upgrade even on the 7.0 answer's identical phrasing, showing deliberate lexical variation.动词 'inflict' 是一个比6.5中使用的平实 'cause damage' 更生动、略微更少见的、用来表达造成破坏的选择,甚至比7.0答案中相同的表达也算是一处小小的升级,展现出刻意的词汇变化。
    • GRAwhich strikes me as a sensible middle ground between total access and total restrictionA non-defining relative clause tacked onto the end of an already long sentence, closing with a balanced parallel structure ('total access and total restriction'). This kind of extended, layered sentence is more flexible than the shorter closing sentences typical of lower bands.一个非限定性关系从句附加在一个已经很长的句子末尾,以一个平衡的并列结构('total access and total restriction')收尾。这种延伸、有层次的句子比较低分数段典型的更短的结尾句更灵活。

I don't think it has to be one or the other, but if I had to choose, I would pick protecting the environment. This is because a damaged environment can hurt the economy later, through bad health or less tourism. Da Nang depends a lot on nature, like its beaches and mountains, to bring in tourists. So damaging them for quick money would actually hurt the economy too in the end. The best way is to think about the environment from the start.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCbut if I had to choose, I would pick protecting the environmentA very plain conditional structure using basic vocabulary ('pick') to state the preference. A 7.0 answer would more likely use a slightly more natural phrase like 'I'd lean toward' in the same position.一个非常平实的条件结构,用基础词汇('pick')来陈述偏好。7.0的答案更可能会在同样的位置用像 'I'd lean toward' 这样稍微更自然的短语。

A higher band would more likely use a noun phrase like 'tourism income' to sound more precise and less conversational.一个常见、日常的短语动词,用来表达吸引游客,清晰但普通。更高分数段更可能会用像 'tourism income' 这样的名词短语,听起来更精确、更不口语化。
    • GRASo damaging them for quick money would actually hurt the economy too in the end.A short sentence relying on the simple connector 'so' rather than a more integrated subordinator like 'since'. A 7.5 answer would typically fold this cause-effect relationship into a longer sentence instead of starting a new one.一个简短的句子,依赖简单的连接词 'so',而不是像 'since' 这样更整合的从属连词。7.5的答案通常会把这层因果关系融合进一个更长的句子,而不是另起一句。

    • GRAsince a damaged environment eventually undermines the economy too, through poorer health and ruined tourism, that sort of thingA 'since' clause is extended with an inserted list ('through poorer health and ruined tourism') before trailing off naturally with 'that sort of thing', a spoken-style structure more complex than the short, separate sentences at 6.5.一个 'since' 从句通过插入的列表('through poorer health and ruined tourism')得到了延伸,然后自然地以 'that sort of thing' 收尾淡出,这是一种比6.5中简短独立的句子更复杂的口语化结构。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCBut I don't think it can fix everything, because some damage, like extinct species, can never be brought backA straightforward two-clause sentence joined with 'because', stating the limitation plainly. A 7.0 answer would more likely widen this into a listed contrast, such as 'extinct species or eroded ecosystems', to sound more naturally developed.一个用 'because' 连接的直白两分句句子,平实地陈述了局限性。7.0的答案更可能会把它扩展成一个列表式的对比,比如 'extinct species or eroded ecosystems',听起来更自然、更成熟。

But I'm cautious about relying on it as a complete solution, since some damage, extinct species or eroded ecosystems, simply can't be undone no matter how advanced the technology becomes. Technology also needs the right policies and public behaviour alongside it to actually work at scale, so I'd say it's a genuinely useful tool, but not a substitute for prevention. That balance, to me, feels like the realistic way to think about it.

    • FCBut I'm cautious about relying on it as a complete solutionThe phrase 'I'm cautious about relying on' expresses a more nuanced, reflective stance than the blunter 'I don't think it can fix everything' used at 6.5, signalling measured judgement rather than a flat claim.短语 'I'm cautious about relying on' 表达了一种比6.5中使用的更直白的 'I don't think it can fix everything' 更细腻、更具反思性的立场,传达出一种经过权衡的判断,而不是平铺直叙的论断。
    • LRcoral restoration techniquesA specific, topic-relevant example that is more precise than the generic 'better recycling or cleaner energy' pairing used at 6.5, showing a slightly wider and more informed range of vocabulary.一个具体、与主题相关的例子,比6.5中使用的笼统 'better recycling or cleaner energy' 搭配更精确,展现出稍微更广、更有见识的词汇范围。
    • GRAso I'd say it's a genuinely useful tool, but not a substitute for preventionA compact closing clause built around the contrastive pattern 'a useful tool, but not a substitute for X', which packs the evaluation into one flexible clause rather than the two separate short sentences used at 6.5.一个紧凑的结尾分句,围绕对比性模式 'a useful tool, but not a substitute for X' 构建,把评价打包进一个灵活的分句里,而不是像6.5中使用的两个独立的简短句子。

To some extent, yes, I think technology can genuinely help, things like better recycling methods, cleaner energy, or coral restoration techniques are already making measurable progress in some places. But I'm cautious about relying on it as a complete solution, since some damage, extinct species or eroded ecosystems, simply can't be undone no matter how advanced the technology becomes. Technology also needs the right policies and public behaviour alongside it to actually work at scale; a brilliant invention sitting unused because it's too costly to adopt widely doesn't help much. So I'd say technology is a genuinely useful tool for slowing and partially reversing damage, but hardly a substitute for prevention in the first place.

    为什么是这个分数

    • GRAa brilliant invention sitting unused because it's too costly to adopt widely doesn't help muchA participial phrase ('sitting unused') functions as the subject of the sentence, a compact construction that avoids a clunkier full clause like 'an invention that sits unused'. This kind of subject-position participial phrase is a hallmark of more flexible top-band grammar.一个分词短语('sitting unused')充当句子的主语,这是一种紧凑的结构,避免了像 'an invention that sits unused' 这样更笨拙的完整从句。这种位于主语位置的分词短语,是更灵活的顶尖分数段语法的标志。
    • LRbut hardly a substitute for prevention in the first placeThe word 'hardly' is a more precise, slightly less common intensifier than the plain 'not' used in the equivalent phrase at 7.0, adding a subtly stronger evaluative shade to the closing judgement.词语 'hardly' 是一个比7.0中对应短语所使用的平实 'not' 更精确、略微更少见的强调词,给结尾的判断增添了一层微妙而更强的评价色彩。
    • FCTechnology also needs the right policies and public behaviour alongside it to actually work at scale; a brilliant invention sitting unusedA semicolon links two closely related ideas into one flowing thought, letting the second illustrate the first without a separate sentence or connector. This fluent, connector-free linking is more advanced than the more conventional 'so' and 'but' links used at lower bands.一个分号把两个紧密相关的想法连接成一个流畅的思路,让第二个想法在不用独立句子或连接词的情况下阐明第一个。这种流畅、不用连接词的连接方式,比较低分数段更常规的 'so' 和 'but' 连接更高级。

I think most children enjoy doing active, free things outdoors. For example, when my younger sister was in primary school, she loved going to the riverside park near Truong Sa street in Da Nang. She and her friends would run around the grass, collect colourful leaves, and try to find little frogs near the water. Once she came home with muddy shoes and a bunch of wildflowers, and she looked really happy. 为什么是这个分数

Honestly, I think most children are naturally drawn to things that let them explore and move around freely. My younger sister, for instance, used to love going to the riverside park near Truong Sa street whenever she visited Da Nang as a child, chasing her friends around the grass, collecting colourful leaves, and trying to spot little frogs near the water. I remember her once coming home with muddy shoes and a handful of wildflowers, absolutely thrilled with herself. Most children, I'd say, are drawn instinctively to whatever lets them explore and move freely. My younger sister, back in primary school, practically lived at the riverside park near Truong Sa street in Da Nang, chasing her friends across the grass, hunting for colourful leaves, and trying to spot little frogs lurking near the water. She once came home caked in mud with a fistful of wildflowers, positively glowing with pride at the haul. Not every child relishes getting dirty, granted, but curiosity and a taste for small adventure seem to be close to universal in kids let loose outdoors — nature, for them, is less a place than an invitation.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCNot every child relishes getting dirty, granted, but curiosity and a taste for small adventure seem to be close to universalThe concession 'granted' is folded mid-sentence rather than opening a new sentence, letting the whole final thought run as one continuous, tightly linked unit — more economical than the separate concession sentences used at 6.5 and 7.0.让步语 'granted' 被融进句子中间,而不是另起一句,让整个最后的想法作为一个连续、紧密相连的单元流动——比6.5和7.0中使用的独立让步句更经济。

The short sentence 'the amount of rubbish was really surprising' states the reaction plainly, without embedding it in the story.简短的句子 'the amount of rubbish was really surprising' 平实地陈述了这种反应,没有把它嵌入到故事里。

Yes, I think recycling is important for protecting nature. When we recycle, we reduce the waste that goes to landfills or gets burned, which helps reduce pollution. A couple of months ago, I joined a community clean-up at a small park near Marble Mountains. We picked up plastic bottles, wrappers and cans — the amount of rubbish was really surprising. After sorting everything into recycling bins from a local group, I could see the difference it made. Of course, recycling alone isn't a complete solution, but I think every bit helps keep places like that park cleaner.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCAfter sorting everything into recycling bins from a local group, I could see the difference it made. This sentence adds the result as a separate step after the story, a basic sequential structure. The 7.5 answer instead compresses the sorting and the result into one flowing clause built around a present participle.这句话把结果作为故事之后的一个独立步骤加进来,是一种基础的顺序结构。7.5的答案则把分类和结果压缩进一个围绕现在分词构建的流畅分句里。

    • GRAWe picked up plastic bottles, wrappers and cans — the amount of rubbish was really surprising.A short list followed by a dash and a simple reaction sentence — clear, but less integrated than the equivalent 7.5 sentence, which folds the list and the reaction into one longer clause.一个简短的列表,后接破折号和一个简单的反应句——清晰,但不如7.5对应的句子整合得好,后者把列表和反应融合进一个更长的分句里。

Yes, I'd say recycling is genuinely important for protecting nature. When we recycle, we cut down on the waste ending up in landfills or getting burned, which really helps lessen pollution. A couple of months ago, for instance, I joined a community clean-up at a small park near the base of Marble Mountains, and honestly, the amount of rubbish we collected — plastic bottles, snack wrappers, cans — was surprising. After sorting everything into the recycling bins provided by a local environmental group, I could actually see the difference it made. Yes, recycling matters more than people give it credit for, I'd say, when it comes to protecting nature. It cuts down on the waste piling up in landfills or being burned, which noticeably lessens pollution. A couple of months back, I joined a community clean-up at a small park near the base of Marble Mountains, and the sheer volume of rubbish we hauled out — plastic bottles, snack wrappers, cans — was genuinely startling. Sorting it all into the recycling bins a local environmental group had set up, I could actually watch the difference take shape. Recycling alone won't solve everything, granted; cutting single-use items and shifting habits matter just as much. But every bit of it, from what I've seen, keeps places like that park greener and more inviting.

But every bit of it, from what I've seen, keeps places like that park greenerThe concession and the final claim are linked by a semicolon and then a separate 'But' sentence, giving the qualification more room to develop than the single clause used at 6.5, while still landing on the same conclusion as the other bands.让步和最终的论断用分号连接,然后再用一个独立的 'But' 句子,这给了限定说明比6.5中使用的单一分句更大的发展空间,同时依然落在与其他分数段相同的结论上。

'Still, I think real change depends on other factors too' closes with a brief, generic qualification.'Still, I think real change depends on other factors too' 以一句简短、笼统的限定说明收尾。

I think a vegetarian diet can help protect nature, but it isn't a perfect solution. Raising animals for meat usually uses more land, water and resources than growing plants, so eating more vegetables could reduce pressure on forests and rivers. For example, last year my colleague Vy switched to a mostly vegetarian diet because she was worried about the environmental effects of meat production. She told me it made her feel closer to nature, especially when we brought veggie bánh xèo to picnics at Son Tra Peninsula. Still, I think real change depends on other factors too.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCStill, I think real change depends on other factors too.A short final sentence tacks on a qualification without specifying what those factors are, unlike the 7.5 answer, which names them directly ('from where food comes from to how it's produced') in the same closing thought.一句简短的结尾句附加上了一个限定说明,却没有具体说明这些因素是什么,而7.5的答案则在同样的结尾想法中直接点明了它们('from where food comes from to how it's produced')。

Honestly, I think there's some truth to the idea that a vegetarian diet helps protect nature, though it's not a perfect solution on its own. From what I've read, raising animals for meat generally uses far more land, water and resources than growing plants, so eating more vegetables could ease the pressure on forests and rivers. Last year, my colleague Vy switched to a mostly vegetarian diet out of concern about large-scale meat production, and she told me it made her feel more connected to nature, especially over homemade veggie bánh xèo at our weekend picnics at Son Tra Peninsula. Still, I'd say real change depends on plenty of other factors too.

'never more so than over homemade veggie bánh xèo' inverts normal word order for emphasis, a risk neither lower band takes.'never more so than over homemade veggie bánh xèo' 为了强调而颠倒了正常语序,这是两个较低分数段都没有冒险尝试的。

There's real truth in the idea that a vegetarian diet helps protect nature, I'd say, though it's far from a complete solution. Raising animals for meat typically swallows up more land, water and resources than growing plants ever does, so eating fewer of them could genuinely ease the pressure on forests and rivers. • LRstressing the plants and animals there'Stressing' is a reasonably precise verb choice, between the plain 'making it harder... to survive' at 6.5 and the more elaborate 'quietly stressing plants and animals alike' at 7.5.'Stressing' 是一个相当精确的动词选择,介于6.5中平实的 'making it harder... to survive' 和7.5中更精致的 'quietly stressing plants and animals alike' 之间。
    • GRAexplaining that longer dry seasons and unpredictable storms are stressing the plants and animals thereA participle clause ('explaining that...') attaches the guide's explanation directly to the main sentence, a more integrated structure than the separate reported-speech sentence used at 6.5.一个分词从句('explaining that...')把向导的解释直接附加到主句上,这是一种比6.5中使用的独立转述句更整合的结构。

'It isn't only about hotter days; sudden floods and landslides are just as capable of wiping out habitats overnight' uses a semicolon to hold a full parallel contrast.'It isn't only about hotter days; sudden floods and landslides are just as capable of wiping out habitats overnight' 用分号承载了一个完整的并列对比。

A changing climate, I'd say, is going to hit the natural world hard, and nowhere more visibly to me than Son Tra Peninsula, which I hike a few times a year to see the wildlife. Last April, a local guide pointed out trails running far drier than usual and streams we'd normally wade through reduced to almost nothing, explaining that longer dry seasons and increasingly unpredictable storms are quietly stressing plants and animals alike — rare species like the red-shanked douc langur among them. It isn't only about hotter days; sudden floods and landslides are just as capable of wiping out habitats overnight. A few community groups have begun replanting native trees, which is heartening, but if temperatures keep climbing, places as singular as Son Tra risk losing biodiversity they'll never fully recover.

    • FCIt isn't only about hotter days; sudden floods and landslides are just as capable of wiping out habitats overnight.A semicolon joins two full independent clauses in careful balance, a more sophisticated cohesive device than the dash used at 6.5 or the mid-sentence 'though' at 7.0.分号以一种精心的平衡方式连接了两个完整的独立分句,这是一种比6.5中使用的破折号或7.0中句中的 'though' 更精妙的衔接手法。
    • LRquietly stressing plants and animals alike'Quietly stressing... alike' is a precise, slightly literary pairing that goes well beyond the plain 'making it harder... to survive' at 6.5.'Quietly stressing... alike' 是一个精确、略带文学色彩的搭配,远远超越了6.5中平实的 'making it harder... to survive'。
    • GRAexplaining that longer dry seasons and increasingly unpredictable storms are quietly stressing plants and animals alike — rare species like the red-shanked douc langur among themA dash introduces an appositive list naming specific species, extending the participle clause further than the equivalent sentences at 6.5 and 7.0, and doing so without a new finite verb.一个破折号引出了一个点名具体物种的同位语列表,比6.5和7.0对应的句子把分词从句延伸得更远,而且没有使用新的限定动词。

The closing sentence states the conclusion plainly: 'those ecosystems would take decades to recover, if they ever fully do.'结尾句平实地陈述了结论:'those ecosystems would take decades to recover, if they ever fully do.'

Yes, I agree that if we keep using fossil fuels, the damage to the environment will be very hard to reverse. Last year, I went hiking with colleagues at Son Tra Peninsula, and we saw areas where trees looked stunted and yellow. A park guide explained that air pollution from traffic and nearby industries was affecting the plants, and some monkeys were even seen coughing. It made me realise that even if we stopped using fossil fuels tomorrow, those ecosystems would take decades to recover, if they ever fully do.

    是的,我同意如果我们继续使用化石燃料,对环境的破坏将很难逆转。去年,我和同事们去山茶半岛徒步,我们看到有些地方的树木看起来发育不良,叶子发黄。一位公园向导解释说,来自交通和附近工业的空气污染正在影响这些植物,甚至还有人看到猴子咳嗽。这让我意识到,即使我们明天就停止使用化石燃料,那些生态系统也需要几十年才能恢复,如果它们能够完全恢复的话。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCIt made me realise that even if we stopped using fossil fuels tomorrow, those ecosystems would take decades to recover, if they ever fully do.The realisation is stated as one long but fairly linear sentence. The 7.5 answer instead builds a similar realisation around the phrase 'It struck me, standing there', which frames the same idea more personally and vividly.这个意识到的过程被陈述成一个虽长但相当线性的句子。7.5的答案则围绕短语 'It struck me, standing there' 构建了类似的意识,以一种更个人化、更生动的方式来框定同样的想法。
    • LRsome monkeys were even seen coughingA plain, literal detail. The 7.5 answer's 'monkeys had even been spotted coughing' uses the same fact but with a more natural passive construction, matching a more fluent register.一个平实、字面化的细节。7.5的答案 'monkeys had even been spotted coughing' 使用了同样的事实,但用了一种更自然的被动结构,与更流利的语域相匹配。
    • GRAA park guide explained that air pollution from traffic and nearby industries was affecting the plants, and some monkeys were even seen coughing. Two ideas are joined with a simple 'and', a safe coordinating structure. The 7.5 answer instead separates the same two ideas with 'and that', keeping both reported clauses independent and parallel.两个想法用简单的 'and' 连接起来,是一种安全的并列结构。7.5的答案则用 'and that' 把同样的两个想法分开,让两个转述分句保持独立、并列。

'Honestly, we can plant more trees, but restoring everything is another matter entirely' closes with a spoken hedge and an idiomatic final phrase.'Honestly, we can plant more trees, but restoring everything is another matter entirely' 以一个口语化的缓和语和一句地道的收尾短语结束。

Yes, I'd say I agree that continued reliance on fossil fuels will cause damage that's extremely hard, if not impossible, to reverse. Last year, for example, I went hiking with some colleagues at Son Tra Peninsula, and along the trails we noticed areas where the trees looked stunted or yellowed. A park guide explained that air pollution from city traffic and nearby industries was affecting the plants, and apparently even the monkeys had been spotted coughing. It struck me that even if we stopped burning fossil fuels tomorrow, those ecosystems would still take decades to recover, if they ever fully did. Honestly, we can plant more trees, but restoring everything is another matter entirely.

    • FCIt struck me that even if we stopped burning fossil fuels tomorrow, those ecosystems would still take decades to recover, if they ever fully did.'It struck me that' frames the realisation as a personal moment of reflection, a more developed device than the plainer 'It made me realise' used at 6.5.'It struck me that' 把这份意识框定为一个个人反思的时刻,这是一种比6.5中更平淡的 'It made me realise' 更成熟的手法。
    • LRrestoring everything is another matter entirely'Another matter entirely' is a fairly natural idiomatic closing phrase, more developed than the plain conclusion at 6.5, though less specific than the 7.5 phrase 'an entirely different undertaking'.'Another matter entirely' 是一个相当自然、地道的结尾短语,比6.5中平实的结论更成熟,不过没有7.5短语 'an entirely different undertaking' 那么具体。
    • GRAA park guide explained that air pollution from city traffic and nearby industries was affecting the plants, and apparently even the monkeys had been spotted coughing. The adverb 'apparently' is inserted before the second clause, adding a layer of reported distance that the plain coordination at 6.5 doesn't include.副词 'apparently' 被插入到第二个分句之前,增添了一层转述性的疏离感,这是6.5中平实的并列结构所没有的。

'It struck me, standing there, that...' inserts a participle aside mid-sentence for a more vivid, personal framing of the realisation.'It struck me, standing there, that...' 在句中插入了一个分词式的旁白,为这份意识提供了更生动、更个人化的框架。

Yes, I'd agree that continued reliance on fossil fuels is doing damage that's extremely hard, if not outright impossible, to reverse. Hiking with colleagues at Son Tra Peninsula last year, I noticed whole stretches where the trees looked stunted and faintly yellowed; a park guide explained that air pollution drifting in from city traffic and nearby industry was affecting the plants, and that monkeys had even been spotted coughing. It struck me, standing there, that even if fossil fuels vanished overnight, those ecosystems would still need decades to recover, assuming they ever fully did. We can plant all the trees we like, but restoring a place to what it once was is an entirely different undertaking.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCIt struck me, standing there, that even if fossil fuels vanished overnight, those ecosystems would still need decades to recover, assuming they ever fully did.The inserted aside 'standing there' anchors the reflection in the physical moment, a more vivid framing device than the plainer 'It struck me that' used at 7.0 or 'It made me realise' at 6.5.插入的旁白 'standing there' 把这份反思锚定在一个具体的物理时刻,这是一种比7.0中更平淡的 'It struck me that' 或6.5的 'It made me realise' 更生动的框定手法。
    • LRan entirely different undertaking'Undertaking' is a more formal, precise noun than the plain 'matter' used at 7.0's 'another matter entirely', showing a wider vocabulary range for the same closing idea.'Undertaking' 是一个比7.0中 'another matter entirely' 使用的平实名词 'matter' 更正式、更精确的词,展现出对同一个结尾想法更广的词汇范围。
    • GRAa park guide explained that air pollution drifting in from city traffic and nearby industry was affecting the plants, and that monkeys had even been spotted coughingThe repeated 'that' clause ('explained that... and that...') keeps two reported ideas grammatically parallel and independent, a more controlled structure than the single coordinated clause used at 6.5.重复的 'that' 从句('explained that... and that...')让两个转述的想法在语法上保持并列、独立,这是一种比6.5中使用的单一并列分句更有掌控力的结构。

The short closing sentence 'seeing these projects start gives me some hope' states the feeling directly.简短的结尾句 'seeing these projects start gives me some hope' 直接陈述了这种感受。

I think it is possible for governments to cooperate more on environmental protection, but it will take a lot of effort. Last year, I attended a public forum in Da Nang where officials talked about joining a regional project to protect the coastline from erosion, working with other cities along the central coast and nearby countries. This showed me that environmental problems don't stop at borders, so countries need to act together. The problem is that every country has different priorities, so progress can be slow. Still, seeing these projects start gives me some hope.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCThis showed me that environmental problems don't stop at borders, so countries need to act together.'So' draws the conclusion directly from the previous sentence, a clear but basic link. The 7.5 answer instead folds the same realisation into a dash-attached aside within a longer sentence.'So' 直接从前一句得出结论,是一种清晰但基础的连接方式。7.5的答案则把同样的意识融合进一个更长句子里、由破折号引出的旁白中。
    • LRgives me some hopeA plain, common phrase. The 7.5 answer extends this into 'gives me some genuine hope that... will keep cooperation inching forward', adding both an intensifier and a more precise verb.一个平实、常见的短语。7.5的答案把它延伸成 'gives me some genuine hope that... will keep cooperation inching forward',同时加入了一个强调词和一个更精确的动词。
    • GRAThe problem is that every country has different priorities, so progress can be slow.A single 'so' clause states cause and effect directly. The 7.5 answer instead uses 'which keeps progress frustratingly slow', a relative clause that integrates the same idea into a longer sentence.一个简单的 'so' 从句直接陈述了因果关系。7.5的答案则用了 'which keeps progress frustratingly slow',这是一个把同样的想法整合进更长句子的关系从句。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCThat made it clear to me that environmental issues don't stop at borders — you need joint action. The dash before 'you need joint action' lets the conclusion land as a short, punchy aside, a more developed cohesive move than the plain 'so' clause used at 6.5.'you need joint action' 之前的破折号,让这句结论以一个简短、有力的旁白形式呈现出来,这是一种比6.5中使用的平实 'so' 从句更成熟的衔接手法。
    • LRThe problem, though, is that every country has its own priorities and economic pressures'Its own priorities and economic pressures' is a fairly precise pairing, a step up from the plain 'different priorities' at 6.5, though less compact than the equivalent 7.5 phrase.'Its own priorities and economic pressures' 是一个相当精确的搭配,比6.5中平实的 'different priorities' 更进一步,不过没有7.5对应的短语那么紧凑。
    • GRAStill, seeing these cross-border projects get off the ground gives me some hope.A gerund phrase ('seeing these cross-border projects get off the ground') functions as the sentence subject, a moderately complex structure, though simpler than the extended relative clause used to close the 7.5 answer.一个动名词短语('seeing these cross-border projects get off the ground')充当句子的主语,这是一种中等复杂度的结构,不过比用来结束7.5答案的延伸关系从句要简单。

'a reminder that environmental problems have never respected borders' closes the observation with a compact, almost aphoristic clause.'a reminder that environmental problems have never respected borders' 用一个紧凑、近乎格言式的分句结束了这段观察。

I do think governments can cooperate more on environmental security, though it will take considerably more effort and compromise than most people assume. Attending a public forum in Da Nang last year, I listened to local officials discuss joining a regional project to protect the coastline from erosion, coordinating not just with other cities along the central coast but with neighbouring countries too — a reminder that environmental problems have never respected borders. The catch is that every country arrives with its own priorities and economic pressures, which keeps progress frustratingly slow. Still, watching these cross-border projects actually get off the ground, however modestly, gives me some genuine hope that public and expert pressure will keep cooperation inching forward.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCa reminder that environmental problems have never respected bordersThis appositive phrase, attached without a connector, does the cohesive work of summarising the previous clause in a single compact unit, more economical than the separate 'That made it clear to me that' sentence used at 7.0.这个没有用连接词、直接附加上去的同位语短语,以一个紧凑的单元完成了总结前一分句的衔接工作,比7.0中使用的独立句子 'That made it clear to me that' 更经济。
    • LRwhich keeps progress frustratingly slow'Frustratingly slow' packs an evaluative adverb directly onto the adjective, a more compact and precise choice than the plain 'progress can be slow' at 6.5.'Frustratingly slow' 把一个评价性副词直接压缩到形容词上,是一种比6.5中平实的 'progress can be slow' 更紧凑、更精确的选择。
    • GRAStill, watching these cross-border projects actually get off the ground, however modestly, gives me some genuine hope that public and expert pressure will keep cooperation inching forward. This sentence nests a gerund subject, an inserted 'however modestly' aside, and a final 'that' clause all together — a considerably more layered structure than the shorter equivalent sentences at 6.5 and 7.0.这句话把一个动名词主语、一个插入的 'however modestly' 旁白,以及一个最后的 'that' 从句全部嵌套在一起——比6.5和7.0对应的更短的句子要有层次得多。
