Feelings are named plainly ('really proud and a bit surprised') and clauses are linked mainly with 'but' and 'so', producing a clear, accurate but linguistically simple account, typical of Band 6.5.情感被朴素地点明('really proud and a bit surprised'——真的很自豪,还有点惊讶),各分句主要靠'but'和'so'连接,整体叙述清楚、准确但语言比较简单,是典型的6.5分水平。

I want to talk about an occasion when a woman called chi Hoa said something very positive about a project I did for her.

Chi Hoa owns a small independent bookshop in Da Nang. Last year, she asked our studio to redesign her shop's logo and the sign above the door, because the old one was faded and hard to read. I was the designer who worked on it.

She was positive about the work because, after we finished, more new customers started coming in. She told me that people used to walk past without noticing the shop at all, but the new sign was bright and simple, so it caught people's attention from the street. She said her monthly sales went up a little, which she didn't expect from something as small as a sign.

When I heard her say this, I felt really proud and a bit surprised too. Usually clients just say thank you and that's it, but chi Hoa called the studio specially to explain exactly why it helped her. As a designer, I don't always see the real effect of my work on someone's daily life, so hearing this made the project feel much more meaningful to me than just another job.

  • LRthe new sign was bright and simple"Bright and simple" is a common two-adjective description that avoids any design-specific vocabulary (like "high-contrast" or "minimalist") the speaker, as a professional designer, could plausibly use, keeping the language accessible to a general listener rather than technically precise. The pairing works well to explain why the sign succeeded, but it stays within the everyday, high-frequency vocabulary band that Band 6.5 targets rather than reaching for anything more specific. This plainness is typical throughout the answer, where concrete outcomes (more customers, higher sales) do more of the persuasive work than the vocabulary itself."Bright and simple"是一个常见的双形容词描述,避开了任何设计专用词汇(比如"high-contrast"或"minimalist")——而说话人身为专业设计师,本可以合理地使用这些词——让语言对普通听者保持可及性,而不是追求技术上的精确。这个搭配很好地解释了招牌为什么成功,但它仍停留在Band 6.5所瞄准的日常、高频词汇范围内,而没有去追求更具体的说法。这种平实感贯穿整段答案,具体的结果(更多顾客、更高销量)比词汇本身承担了更多说服工作。
  • FCWhen I heard her say this, I felt really proud and a bit surprised too.The speaker states two feelings back to back using the common intensifiers "really" and "a bit," directly answering the "how did you feel" prompt without embedding the emotion in a more developed reflection or anecdote. This is a clear, functional response that hits the cue card point efficiently, satisfying the "one clear reason or example is enough" standard for Band 6.5 fluency. A stronger answer might instead show the feeling through action or detail (as the 7.5 sample elsewhere in this batch does with "I had to let a bus go") rather than naming it directly like this.
  • GRAShe told me that people used to walk past without noticing the shop at all, but the new sign was bright and simple, so it caught people's attention from the street. This long sentence links three ideas — the past problem, the contrast, and the result — using only the coordinators "but" and "so," without any subordinating conjunction to more tightly integrate the cause-and-effect relationship ("which meant it caught people's attention"). The reported speech opener ("she told me that...") does add one layer of embedding, but everything after it is coordinated rather than subordinated, the pattern the descriptor identifies as elementary sentence-building at Band 6.5. It remains fully accurate and easy to follow, just built from the most basic linking tools available.这个长句用连词"but"和"so"把三个想法——过去的问题、对比、以及结果——连接在一起,没有使用任何从属连词来更紧密地整合因果关系("which meant it caught people's attention")。转述引语的开头("she told me that...")确实增加了一层嵌套,但它之后的一切都是并列而非从属的,而这正是描述语所认定的Band 6.5初级造句模式。它依然完全准确、易于理解,只是用了现成最基础的连接工具搭建而成。
7.0 分

The added qualifier 'more than I expected to, actually' develops the emotional response beyond a flat statement, and the noun clause 'whether it would make a real difference to anyone' shows comfortable control of more complex sentence patterns typical of Band 7.0.追加的限定语'more than I expected to, actually'(说真的,比我预期的要强烈得多)把情感反应展开得超越了一句平铺直叙的陈述,而名词性从句'whether it would make a real difference to anyone'(它会不会真的给谁带来什么不同)则展现出对更复杂句式从容的掌控,是7.0分的典型特征。

The occasion I want to talk about was when a regular customer at the café where I used to work part-time told me she really loved the new menu I'd designed.

The person who said it was a woman called chi Linh, who came into the café most mornings for coffee before work. I didn't actually design menus professionally, but the owner knew I was studying graphic design, so she asked me to redesign the old one, which was honestly a bit messy and hard to read.

The kind of work I did was fairly simple, really. I reorganised the categories more clearly, added small icons next to the spicy dishes, and used a cleaner font throughout so customers could find things faster.

Chi Linh was positive about it because, as she explained to me one morning, she used to find the old menu confusing and would sometimes just order the same thing every time rather than bother reading it properly. With the new layout, she said she'd actually started trying new dishes because it was finally easy to see what was available.

When I heard her say this, I felt genuinely proud, more than I expected to, actually. It was a small, unpaid project I'd done mostly as a favour to the owner, so I hadn't really thought much about whether it would make a real difference to anyone. Hearing that it changed something as small as what a regular customer chose to order made me realise that design work, even something that simple, can actually affect people's everyday choices. It's one of the reasons I decided to keep studying design more seriously after that.

  • LRwhich was honestly a bit messy and hard to readThe relative clause pairs the spoken hedge "honestly" with the informal collocation "a bit messy," a flexible, conversational way of criticising the old menu design that sits comfortably above the plain, unhedged adjectives a Band 6.5 answer would likely use ("it was messy") but stops short of a more vivid or idiomatic phrase ("a bit of a mess to look at") that would push toward 7.5. "Hard to read" then adds a second, equally natural collocation in parallel, showing the speaker can pair two casual criticisms fluidly within one relative clause — exactly the "one natural collocation" plus comfortable flow the 7.0 descriptor targets.
  • FCWhen I heard her say this, I felt genuinely proud, more than I expected to, actually.Rather than stopping at "I felt proud," the speaker adds the self-aware qualifier "more than I expected to," which develops the emotional response into a small reflective observation about her own reaction rather than just naming a feeling. The closing "actually" then reinforces the sense of genuine surprise in natural spoken style. This layering — feeling, then a reflection on the feeling itself — is a step beyond the flat, single-adjective emotional statements typical of Band 6.5, and represents the fuller idea development the Band 7.0 descriptor asks for without needing the more figurative language a 7.5 answer would add.
  • GRAI hadn't really thought much about whether it would make a real difference to anyone. The "whether"-clause functioning as the object of "thought about" is a genuinely more complex structure than a simple "that"-clause, since it requires holding an embedded hypothetical question inside the main sentence rather than a straightforward reported statement. The past perfect "hadn't really thought" is also used correctly to mark this as true before the moment of hearing the compliment, showing comfortable control of tense sequencing alongside the complex clause. This combination — an embedded interrogative clause plus accurate tense sequencing — is exactly the "comfortable mix of simple and complex sentences, generally accurate" the Band 7.0 descriptor describes, without the denser layering that would mark it as 7.5.

The compressed image 'given her a Saturday' and the vivid narrative beat 'I read it at a bus stop and had to let a bus go' show the precise, idiomatic language and narrative control that define Band 7.5.凝练的意象'given her a Saturday'(等于是送了她一个星期六)以及生动的叙事细节'I read it at a bus stop and had to let a bus go'(我在公交站台上读的,结果不得不眼睁睁看一班车开走),都展现出7.5分特有的精准、地道的语言以及对叙事节奏的掌控力。

The occasion I'd describe was an email, forwarded to the studio by the hospital we'd worked with, from a woman I've never met who lives in Quảng Nam province.

Who said it: her name was Mrs Thu, and she wrote to the hospital, not to us, so the praise arrived second-hand. The hospital's director sent it on with one line: 'This is for the design team.'

What kind of work it was: the results screen on the hospital's app, the one for older patients. It shows a blood test result in one plain sentence, with a button that calls a nurse.

Why she was positive was her father. He was seventy-eight, he'd had a heart problem for years, and for all that time she'd driven ninety minutes to the hospital every month to collect his results and explain them, because he couldn't read the printed report and wouldn't ask. With the app, she wrote, he'd checked his own results on his phone in his kitchen, understood them, and phoned her to say he was fine — the first time in years he'd told her news about his own body rather than the other way round. She said he'd read the sentence out loud to her twice. She wanted the hospital to know that whoever made that screen had given her father back a small piece of his dignity, and given her a Saturday.

How I felt: I read it at a bus stop and had to let a bus go. I've had clients say the work was excellent, and none of it touched this, because she wasn't judging the design — she'd never noticed there was one. She was describing an old man in a kitchen reading a sentence. That's what the work is for, and it's very rare to be told so by the person it was for. I printed it. It's the only thing on my wall that isn't a drawing.

  • LRgiven her a Saturday"Given her a Saturday" compresses an entire implied backstory — the ninety-minute drives, the monthly hospital visits she no longer has to make — into three words, using "Saturday" metonymically to stand for free time she's regained, rather than spelling out literally "given her back a free day each month." This kind of economical, implication-carrying figurative language is precisely what the Band 7.5 descriptor means by "one figurative or idiomatic touch if it fits the moment" — it isn't decorative, it's doing real narrative compression that a Band 7.0 answer would more likely spell out in full sentences."Given her a Saturday"用三个词浓缩了一整段暗含的背景故事——那些九十分钟的车程、她不再需要去的每月医院探访——用"Saturday"作转喻,代表她重新获得的自由时间,而不是直白地说成"given her back a free day each month"。这种简练而富含言外之意的比喻语言,正是Band 7.5描述中所说的"如果契合当下情境,可以有一处比喻或习语式的点缀"——它不是装饰,而是在完成真正的叙事压缩,而Band 7.0的答案更可能会用完整的句子把这一切说出来。
  • FCI read it at a bus stop and had to let a bus go.Rather than naming the emotion directly ("I was very moved"), the speaker shows it through a small, vivid, verifiable action — missing a bus because reading the email absorbed her completely — which lets the listener infer the emotional weight rather than being told it. This show-don't-tell strategy is a genuinely reflective and evaluative choice about how to convey feeling, exactly the concrete, memorable narrative moment the Band 7.5 fluency descriptor calls for, well beyond the flat "I felt proud" pattern typical of Band 6.5 answers in this same batch.
  • GRAwhoever made that screen had given her father back a small piece of his dignityThe free relative clause "whoever made that screen" functions as the subject of an embedded reported-speech sentence, requiring the speaker to construct a fairly intricate grammatical frame (subject clause plus past perfect plus figurative object) entirely in real time — a noticeably more flexible structure than the simple "she said the design helped her father" a lower band would likely produce. The figurative object "a small piece of his dignity" adds precise, non-literal vocabulary on top of that complex frame, and the combination of the two — sophisticated grammar carrying sophisticated meaning — is exactly the varied, mostly error-free complex structure the Band 7.5 descriptor asks for.

Introduces the story with the plain, unelaborated connector 'For example,'.用平实、未加修饰的连接词 'For example,' 引出这个故事。

I think good parents give encouragement mostly for effort, not just results. For example, my sister praised her daughter a lot after a test she failed but had worked hard for, but she said almost nothing about an easy test the girl got a good mark on a week later. Parents also encourage children at the start of something new, like the first day of school. They encourage children after failures too, so the child does not think they are no good. I think parents should not encourage everything, because then praise stops meaning anything.

    • FCFor example,The plain 'For example,' opener signals the story flatly; 7.0 keeps the connector but embeds a dash-linked reflection right after it, and 7.5 removes the connector altogether, opening straight with 'My sister praised her daughter warmly'.平实的 'For example,' 开场白平淡地引出了故事;7.0保留了这个连接词,但紧接着嵌入了一个由破折号引出的反思分句,而7.5则完全去掉了连接词,直接以 'My sister praised her daughter warmly' 开头。
    • LRpraised her daughter a lot'praised her daughter a lot' is plain, general phrasing; 7.0 and 7.5 both sharpen this to the more precise 'praised her daughter warmly', a single adverb doing more evaluative work.'praised her daughter a lot' 是平实、笼统的表达;7.0和7.5都将其打磨成更精确的 'praised her daughter warmly',一个副词就承担了更多的评价功能。
    • GRAParents also encourage children at the start of something new, like the first day of school. This is a simple example sentence; 7.0 keeps a similar idea but adds 'a first attempt at something frightening' as a second example, and 7.5 compresses both examples into a punchy colon-led list, 'first steps, first day at school, first attempt at anything frightening'.这是一个简单的举例句;7.0保留了类似的想法,但加入了第二个例子 'a first attempt at something frightening';7.5则把两个例子都压缩进一个由冒号引出的简洁列举中:'first steps, first day at school, first attempt at anything frightening'。

Keeps the connector 'For example,' but immediately extends it into a dash-linked reflective clause.保留了连接词 'For example,',但立即将其延伸为一个破折号引出的反思分句。

I'd say good parents aim their encouragement at the effort rather than the result. For example, my sister praised her daughter warmly after a test she'd failed but had genuinely worked for, and said almost nothing about an easy A a week later - she encourages when the effort was real or the thing was hard. Parents also tend to encourage at beginnings, like a first day at school or a first attempt at something frightening. They encourage after failures too, to stop a child concluding they're simply no good. The one mistake, I think, is encouraging everything, which turns praise into background noise.

    • FCFor example, my sister praised her daughter warmly after a test she'd failed but had genuinely worked for, and said almost nothing about an easy A a week later - she encourages when the effort was real or the thing was hard.Keeping 'For example,' but immediately extending it into a dash-linked reflective clause is a more developed use of the connector than 6.5's bare version; 7.5 removes the connector completely and opens directly with the example itself.保留 'For example,',但立即延伸为一个破折号引出的反思分句,这比6.5分中平白的版本对连接词的运用更为成熟;7.5则完全去掉了这个连接词,直接以例子本身开头。
    • LRturns praise into background noise'background noise' is a fairly vivid metaphor; 7.5 trims this to the punchier single word 'noise', an even more compact and idiomatic final image.'background noise' 是一个相当生动的比喻;7.5将其精简为更有冲击力的单个词 'noise',是一个更紧凑、更地道的收尾意象。
    • GRAParents also tend to encourage at beginnings, like a first day at school or a first attempt at something frightening. This sentence lists two examples joined by 'or'; 7.5 restructures the same idea into a tighter colon-led list of three short noun phrases, 'first steps, first day at school, first attempt at anything frightening', for a punchier rhythm.这句用 'or' 连接列举了两个例子;7.5将同样的想法重组为一个由冒号引出、更紧凑的三项短名词短语列举:'first steps, first day at school, first attempt at anything frightening',节奏更为有力。

Opens with the noun phrase 'The good ones,' and tucks 'I'd argue' mid-sentence rather than at the front.以名词短语 'The good ones,' 开头,并把 'I'd argue' 藏在句子中间,而不是放在句首。

The good ones, I'd argue, aim it at the trying rather than the result. My sister praised her daughter warmly after a test she'd failed but had worked for, and said almost nothing about an easy A a week later - she encourages when the effort was real, the thing was hard, or the child is about to give up. Parents encourage at beginnings: first steps, first day at school, first attempt at anything frightening. They encourage after failures, to keep the child from concluding they're no good. And they encourage kindness and honesty when they see them, because those are the behaviours they most want repeated. The mistake is encouraging everything, which turns praise into noise.

Tells the two contrasting stories as separate sentences introduced by 'For example,' and 'But'.用 'For example,' 和 'But' 分别引出两个独立的句子,来讲述这两个形成对比的故事。

I think most people want to be recognised, but not everyone wants it in public. For example, I printed an email from my manager, Mrs Thu, and put it on my wall at home, where only a few people see it. But a colleague of mine shares every compliment he gets online, to thousands of followers. We both felt good for the same reason - someone noticed our work. Being recognised is almost a basic need, because work that nobody sees is hard to keep doing. But public attention also brings pressure and envy, so many people prefer a quiet compliment from someone they trust.

Most want recognition, I'd say, but fewer actually want it public - people differ more here than they admit. For example, I printed an email from my manager, Mrs Thu, and put it on my own wall, where perhaps four people ever see it; a colleague reposts every compliment he receives to a few thousand followers, and both of us were pleased for the same reason. Being recognised is close to a basic need; work that nobody sees is hard to sustain. But public recognition also brings scrutiny and envy, and plenty of people would rather have a quiet word from one person whose opinion they trust.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCI printed Mrs Thu's email and put it on my own wall, where perhaps four people see itDropping the connector 'For example,' and the fuller phrase 'an email from my manager, Mrs Thu,' in favour of the direct 'Mrs Thu's email' is a more economical, confident way of moving straight into the example.去掉了连接词 'For example,' 以及更完整的短语 'an email from my manager, Mrs Thu,',转而使用更直接的 'Mrs Thu's email',这是一种更经济、更自信的方式,直接切入例子。

Spells out cause and effect plainly with 'I think... because' rather than leading with the reason.用 'I think... because' 平白地阐明因果关系,而不是以理由开头。

I think children need encouragement because they cannot yet see their own progress. For example, my nephew stopped drawing after making one crooked line, because he thought the whole picture was ruined, until someone told him the sky part was good and he continued. Children often judge themselves by the last thing that happened, so one mistake can feel like a final judgement. Encouragement gives them a longer view of things. It also tells them which behaviours are good, since they cannot always tell by themselves. And it builds confidence to try new things they will be bad at first.

    • FCI think children need encouragement because they cannot yet see their own progress. This full sentence spells out cause and effect plainly with 'because'; 7.0 compresses this into the reason-first fragment 'Because they can't yet see their own progress, I'd say.', and 7.5 removes the hedge entirely for the bare fragment 'Because they can't yet see their own progress.'这个完整的句子用 'because' 平白地阐明了因果关系;7.0把它压缩成一个以理由开头的短语 'Because they can't yet see their own progress, I'd say.';7.5则完全去掉了缓和语,只留下这个不加修饰的短语 'Because they can't yet see their own progress.'

    • GRAEncouragement gives them a longer view of things. For example, I can still remember one harsh review of my work, word for word, even though it was years ago, but I could not repeat a single one of the many compliments the same project got. I think people believe criticism more easily because it feels like real information, while praise can feel like just politeness. But generally, one negative comment stays with us more than several positive ones.

The opposite, in my experience - I can quote one harsh review of my work word for word, years later, and I couldn't repeat a single one of the hundred compliments the same project received. People tend to believe criticism more readily because it feels like information, and praise feels more like politeness; negative comments also match the private doubts most people already carry. There are exceptions, of course - some people accept every compliment and dismiss every criticism, and they're genuinely exhausting to work with. Generally, though, one negative comment outweighs several positive ones, which is worth remembering when you're the one giving feedback.

The opposite, in my experience - I can quote one harsh review of my work word for word, years later, and I couldn't repeat a single one of the hundred compliments the same project received. People tend to believe criticism more readily because it feels like information, and praise feels like politeness; negative comments also match the private doubts most people carry. There are exceptions: some people accept every compliment and dismiss every criticism, and they're exhausting to work with. And praise from an unexpected source, like a stranger's email, tends to land where routine praise doesn't. Generally, though, one negative comment outweighs several positive ones, which is worth knowing when you're the one giving feedback.

    • FCThere are exceptions: some people accept every compliment and dismiss every criticism, and they're exhausting to work with.Using a colon instead of 7.0's 'of course -' to introduce the exception is a marginally tighter, more essay-like transition, trimming the hedge 'of course' that 7.0 still includes.用冒号取代7.0分中的 'of course -' 来引出例外,这是一个略微更紧凑、更像书面论说文的过渡方式,削去了7.0分中仍保留的缓和语 'of course'。
    • LRpraise from an unexpected source, like a stranger's email, tends to land where routine praise doesn'tThis extra observation, absent from 6.5 and 7.0, adds a further nuanced idea using the precise phrase 'routine praise', broadening the argument's range beyond the simpler exceptions clause.这个额外的观察,在6.5分和7.0分中都没有出现,它用精确的短语 'routine praise' 增添了一层更细致的想法,把论证的范围拓展到了更简单的例外从句之外。

Spells the stance out fully with 'Yes, I think so, and I have seen the results.'用 'Yes, I think so, and I have seen the results.' 完整地表明了立场。

Yes, I think so, and I have seen the results. There is a boy at my niece's school who has been told he is brilliant at everything since he was born, and now he cannot accept any correction at all - the first teacher who marked his work honestly was even reported to the head teacher. If you encourage everything, a child learns that praise is automatic, so it stops meaning anything. It can also stop them from experiencing failure and learning to recover from it. I think the answer is not less warmth, but more honest and specific praise.

    • GRAIf you encourage everything, a child learns that praise is automatic, so it stops meaning anything. This conditional 'If you... a child learns' sentence is plain and direct; 7.0 and 7.5 both restructure the same idea without the conditional, as 'Encouragement for everything teaches a child that praise is automatic', a more compact subject-first construction.这个 'If you... a child learns' 的条件句平实、直接;7.0和7.5都不用条件句而重组了同样的想法,变成 'Encouragement for everything teaches a child that praise is automatic',这是一个更紧凑的、以主语开头的结构。

Yes, and the results are pretty recognisable. There's a boy at my niece's school who's been told he's brilliant at everything since birth, and he now can't tolerate any correction at all; the first teacher who marked him honestly was reported to the head. Encouragement for everything teaches a child that praise is automatic, so it stops meaning anything, and it leaves them without the experience of doing badly and recovering. In Vietnamese culture, saying pleasant things is also a normal way to keep everyone comfortable. Uses the slightly clunky opener 'roughly according to' rather than a more natural collocation.使用了略显笨拙的开场表达 'roughly according to',而不是更自然的搭配。

I think they do, roughly according to how much the recognition gives them. The hospital director took the award our app received and used it to successfully ask for more funding for older patients - she used the recognition for something, instead of just keeping it. Recognised people have attention, and attention is something most causes do not have, so using none of it for anything beyond yourself feels wasteful. They also owe honesty about how the recognition happened. I would not say every famous person must become an activist, but doing no harm with the platform seems like the minimum.

    • FCroughly according to how much the recognition gives themThis opener uses 'roughly according to' - workable but slightly clunky; 7.0 and 7.5 both tighten this to the more natural collocation 'roughly in proportion to', a more precise, idiomatic phrase.这个开场用了 'roughly according to'——可以理解,但略显笨拙;7.0和7.5都将其收紧为更自然的搭配 'roughly in proportion to',是一个更精确、更地道的短语。
    • LRsomething most causes do not have'something most causes do not have' is plain description; 7.0 and 7.5 both upgrade this to 'a resource most causes lack', turning the idea into a sharper noun phrase with a more precise verb.'something most causes do not have' 是平实的描述;7.0和7.5都将其升级为 'a resource most causes lack',把这个想法变成了一个更犀利的名词短语,动词也更精确。
    • GRARecognised people have attention, and attention is something most causes do not have, so using none of it for anything beyond yourself feels wasteful. This long sentence chains three ideas with 'and... so'; 7.0 and 7.5 both split the same content across a semicolon instead, for a tighter, more deliberate rhythm.这个长句用 'and... so' 串联了三个想法;7.0和7.5都改用分号把同样的内容拆分开来,形成更紧凑、更从容的节奏。
    7.0 分

Tightens 6.5's slightly clunky opener into the more natural collocation 'roughly in proportion to'.把6.5分中略显笨拙的开场收紧为更自然的搭配 'roughly in proportion to'。

I think they do, roughly in proportion to how much the recognition gives them. The hospital director took the award our app received and used it to argue, successfully, for more funding for older patients - she treated recognition as something to spend rather than keep, which seems about right. Recognised people have attention, and attention is a resource most causes lack; using none of it for anything beyond themselves feels like waste. They also owe honesty about how the recognition happened, and credit to the people it missed. I wouldn't demand every famous person become an activist, though - the minimum is simply to do no harm with the platform.

    • FCroughly in proportion to how much the recognition gives themTightening 6.5's slightly clunky 'roughly according to' into the more natural 'roughly in proportion to' shows a small but real upgrade in idiomatic precision; 7.5 keeps this exact phrase unchanged, showing 7.0 had already found the right wording here.把6.5分中略显笨拙的 'roughly according to' 收紧为更自然的 'roughly in proportion to',展现出一个虽小却真实的地道性升级;7.5原封不动地保留了这个短语,说明7.0在这里已经找到了正确的措辞。
    • LRa resource most causes lackThis precise noun-based phrase is sharper than 6.5's wordier 'something most causes do not have'; 7.5 keeps the phrase identical, showing 7.0 had already reached the right register.这个以名词为核心的精确短语,比6.5分中更冗长的 'something most causes do not have' 更犀利;7.5保留了完全相同的短语,说明7.0已经达到了正确的语域。
    • GRAThey also owe honesty about how the recognition happened, and credit to the people it missed. This is the one moderately complex sentence expected at 7.0, joining two obligations with 'and'; 7.5 keeps this sentence almost unchanged but extends the closing part of the answer with two further short sentences for a fuller conclusion.这是7.0分中预期出现的那种中等复杂度的句子,用 'and' 连接了两项责任;7.5几乎原封不动地保留了这个句子,但在答案的结尾部分又加入了两句简短的句子,形成更完整的结论。
    7.5 分

Introduces the limit with the cleft construction 'Where I'd stop is...' rather than plain negation.用分裂句结构 'Where I'd stop is...' 来引出这一限度,而不是用平白的否定句。

The minimum is to do no harm with the platform and to remember who made it possible. Anything beyond that is admirable, not required.

    • FCWhere I'd stop is demanding that every famous person become an activist. This cleft 'Where I'd stop is...' construction is a more flexible, deliberate way of introducing a limit than 6.5's plain 'I would not say...' or 7.0's 'I wouldn't demand... though', both of which use more ordinary negation.这个分裂句结构 'Where I'd stop is...' 是一种比6.5分中平白的 'I would not say...' 或7.0分中 'I wouldn't demand... though' 更灵活、更从容的方式来引出这一限度,这两者用的都是更普通的否定句。
    • LRAnything beyond that is admirable, not required. This closing contrast, 'admirable, not required', is a compact, evaluative final judgement absent from both 6.5 and 7.0, giving the answer a sharper, more considered closing line.这个收尾的对比,'admirable, not required',是一个简练的、带评价性的最终判断,在6.5分和7.0分中都没有出现,为答案增添了一句更犀利、更周全的收尾。
    • GRAThe minimum is to do no harm with the platform and to remember who made it possible.Extending 7.0's single 'the minimum is simply to do no harm' into a two-part parallel infinitive structure ('to do no harm... and to remember...') packs in an additional idea within the same sentence, showing the fuller range typical of 7.5.把7.0分中单一的 'the minimum is simply to do no harm' 扩展为一个两部分并列的不定式结构('to do no harm... and to remember...'),在同一个句子中塞入了一个额外的想法,展现出7.5分典型的更全面的广度。
