The 6.5 answer describes the cardigan with simple, concrete facts in sequence ('It's grey, with big wooden buttons...') and a single direct reason for the gift, typical of plain Band 6.5 organisation.6.5分的答案用简单、具体的事实按顺序描述这件开衫(比如'它是灰色的,有大大的木质纽扣……'),只给出一个直接的理由来说明送礼的原因,是6.5分朴素组织结构的典型表现。
The item of clothing I want to describe is a grey wool cardigan that my grandmother in Hue knitted for me two years ago.
It looks quite simple. It's grey, with big wooden buttons down the front and long sleeves that are a little too long for me. The wool is thick and a bit rough, not soft like the sweaters you buy in shops, but very warm.
I wore it last winter on a trip up to Ba Na Hills with some friends. It gets much colder up there than in Da Nang, and I was the only one who didn't feel cold because of the cardigan. I've worn it a few more times since then, whenever the weather turns cool.
My grandmother gave it to me because she worries that Da Nang winters, even though they're mild, will make me sick since I don't have warm clothes here like I did in Hue. She knits something for everyone in the family every year, and this year it was my turn. It's not a fashionable piece of clothing at all, but every time I put it on, I think of her sitting by the window in Hue, knitting.

- LR“quite simple” — "Quite simple" is a vague, hedge-plus-adjective combination used to introduce the cardigan's appearance before the following sentences supply the actual concrete details (grey, wooden buttons, long sleeves). Rather than a more specific opening descriptor like "understated" or "plain-looking," the speaker chooses the most generic adjective available, letting the itemised details that follow do the real descriptive work — a pattern consistent with the everyday, high-frequency vocabulary ceiling of Band 6.5."Quite simple"是一个模糊的"缓和语+形容词"组合,用来在后面句子提供真正具体的细节(灰色、木质纽扣、长袖)之前,先引出这件开衫的外观。说话人没有选用像"understated"或"plain-looking"这样更具体的开场描述词,而是选择了现成最笼统的形容词,把真正的描写工作留给后面列举的细节去完成——这种模式符合Band 6.5日常、高频词汇的上限。
- FC“I wore it last winter on a trip up to Ba Na Hills with some friends.” — This sentence moves directly through two of the cue-card's implicit requirements — when and where the item was worn — in a single, simply structured sentence with two prepositional phrases ("last winter," "on a trip... with some friends") stacked onto the main clause. There's no elaboration on the experience of the trip itself here (that comes in the next sentence about the cold), so the sentence functions purely as an organisational marker moving the story forward, typical of the straightforward, cue-card-following structure Band 6.5 answers use.这句话在一个结构简单的句子里,用两个叠加在主句上的介词短语("last winter"、"on a trip... with some friends"),直接带过了cue card隐含的两个要求——什么时候穿的、在哪里穿的。这里没有对这次旅行本身的体验做任何展开(那要到下一句讲天冷才出现),所以这句话纯粹起到了推动故事前进的组织性标记作用,是Band 6.5答案典型的那种直白、紧跟cue card的结构。
- GRA“She knits something for everyone in the family every year, and this year it was my turn.” — The sentence states a general habit (knitting for everyone every year) and then a specific instance (this year, my turn) joined simply with "and," rather than subordinating the specific instance under the general habit with something like "and this year it happened to be my turn." This coordination pattern is accurate and clearly conveys both the general family tradition and its specific application to the speaker, but it's built from the most basic connective tool available, characteristic of Band 6.5 grammar.这句话先陈述一个普遍的习惯(每年为大家织毛衣),然后接一个具体的事例(今年轮到我了),两者只用"and"简单连接,而不是把这个具体事例从属于普遍习惯之下,比如说成"and this year it happened to be my turn"。这种并列模式准确,也清楚地传达了家庭的普遍传统及其在说话人身上的具体应用,但它是用现成最基础的连接工具搭建而成的,这正是Band 6.5语法的特征。
