The 6.5 answer gives a plain, self-aware admission ('I said yes before I checked my work schedule, which was not very smart') and lists the coping actions with simple 'and'-linked clauses.6.5分的答案给出一句朴素、带有自省意味的坦白(如'我没查工作日程就答应了,这不太明智'),并用简单的'and'(和)连接分句列出应对措施。
The time I want to talk about was last August, when I was extremely busy for about two weeks.
I was busy because two big things happened at the same time. My studio had a tight deadline for a café app we were building for a client, and at the same time my close friend Trang was getting married and asked me to help her plan the wedding. I said yes before I checked my work schedule, which was not very smart.
To deal with the situation, I made a simple list every morning of what had to be done that day. I worked extra hours at the studio, sometimes until nine or ten at night, and used my lunch breaks to call shops about flowers and food for the wedding. I also asked a colleague to help check some of my design work so I could save time. On weekends I stopped doing almost everything else, even my usual morning runs at My Khe Beach.
How I felt was mixed. During those two weeks I felt tired but also quite focused, like I didn't have time to worry about small things. After the wedding was over and the app was finally launched, I felt relieved but also very sleepy for days. I told myself never to promise two big things in the same month again.

- FC“I said yes before I checked my work schedule, which was not very smart.” — The relative clause 'which was not very smart' adds a single, plainly-stated self-criticism onto the factual account of agreeing to help with the wedding, giving the story a light evaluative note without expanding into deeper reflection on decision-making generally. It's a direct, honest aside rather than an elaborately hedged admission, and it sets up the practical consequences that follow with one clear, relatable observation — consistent with the 6.5 target of developing an idea with one clear point rather than a fuller reflective arc.
- LR“extra hours” — 'Extra hours' is the plainest possible way to describe working beyond normal time, used instead of more specific workplace vocabulary (overtime, late shifts) that might appear in a higher-band answer about the same period. It's immediately clarified with a concrete detail ('sometimes until nine or ten at night'), so the vague general phrase is grounded by specifics rather than needing to carry precision on its own — consistent with the 6.5 approach of plain vocabulary supported by concrete example.'Extra hours' 是描述超出正常工作时间最平实的说法,用来代替更具体的职场词汇(overtime、late shifts),而后者可能出现在同一时期的更高分数段答案中。
- GRA“I worked extra hours at the studio, sometimes until nine or ten at night, and used my lunch breaks to call shops about flowers and food for the wedding.” — Two parallel activities — working late and using lunch breaks for wedding calls — are joined with a single 'and', with the middle clause ('sometimes until nine or ten at night') inserted as extra detail rather than as its own grammatically distinct unit. The sentence is long but structurally simple: everything hangs off basic coordination rather than subordination, which keeps it accurate and easy to follow at the cost of the tighter, more varied linking a 7.0 answer describing the same double workload might use.
