6.5 分

The description is a simple, chronological list of actions ('We climbed... looked at... and then sat') with one plain closing reason, characteristic of a clear but modest Band 6.5 answer.描述是一连串简单的按时间顺序排列的动作('我们爬上……看了看……然后坐下'),结尾用一个平实的理由收尾,是清晰但略显朴素的6.5分答案的特征。

One special day I remember was a Saturday in March this year, when my friend Vy and I visited the Marble Mountains, which are about twenty minutes from my flat in Da Nang. We decided to go the night before, quite suddenly, because neither of us had any plans.

We left early, around six, before the weather got hot. We climbed the stone steps to the top, looked at the small pagodas and caves on the way, and then sat at the highest point looking out at the beach and the city below. We stayed there for almost two hours, taking photos and just talking. On the way down, we stopped at a small shop where a man was carving stone statues, and we watched him for a while.

We didn't spend much money at all. There was a small entrance ticket, and later we bought a bag of sticky rice from a lady selling it near the parking area. I think the whole day cost less than one normal lunch in the city.

I enjoyed it so much because it was relaxed and simple. We didn't plan anything special, we just went, and the view from the top was more beautiful than I expected. It reminded me that a good day out doesn't need much money, just good company and a nice place close by.

  • LRWe decided to go the night before, quite suddenly, because neither of us had any plans. This uses plain, everyday vocabulary throughout — "decided," "suddenly," "plans" — with no less-common word choices, describing the spontaneity of the trip in the most direct way available. It's accurate and clear, matching the 6.5 target, though a 7.0 answer might reach for a more specific phrase like "on a whim" in the same spot. The plainness here also matches the generally unplanned, low-key nature of the day being described.这句话全程使用平实、日常的词汇——"decided"、"suddenly"、"plans"——没有使用不常见的措辞,以最直接的方式描述了这次旅行的即兴性质。这样的表达准确清晰,符合6.5分的目标,不过7.0分的答案在同一处可能会用更具体的说法,比如 "on a whim"。这里的平实措辞也与所描述这一天总体上无计划、轻松随意的基调相契合。
  • GRAWe climbed the stone steps to the top, looked at the small pagodas and caves on the way, and then sat at the highest pointThree actions are coordinated with commas and "and," listing the sequence of the visit without any subordinate clause interrupting the flow. This is accurate and easy to follow, matching the mostly-simple, sequential sentence-building expected at 6.5, without the added complexity a relative or result clause would bring. It effectively narrates the physical journey up the mountain in the order it happened, which suits the descriptive purpose of this part of the answer.三个动作用逗号和 "and" 并列衔接,按顺序列出了这次游览的过程,中间没有任何从句打断行文的流畅。这样的表达准确且易于理解,符合6.5分所期望的、以简单句为主、按时间顺序展开的写法,而不带有关系从句或结果从句所增加的复杂度。它有效地按照实际发生的先后顺序叙述了登山的过程,契合了这部分回答的描述性目的。
  • FCIt reminded me that a good day out doesn't need much money, just good company and a nice place close by.This closes the answer with a single, direct takeaway, stated plainly without further elaboration on what "good company" specifically added to the day. At 6.5, this kind of clean, one-idea conclusion is sufficient to round off the response coherently; a 7.5 answer might unpack this into a more specific or figurative closing image instead. It mirrors the closing statement in several other 6.5 answers in this set, favouring a tidy general lesson over added detail.这句话以一个单一、直接的收获作结,平实地陈述,并未进一步阐述 "good company" 具体为这一天增添了什么。在6.5分水平,这种干净利落、只表达一个想法的结尾已足以让回答显得连贯;而7.5分的答案则可能将其展开成更具体或更有画面感的结尾意象。这与本组中其他几篇6.5分答案的收尾方式如出一辙,都倾向于给出一个简洁的普遍性感悟,而非增添细节。
7.0 分

The answer adds a specific concrete example (catching fish by hand, the muddy sections) and closes with a reflective generalisation, giving genuine development beyond 6.5's single-reason structure, though it relies on fewer varied structures than the 7.5 answer's long, layered sentences.答案加入了一个具体的例子(徒手抓鱼、泥泞的路段),并以一句带反思性的概括收尾,比6.5分那种单一理由的结构展现出更真实的发展,不过它使用的多样句式仍不如7.5分答案那些层层叠加的长句丰富。

The day out I'd talk about was a Saturday back in May, when my brother and I hiked up to a small waterfall called Suối Hoa, about forty minutes outside Da Nang, after seeing photos of it online the night before.

We left the house around six in the morning to avoid the heat, parked the motorbike near a small village, and then followed a dirt path through the forest for roughly an hour. It wasn't a difficult hike, but there were a few muddy sections where we nearly slipped, which we still laugh about now. When we finally reached the waterfall, there was hardly anyone else around, so we had the whole pool to ourselves for most of the morning. We swam, ate the sticky rice we'd brought from home, and my brother tried, unsuccessfully, to catch small fish with his bare hands.

What we spent money on was almost nothing — just fuel for the motorbike and a couple of bottles of water from a small stall near the parking area. I think the whole trip cost less than a normal coffee and cake at a café in the city.

Why I enjoyed it so much is partly the surprise of it, since we hadn't planned it properly and weren't even sure the waterfall would be worth the walk. It turned out to be one of the most peaceful mornings I've had in ages, without phones, without noise, just the sound of water and the forest around us. It also reminded me that some of the best days out don't need much organising or much money at all — just a decent map and a reason to get up early.

  • LRwe had the whole pool to ourselves"Had the whole pool to ourselves" is a natural, idiomatic-leaning collocation that a fluent speaker uses without thinking, distinct from a more literal or translated phrase like "there was nobody else in the pool." This fits the 7.0 target of vocabulary that reads fluently rather than sounding constructed, without being a genuinely rare word. It also emphasizes the surprise element the speaker highlights later as the reason the day felt special."Had the whole pool to ourselves"是一个自然、略带习语色彩的搭配,一个流利的说话者会不假思索地脱口而出,与更字面、更像翻译腔的说法(如"there was nobody else in the pool")截然不同。这符合Band 7.0所瞄准的目标——词汇读起来流畅自然,而不是显得刻意构造出来,同时又不算真正罕见的词。它也强调了说话人后文重点提到的那个意外元素,正是这一点让这一天显得格外特别。
  • GRAIt wasn't a difficult hike, but there were a few muddy sections where we nearly slipped, which we still laugh about now. This sentence combines a contrast clause, "but...," with a relative clause describing the muddy sections, "where we nearly slipped," and then a further relative clause reflecting on the memory, "which we still laugh about now," stacking three ideas into one accurate, naturally flowing sentence. It's the comfortable grammar range the 7.0 descriptor describes, more ambitious than a flat statement about the hike being easy or hard. The final clause also adds a small personal, present-tense touch that a plainer 6.5 sentence would likely omit.这句话把一个转折从句"but..."、一个描述泥泞路段的关系从句"where we nearly slipped",以及另一个回顾这段回忆的关系从句"which we still laugh about now"叠加在一起,把三层意思融进一个准确、流畅自然的句子里。这正是Band 7.0描述中那种从容的语法幅度,比单纯陈述徒步是难是易更有野心。最后那个从句还加入了一个现在时态的、个人化的小细节,一个更平实的Band 6.5句子很可能会省略这一点。
  • FCIt also reminded me that some of the best days out don't need much organising or much money at allThis closes with a reflective generalisation drawn from the specific anecdote, rather than simply restating that the trip was cheap and fun, which is the kind of development the 7.0 descriptor rewards over flat description. A 6.5 answer would likely end with something closer to "it didn't cost much and I enjoyed it." The generalisation also ties back neatly to the exact question being answered, a special day out that didn't cost much, giving the whole answer a clean thematic close.这一段以一个从具体轶事中提炼出来的反思性概括作结,而不是简单地重复这趟旅行既便宜又开心,这正是Band 7.0描述中看重的、超越平淡描述的发展方式。Band 6.5的答案很可能会用类似"it didn't cost much and I enjoyed it"这样的话来结尾。这个概括也巧妙地回扣了正在回答的问题本身——一次花费不多的特别出游——让整个回答有了一个干净利落的主题收束。
7.5 分

The quoted dialogue ('six a.m., no excuses') and the extended reflective closing image show natural narrative variety and evaluative depth typical of Band 7.5.引用的对话('早上六点,没有借口')以及延展的反思性结尾意象,展现出7.5分典型的自然叙事多样性和评价深度。

The day out I'd choose was a Sunday in April this year, when a colleague, Linh, and I cycled around the Sơn Trà peninsula, the forested mountain that sits at the north end of Da Nang's beach. We'd been talking for months about seeing the langurs there — the red-shanked douc — and Linh finally sent a message on Saturday night saying 'six a.m., no excuses'.

What we did was ride. The road climbs from the beach into the forest and then follows the coast, with the sea on one side and the trees on the other, and after about an hour we stopped at a bend where a man selling coconuts said the monkeys came down every morning around seven. They came: six or seven of them, orange-legged, moving through the branches above the road with complete indifference to us. We watched for forty minutes without talking. Then we rode on to the far side, swam at a small empty beach, and coasted home downhill in the afternoon heat.

What I spent money on was almost nothing. Two coconuts from the man at the bend, and a repair on my back tyre from a mechanic at the bottom of the hill who fixed the puncture in five minutes — altogether around sixty thousand đồng, less than one lunch in the city.

Why I enjoyed it so much, I think, is that it was the opposite of how I usually spend a free day, which is scrolling through options and then booking something that costs money and turns out to be fine. This cost nothing, was planned in one message, and gave me an image — those orange legs moving through the green — that I've thought about at my desk more times than anything I've ever paid for. Linh put a photo of the monkeys on the studio wall. Nobody has asked what the day cost, and I'd be embarrassed to say how little.

  • LRorange-legged, moving through the branches above the road with complete indifference to usThis is precise, visually specific language — "orange-legged" as a compound descriptor, "complete indifference" as a slightly abstract but exact characterization of animal behaviour — creating a vivid image rather than a generic description like "they didn't seem scared of us." A 7.0 answer would likely settle for the plainer version; this phrasing shows the several precise or less-common word choices the 7.5 lexical descriptor asks for, deployed within a single descriptive burst. It's also the visual payoff of the whole anecdote, the moment the early wake-up call and the ride were "for."
  • GRALinh finally sent a message on Saturday night saying 'six a.m., no excuses'.Embedding a short quoted phrase directly into the narrative sentence, rather than setting it off with a full reported-speech construction like "Linh said that we should leave at six," shows flexible sentence variety and confident control of how to integrate direct speech naturally into spoken narration. This is a subtler grammatical choice than a textbook complex sentence, but it demonstrates the same mostly-error-free range the 7.5 descriptor rewards, since quoting naturally inside a sentence is harder to do smoothly than a formal reported clause. It also injects some of the friend's personality and urgency directly into the story rather than summarizing it.
  • FCan image — those orange legs moving through the green — that I've thought about at my desk more times than anything I've ever paid forThis closing point evaluates the day's lasting impact, comparing an unpaid memory favourably against everything the speaker has ever paid for, rather than just describing what happened, which is exactly the reflective, evaluative closing the 7.5 descriptor calls for. A 7.0 answer would more likely just say the day was memorable and leave it there. It also directly answers the theme of the question, a day that didn't cost much, with an ironic twist implying the best things weren't for sale at all.这个收尾的观点评价了这一天带来的持久影响——将一段不花钱的回忆与说话者花钱买过的一切相比,认为前者更胜一筹,而不只是描述发生了什么,这正是7.5分描述所要求的那种反思性、评价性的结尾。7.0分的答案更可能只是说这一天很难忘,便就此打住。它也直接呼应了题目"一天花费不多"的主题,并带着一丝讽刺意味,暗示最好的东西其实根本就不是用钱能买到的。

Sticks to short, listed sentences joined by simple connectors like 'then' and 'But' to keep each group's routine separate and clear.全程坚持用简短、列举式的句子,以'then'和'But'这类简单的连接词把每个群体的行程分开、说清楚。

It depends on people's age. My parents always go to a pagoda in the morning, then a market, and then a relative's house in the afternoon. They never change this. Young people usually go to the beach, a café, or a shopping mall, or they ride a motorbike to the hills. Families like parks, waterfalls, and places where children can feed fish. In the city, many people walk around a lake on Sunday evening. But every day out has one thing in common: a long meal with lots of food.

    这要看人的年龄。我父母总是早上去寺庙,然后去市场,下午再去亲戚家。他们从来不改变这个安排。年轻人通常去海边、咖啡馆或购物中心,或者骑摩托车去山里。家庭则喜欢公园、瀑布,还有能让孩子喂鱼的地方。在城市里,很多人周日傍晚会绕着湖散步。但每一次出游都有一个共同点:一顿有很多菜的长时间聚餐。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCThey never change this.Short, blunt sentences like this one keep the answer easy to follow at 6.5, but the ideas stay listed rather than connected. The 7.0 version links a similar idea with a dash-set aside, and 7.5 folds it into one flowing clause ('it's never varied by so much as an hour'), giving the point more weight without extra length.像这样简短、直白的句子在6.5分中让答案容易理解,但各个想法始终是罗列出来的,而不是相互连接的。7.0版本用破折号标示的插入语连接了类似的想法,而7.5分则把它融入到一个流畅的分句里('it's never varied by so much as an hour'),在不增加长度的情况下让这一点更有分量。
    • LRa shopping mallThe vocabulary here is plain and functional, which is exactly what 6.5 calls for. At 7.0 the same list gains a light qualifier ('a café with a nice view'), and at 7.5 it becomes more idiomatic ('gravitate toward the beach'), showing a wider range of collocation for the same content.这里的词汇朴素、功能性强,这正是6.5分所要求的。到了7.0分,同样的列举加上了一个轻微的限定语('a café with a nice view'),而到了7.5分,则变得更加地道('gravitate toward the beach'),展现出对同一内容更宽泛的搭配范围。
    • GRABut every day out has one thing in commonThis is a simple compound sentence, correct but structurally basic, typical of 6.5. The 7.0 answer softens the same closing idea with a hedge, and 7.5 upgrades it into a more complex structure with an em-dash appositive, showing broader grammatical control.这是一个简单的并列句,正确但结构基础,是6.5分的典型表现。7.0分答案用缓冲语软化了同样的结尾想法,而7.5分则把它升级成一个带破折号同位语的更复杂结构,展现出更广泛的语法掌控力。
    7.0 分

Opens with the spoken hedge 'Honestly' and links the parents' routine with an em-dash aside rather than separate sentences, giving a more natural, reflective tone.以口语化的缓冲语'Honestly'开头,并用破折号插入语来连接父母的行程,而不是分开成句,给人一种更自然、更具反思意味的语气。

Honestly, it really depends on age. My parents, for example, have a fixed routine — a pagoda in the morning, a market at midday, and a relative's house in the afternoon — and I don't think they've ever changed it. Younger people, on the other hand, prefer the beach, a café with a nice view, or a motorbike trip into the hills, especially on a hot day. Families tend to go somewhere like a park or a waterfall, where kids can feed the fish. And in the cities, walking around a lake on Sunday night is almost a habit. I'd say food is what ties it all together, though.

    • FCHonestly, it really depends on age.The hedge 'Honestly' signals a more natural, reflective register than the flat statement 6.5 uses ('It depends on people's age'). It doesn't yet reach the fluid opening of 7.5 ('It really hinges on generation, to be honest'), but it clearly moves beyond a plain declarative.缓冲语'Honestly'传达出一种比6.5分那种平铺直叙的陈述('It depends on people's age')更自然、更具反思意味的语域。它还没达到7.5分那种流畅的开篇('It really hinges on generation, to be honest'),但明显超越了朴素的陈述句。
    • LRa fixed routineThis phrase is a step up from 6.5's bare listing of places, since it names the pattern rather than just describing it. It's less vivid than 7.5's 'ritualistic itinerary', which shows more precise, less common vocabulary for the same idea.这个短语比6.5分那种光秃秃罗列地点的方式更进一步,因为它命名了这种模式,而不仅仅是描述它。它不如7.5分的'ritualistic itinerary'那么生动,后者对同一概念使用了更精确、更不常见的词汇。
    • GRAand I don't think they've ever changed itThe dash-set structure here joins several ideas into one unit, more ambitious than the short sentences of 6.5. It is still a fairly straightforward clause chain, though, compared to 7.5's tighter phrasing of the same idea.这里用破折号标示的结构把几个想法连接成一个整体,比6.5分那种短句更有野心。不过,与7.5分对同一想法更紧凑的措辞相比,这仍然算是一个相当直白的分句链。
    7.5 分

Uses the idiomatic verb 'gravitate toward' and a closing em-dash tag ('that's the one constant') to pull every earlier example into one evaluative conclusion.使用了地道的动词'gravitate toward',并用结尾处破折号标注的短语('that's the one constant')把前面所有的例子都收拢到一个带评价性的结论里。

It really hinges on generation, to be honest. My parents have an almost ritualistic itinerary — a pagoda at dawn, a market by midday, a relative's house in the afternoon — and as far as I can tell, it's never varied by so much as an hour. Younger people gravitate toward the beach if they're near one, a café with a view, or a motorbike ride up into the hills to escape the heat. Families default to parks, waterfalls, and those touristy villages where kids can feed the fish. In the cities, meanwhile, the Sunday-evening stroll around a lake has become something close to a national ritual. But whatever the destination, no day out in Vietnam wraps up without a long, argued-over meal — that's the one constant.

    • FCBut whatever the destination, no day out in Vietnam wraps up without a long, argued-over mealThis closing sentence pulls every category mentioned earlier into one unifying statement, giving the answer a clear sense of conclusion. Compared with 6.5's flat 'But every day out has one thing in common', it reads as a deliberate, evaluative wrap-up rather than a simple final fact.这句结尾句把前面提到的每一个类别都收拢进一个统一的陈述里,让答案有了明确的收束感。与6.5分那句平淡的'But every day out has one thing in common'相比,它读起来更像是一个刻意的、带评价性的总结,而不是一个简单的最终事实。
    • LRgravitate toward the beach'Gravitate toward' is a precise, slightly idiomatic collocation that replaces the plain verb 'go' used at 6.5 and 7.0. It shows the kind of natural word choice examiners associate with the higher band, without sounding over-rehearsed.'Gravitate toward' 是一个精确、略带地道感的搭配,取代了6.5分和7.0分中使用的朴素动词'go'。它展现出考官会联想到更高分段的那种自然用词,同时又不会显得刻意背诵。
    • GRAan almost ritualistic itinerary — a pagoda at dawn, a market by midday, a relative's house in the afternoon —The em-dash structure here embeds a three-part list inside the main clause instead of listing it as separate sentences, which is more compact and flexible than either lower band's version. This kind of parenthetical insertion is a marker of the wider grammatical range expected at 7.5.这里的破折号结构把一个三部分的列举嵌入主句里,而不是分开成句列举,比两个较低分段的版本都更紧凑、更灵活。这种插入式的写法正是7.5分所要求的更宽广语法范围的标志。

Lists each point in its own short sentence, ending with a plain, directly stated two-sided conclusion.把每一点都放进自己独立的短句里列出来,并以一句朴素、直接陈述的两面性结论收尾。

Yes, I think so, but not always in a good way. For example, we found out that the monkeys come down at seven o'clock because someone posted it in a chat group. Technology helps people find cheap flights, new places and new hobbies easily. It also makes new kinds of leisure, like games and online groups. But my friend now spends his evenings choosing what to watch instead of actually watching something. So there are more choices, but people don't always have more real free time.

    是的,我这么认为,但不总是以好的方式体现出来。比如说,我们是因为有人在聊天群里发消息,才知道猴子每天七点会下山的。技术能帮助人们轻松找到便宜的机票、新的地方和新的爱好。它还创造出了新的休闲方式,比如游戏和线上社群。但我朋友现在每晚花在挑选看什么上的时间,比真正看内容的时间还多。所以选择是变多了,但人们不一定就拥有了更多真正的空闲时间。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCSo there are more choices, but people don't always have more real free time. This final sentence states the balanced conclusion directly and simply, which suits 6.5's plain, listed style. The 7.0 version reaches the same idea through a softer hedge, and 7.5 turns it into a more polished, almost aphoristic close, showing a clearer sense of building toward a conclusion.这句结尾句直接、简单地陈述了一个平衡的结论,这符合6.5分朴素、列举式的风格。7.0版本通过一个更柔和的缓冲语得出同样的想法,而7.5分则把它变成了一个更精致、近乎格言式的结尾,展现出更明显的向结论层层推进的感觉。
    • LRnew kinds of leisureThe vocabulary here is basic and repeats the word 'new' rather than varying it, which is typical of 6.5. The 7.0 answer varies this to 'entirely new kinds of leisure', and 7.5 upgrades it further to 'entirely new categories of leisure', showing a wider and more exact lexical choice.这里的词汇很基础,反复使用'new'这个词,而没有做出变化,这是6.5分的典型表现。7.0分答案把它变化为'entirely new kinds of leisure',而7.5分则进一步升级为'entirely new categories of leisure',展现出更宽泛、更精确的词汇选择。
    • GRABut my friend now spends his evenings choosing what to watch instead of actually watching something. This is a single, clear sentence with straightforward grammar, correct but unambitious. The higher bands keep the same core idea but extend it with an added consequence clause about options 'eating the very time it was meant to fill', showing greater range.这是一个语法直白、清晰明了的单句,正确但缺乏野心。更高分段保留了同样的核心想法,但用一个额外的结果分句把它延伸开来,提到选择"eating the very time it was meant to fill",展现出更宽广的语言范围。

Uses the hedge 'Honestly' and personifies technology ('technology found us that morning') to give the answer a more reflective, natural tone.使用了缓冲语'Honestly',并把技术拟人化('technology found us that morning'),让答案带上了更具反思意味、更自然的语气。

Honestly, it's a bit of both, and I've seen it in my own life. We only knew the monkeys came down at seven because someone in a local nature group chat had posted it — technology found us that morning, and it does the same for cheap flights, hidden beaches and hobbies people would never have discovered otherwise. It's also created entirely new kinds of leisure, like gaming and online communities. That said, a friend of mine now spends most evenings just choosing what to watch rather than watching. So yes, there are more opportunities, but I'd say whether people actually get more leisure out of them is less clear.

    • FCHonestly, it's a bit of both, and I've seen it in my own life. The hedge 'Honestly' and the personal framing make the opening sound like genuine spoken reflection, a step up from 6.5's flat 'Yes, I think so'. It is still a fairly simple two-clause sentence, though, compared with 7.5's more compact opening that folds the same idea into one flowing line.缓冲语'Honestly'和个人化的框架,让开篇听起来像是真实的口语反思,比6.5分那句平淡的'Yes, I think so'更进一步。不过,和7.5分那种把同样想法融进一条流畅语句里的更紧凑开篇相比,这仍然是一个相当简单的双分句句子。
    • LRhidden beachesThis is a more evocative phrase than the plain 'new places' used at 6.5, though it stays close to the source wording. At 7.5 the same phrase appears inside a more idiomatic construction ('stumble across'), a further step up in natural word choice.这个短语比6.5分中使用的朴素的'new places'更有感染力,不过还是比较贴近原文的措辞。到了7.5分,同样的短语出现在一个更地道的结构里('stumble across'),在自然用词方面又进一步提升。
    • GRAtechnology found us that morning, and it does the same for cheap flights, hidden beaches and hobbies people would never have discovered otherwiseThis sentence uses a personifying verb and a parallel structure with an embedded relative clause, more ambitious than 6.5's separate short sentences. It doesn't yet match 7.5's density, though, where a similar idea is compressed further with an idiomatic closing verb.这句话使用了拟人化的动词和带嵌入定语从句的对称结构,比6.5分那些分开的短句更有野心。不过它还没达到7.5分的密度,后者用一个地道的结尾动词把类似的想法进一步压缩了。

Yes and no, in a way I've come to notice in my own life. We only knew the monkeys would come down at seven because someone in a local nature group chat had posted it — technology found us that morning, just as it finds people cheap flights, hidden beaches and hobbies they'd never otherwise stumble across. It has also spawned entirely new categories of leisure: gaming, online communities, learning almost anything from a screen. Yet a friend of mine now spends most of his free evenings choosing what to watch rather than actually watching, and the sheer glut of options can end up eating the very time it was meant to fill. More opportunities, certainly — whether people end up with more genuine leisure is a different question altogether.

    • FCMore opportunities, certainly — whether people end up with more genuine leisure is a different question altogether. This closing uses a deliberate sentence fragment followed by a balanced contrast, which reads as a confident, considered conclusion. It's a noticeably more crafted ending than 6.5's plain 'So there are more choices, but...' and slightly more compact than 7.0's hedge-based version.这个结尾使用了一个刻意的句子片段,后面接上一个平衡的对比,读起来像是一个自信、经过深思熟虑的结论。这明显比6.5分那种朴素的'So there are more choices, but...'更经过雕琢,也比7.0分那种基于缓冲语的版本略微更紧凑。
    • LReating the very time it was meant to fillThis is a vivid, slightly idiomatic image for the idea that entertainment options waste the time they should save, well beyond the plain vocabulary of 6.5. It shows the kind of precise, natural phrasing that distinguishes 7.5 from 7.0's more literal 'rather than watching'.这是一个生动、略带地道感的意象,表达了娱乐选项浪费了它本该节省的时间这个想法,远远超出了6.5分朴素的词汇。它展现出那种精确、自然的措辞,正是这一点把7.5分和7.0分那种更直白的'rather than watching'区分开来。
    • GRAIt has also spawned entirely new categories of leisure: gaming, online communities, learning almost anything from a screen. The colon introduces a compact list that functions as an extension of the main clause, avoiding the need for separate sentences. This flexible punctuation is more advanced than 6.5's simple listing sentence and slightly tighter than 7.0's version of the same list.冒号引出一个紧凑的列举,作为主句的延伸,避免了分开成句的需要。这种灵活的标点用法比6.5分那种简单的列举句更高级,也比7.0分对同一列举的版本略微更紧凑。

States the old-versus-new contrast in short, separate sentences, ending on a plain final fact about the six-day working week.用简短、分开的句子陈述了新旧对比,并以一个关于六天工作制的朴素事实收尾。

I think the biggest change is that leisure now has to look good or be special. My grandmother's leisure was just sitting on the doorstep and talking to her neighbours, and nobody thought it needed to be exciting or shown to anyone. Now, people feel a free Sunday should give them something, like a nice photo or a new experience. If it doesn't, they can feel a bit guilty. But at least people expect to have leisure time at all, because my grandmother's generation worked six days and rested only one.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCNow, people feel a free Sunday should give them something, like a nice photo or a new experience. This sentence states the contrast plainly and in one go, which fits 6.5's direct style. The 7.0 version reaches for the same contrast using a more reflective frame, and 7.5 sharpens it into a punchier claim ('leisure has turned into something you're supposed to perform well'), showing a clearer editorial voice.这句话一次性、朴素地陈述了对比,符合6.5分那种直接的风格。7.0版本用一个更具反思性的框架来表达同样的对比,而7.5分则把它锐化成一个更有力的论断('leisure has turned into something you're supposed to perform well'),展现出更清晰的评论性声音。
    • LRsitting on the doorstep and talking to her neighboursThe wording here is plain and close to everyday speech, which suits 6.5. At 7.5 the same image is followed by the idiomatic addition 'it simply was what it was', giving the same memory more evaluative colour.这里的措辞朴素,接近日常口语,这符合6.5分的要求。到了7.5分,同样的意象后面加上了地道的补充'it simply was what it was',给同一段记忆增添了更多评价性的色彩。
    • GRAIf it doesn't, they can feel a bit guilty. This is a short, simple conditional, correct but basic in structure. The 7.5 answer folds a similar idea into a longer sentence with an embedded clause ('and there's a nagging guilt when it doesn't'), showing more grammatical flexibility for the same content.这是一个简短、简单的条件句,正确但结构基础。7.5分答案把类似的想法融入到一个带嵌入分句的更长句子里('and there's a nagging guilt when it doesn't'),对同样的内容展现出更强的语法灵活性。

Honestly, I'd say the main change is that leisure has become something you're expected to do well. My grandmother's idea of leisure was sitting on the doorstep chatting with the neighbours, and nobody expected it to be memorable or worth photographing. These days, a free Sunday feels like it should produce something — a nice photo, a new experience — and people feel a little guilty if it doesn't. 为什么是这个分数

    • FCHonestly, I'd say the main change is that leisure has become something you're expected to do well. The hedge 'Honestly, I'd say' softens the claim and makes it sound like a considered opinion rather than a flat fact, a step beyond 6.5's direct 'I think the biggest change is...'. It is still a fairly plain sentence structure, though, compared with 7.5's more compressed and idiomatic version.缓冲语'Honestly, I'd say'软化了这个论断,让它听起来像是经过深思熟虑的观点,而不是一个平淡的事实,比6.5分那句直接的'I think the biggest change is...'更进一步。不过,和7.5分那种更凝练、更地道的版本相比,这仍然是一个相当朴素的句子结构。
    • LRworth photographingThis is a slightly more compact and natural way of expressing the idea than 6.5's 'shown to anyone', though it remains fairly literal. 7.5 pushes the same idea further with an added evaluative flourish ('it simply was what it was') that 7.0 doesn't reach.这是表达这个想法比6.5分的'shown to anyone'略微更紧凑、更自然的方式,不过它仍然相当直白。7.5分用一个额外的评价性笔触('it simply was what it was')把同样的想法进一步推进,这是7.0分没有达到的。
    • GRAThese days, a free Sunday feels like it should produce something — a nice photo, a new experience — and people feel a little guilty if it doesn't.The em-dash aside embeds examples inside the main clause rather than listing them separately, more ambitious than 6.5's two short sentences. It is a little less dense, though, than 7.5's version, which adds a third example and a sharper final clause.破折号插入语把例子嵌入主句里,而不是分开列举,比6.5分那两个短句更有野心。不过它还是比7.5分那个添加了第三个例子和一个更锐利结尾分句的版本略微不那么密集。

To be fair, the biggest shift is that leisure has turned into something you're supposed to perform well. My grandmother's leisure was sitting on the doorstep talking to neighbours, and nobody expected it to be improving, memorable or worth showing anyone — it simply was what it was. Nowadays a free Sunday feels incomplete unless it produces something: a photo, a fresh experience, a personal best, and there's a nagging guilt when it doesn't. Expectations of variety have crept up too; the same picnic week after week would once have been unremarkable and now feels almost like a failure. At least we've gained the expectation of leisure itself — her generation worked six days and rested one. We've gained the time and half-lost the knack of wasting it happily.

    • FCWe've gained the time and half-lost the knack of wasting it happily. This closing line plays on the earlier idea with a neat, balanced structure and an unusual phrase ('the knack of wasting it happily'), giving the answer a memorable, evaluative ending. Neither 6.5 nor 7.0 attempts this kind of wordplay; they end on more literal statements of fact.这句结尾用一个整齐、平衡的结构和一个不寻常的短语('the knack of wasting it happily'),对前面的想法进行了呼应发挥,给答案带来了一个令人印象深刻、带评价性的结尾。6.5分和7.0分都没有尝试这种文字游戏;它们都以更直白的事实陈述结尾。
    • LRa nagging guilt when it doesn't'Nagging guilt' is a more precise, idiomatic collocation than the plain 'feel a bit guilty' used at 6.5 and 'a little guilty' at 7.0. It shows the kind of natural, low-frequency vocabulary examiners reward at 7.5.'Nagging guilt' 是一个更精确、更地道的搭配,比6.5分中朴素的'feel a bit guilty'和7.0分中的'a little guilty'更进一步。它展现出考官在7.5分中会给予奖励的那种自然、低频的词汇。
    • GRAthe same picnic week after week would once have been unremarkable and now feels almost like a failureThis sentence balances two time periods within one flowing clause using a parallel structure ('would once have been... now feels...'), more sophisticated than the shorter, separated sentences used at 6.5 and 7.0 for the same comparison.这句话用一个对称结构('would once have been... now feels...')在一个流畅的分句里平衡了两个时期,比6.5分和7.0分中用来做同样对比的更短、更分开的句子更老练。

But a resort day I paid two million đồng for last year — I honestly can't remember much except the price. Money can buy comfort, like a taxi instead of a crowded bus. 为什么是这个分数

    • FCBut a resort day I paid two million đồng for last year — I honestly can't remember much except the price. The contrast is given as a clear, self-contained sentence, easy to follow but structurally simple. The 7.0 and 7.5 versions merge both halves of the comparison into a single balanced sentence with 'whereas' or 'while', which reads as more fluent and more clearly connected.这个对比是以一个清晰、独立完整的句子给出的,容易理解,但结构简单。7.0和7.5版本把对比的两半合并成一个用'whereas'或'while'连接的平衡句子,读起来更流畅,连接也更清晰。
    • LRMoney can buy comfortThis is plain, functional vocabulary appropriate for 6.5. The higher bands extend the same idea with a stronger verb phrase ('clears obstacles out of the way'), showing wider and more precise collocation.这是适合6.5分的朴素、功能性词汇。更高分段用一个更强的动词短语('clears obstacles out of the way')延伸了同样的想法,展现出更宽泛、更精确的搭配。
    • GRASpending too much can even make a normal day feel disappointing.A simple modal sentence, grammatically correct but basic. 为什么是这个分数

    • FCwhereas a resort day-pass I bought last year cost two million and I remember almost nothing beyond the price tagConnecting both halves of the story with 'whereas' creates a single fluent comparison instead of two separate statements, more advanced than 6.5's split sentences. It is a little less compact, though, than 7.5's version, which folds in an extra descriptive detail.用'whereas'把故事的两半连接起来,创造出一个流畅的对比,而不是两个分开的陈述,比6.5分那种分裂的句子更高级。不过还是比7.5分那种融入了额外描述性细节的版本略微不那么紧凑。
    • LRa table instead of a queueThis concrete, parallel example is reused from the original idea but phrased economically. At 7.5 the same list is preceded by more vivid verbs ('clears obstacles out of the way'), giving identical content a slightly sharper edge.这个具体、对称的例子沿用了原本的想法,但措辞更经济。到了7.5分,同样的列举前面加上了更生动的动词('clears obstacles out of the way'),让相同的内容多了一点锐利感。
    • GRAfor some things, like a concert, there's simply no free optionThis clause uses a natural inserted example within the main sentence, a step up from a fully separate sentence at 6.5. It's still slightly more direct than 7.5's phrasing, which adds an extra qualifying clause ('a concert being the obvious one').这个分句在主句里自然地插入了一个例子,比6.5分那种完全独立的句子更进一步。不过它还是比7.5分那种措辞略微更直接一点,后者加上了一个额外的限定分句('a concert being the obvious one')。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCIf anything, spending big just inflates expectations until ordinary pleasure starts to feel like a letdown. This closing sentence builds a small cause-and-effect chain in one flowing structure, giving the answer a clear evaluative finish. It is more developed than 6.5's short final sentence and 7.0's simpler 'raises your expectations', which stops one step short of stating the consequence.这句结尾句在一个流畅的结构里构建了一条小小的因果链,给答案带来了明确的评价性结尾。它比6.5分那句简短的结尾句和7.0分那种更简单的'raises your expectations'更完整,后者在陈述后果之前就停下了一步。
    • LRset me back sixty thousand đồng'Set me back' and 'splashed out' are idiomatic money verbs that replace the plain 'cost' and 'paid' used at 6.5 and 7.0. This kind of natural, varied vocabulary for a repeated concept is exactly what separates 7.5 from the lower bands.'Set me back' 和 'splashed out' 是地道的金钱类动词,取代了6.5和7.0分中使用的朴素的'cost'和'paid'。对一个反复出现的概念使用这种自然、多样的词汇,正是7.5分区别于较低分段的关键所在。
    • GRAThat Sunday on the peninsula set me back sixty thousand đồng, and I can still narrate every hour of it, while a resort day-pass I splashed out two million on last year has left almost no trace beyond the receipt. This single sentence carries the whole comparison — two clauses joined by 'while', each with its own embedded detail — without breaking into separate sentences. That density and control over a long sentence is more ambitious than the shorter, more segmented versions at 6.5 and 7.0.这一整句承载了整个对比——两个用'while'连接的分句,每个分句都有各自嵌入的细节——而没有拆分成多个句子。这种密度以及对一个长句的掌控力,比6.5和7.0分那种更短、更分段的版本更有野心。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCBut I also missed my friend's jokes and the moment we saw the monkeys together. This adds the second half of the comparison as its own separate sentence, which is clear but a little disconnected from the sentence before it. The higher bands merge both halves into a single sentence with a dash, giving a smoother sense of one continuous thought.这里把对比的后半部分作为一个独立的句子加进来,清晰明了,但和前面那句话之间有点脱节。更高分段用破折号把两半合并成一个句子,营造出一种更流畅、一气呵成的感觉。
    • LRAlone, you notice more things around you.'Notice more things' is a general, everyday phrase. The 7.5 version narrows this to the more precise pairing 'suits looking and thinking', packaging the same idea into a tighter, more evaluative phrase.'Notice more things' 是一个笼统的日常短语。7.5版本把它收窄成了更精确的搭配'suits looking and thinking',把同样的想法包装进一个更紧凑、更具评价性的短语里。

At the same time, I missed my friend's running commentary and that shared silence when the monkeys appeared. I'd say when you're alone you set your own pace and notice more, whereas with friends you feel more, because the memory has a witness. I think most people need both kinds of day, but tend to default to one and forget the other exists.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCI'd say when you're alone you set your own pace and notice more, whereas with friends you feel more, because the memory has a witness. The 'whereas' construction directly balances the two halves of the comparison in one sentence, flowing better than 6.5's two separate sentences. It is slightly less tightly packed, though, than 7.5's semicolon version, which achieves the same balance with less connective scaffolding.'whereas'结构在一个句子里直接平衡了对比的两半,比6.5分那两个分开的句子更流畅。不过它还是比7.5分那个用分号构成的版本略微不那么紧凑,后者用更少的连接支架实现了同样的平衡。
    • LRa bit strangerThis is a mild, safe intensifier. 7.5 replaces the equivalent phrase with 'somehow stranger', a small but more natural, native-sounding choice for the same idea.这是一个温和、保守的强调语。7.5用'somehow stranger'取代了对应的短语,对同样的想法做出了一个虽小但更自然、更接近母语者语感的选择。
    • GRAI noticed birds I'd missed the first time because I'd been talkingThis sentence uses a past perfect correctly to sequence two past events, more advanced than the simple past used throughout 6.5. It matches 7.5's grammar here but 7.5 goes on to embed this clause inside a longer sentence rather than standing it alone.这句话正确地使用了过去完成时来排列两个过去事件的顺序,比6.5分通篇使用的一般过去时更高级。这里的语法和7.5分相当,但7.5分接下来把这个分句嵌入到一个更长的句子里,而不是让它独立成句。
    7.5 分

Opens with 'On balance' before the final judgement and uses a semicolon to balance two parallel clauses ('Solitude... suits...; company suits...'), giving the answer a weighed, confident shape.在最终的判断之前用'On balance'开头,并用分号平衡了两个对称的分句('Solitude... suits...; company suits...'),给答案带来一种经过权衡、自信的形态。

Completely different, and I happen to have tested it both ways on the exact same trip. I went back to Sơn Trà alone a month later, and the ride was slower, quieter and somehow stranger — I noticed birds I'd missed the first time round simply because I'd been busy talking, and I missed my friend's running commentary and the shared silence when the monkeys finally appeared. Solitude, I'd say, suits looking and thinking, since you set your own pace and see more; company suits laughter and courage, because you'll try things in a group you'd never risk alone. On balance, I think a person needs both kinds of day, and most people default to one and quietly forget the other exists.

    • FCOn balance, I think a person needs both kinds of day, and most people default to one and quietly forget the other exists. The discourse marker 'On balance' signals a considered, weighed conclusion, giving the ending more rhetorical shape than 6.5's plain 'I think' or 7.0's similar phrasing. It reads as the natural, confident close of a fully developed argument.话语标记'On balance'表示一个经过深思熟虑、权衡过的结论,比6.5分朴素的'I think'或7.0分类似的表达,给结尾带来了更强的修辞感。它读起来像是一个完整论证的自然、自信的收尾。
    • LRcompany suits laughter and courageThis is a compact, almost aphoristic way of stating a contrast that the lower bands spell out more plainly. The precision and economy of phrasing here is characteristic of 7.5 lexis.这是一种紧凑、近乎格言式的方式来陈述一个对比,而较低分段则把它说得更直白。这里措辞的精确和经济,正是7.5分词汇的特征。
    • GRASolitude, I'd say, suits looking and thinking, since you set your own pace and see more; company suits laughter and courage, because you'll try things in a group you'd never risk alone. This sentence uses a semicolon to balance two parallel structures against each other, a more sophisticated punctuation choice than anything in 6.5 or 7.0. The matching grammatical shape in both halves is a clear marker of wide grammatical range.这句话用分号把两个对称结构相互平衡起来,这是一种比6.5或7.0分中任何用法都更老练的标点选择。两半在语法形态上的对应,是宽广语法范围的明显标志。

Closes with a short, blunt summary sentence stating the conclusion plainly, in keeping with 6.5's list-then-conclude structure.以一句简短、直白的总结句收尾,朴素地陈述了结论,这符合6.5分那种先列举再总结的结构。

Definitely not. On that climb, some cyclists overtook us, and they must have been about seventy years old. They were fast and were even chatting while riding. I think being active in your free time depends more on habit and health than on age. Older people here play badminton, swim, or dance in the parks. The problem is that society expects them to just sit and rest. Young people are the ones I often see spending a whole day out looking at their phones. So age isn't the main reason.

    • FCSo age isn't the main reason.A short, blunt summary sentence that states the conclusion plainly, typical of 6.5's list-then-conclude structure. 7.0 and 7.5 both build toward a more specific, evidence-based conclusion about staying active at forty leading to staying active at seventy, which reads as more developed.一句简短、直白的总结句,朴素地陈述了结论,是6.5分那种先列举再总结结构的典型表现。7.0和7.5都构建出了一个更具体、以证据为基础的结论,关于四十岁时保持活跃会带来七十岁时依然活跃,读起来更完整。
    • LRThe problem is that society expects them to just sit and rest.'The problem is' is a very generic, common phrase. The higher bands replace the equivalent idea with the more precise contrast 'what they lack isn't ability but permission', a noticeably more exact and idiomatic way of making the same point.'The problem is' 是一个非常笼统、常见的短语。更高分段用更精确的对比'what they lack isn't ability but permission'取代了同样的想法,这种表达方式明显更精确、更地道。
    • GRAThey were fast and were even chatting while riding. Two short clauses joined loosely by 'and', simple and correct. 7.5 compresses a similar image into a single clause with a simile ('chatting away as if the hill were flat'), a more advanced structure for the same content.两个用'and'松散连接的短分句,简单正确。7.5把类似的意象压缩进一个带明喻的单一分句里('chatting away as if the hill were flat'),对同样的内容用了一个更高级的结构。
    7.0 分

Uses a semicolon to link the badminton example to a sharper 'not ability but permission' contrast, giving more shape than a flat list.用分号把打羽毛球的例子和一个更犀利的对比'not ability but permission'连接起来,比平淡的列举更有形态。

Definitely not — on that climb, Linh and I were overtaken by a group of cyclists who must have been in their seventies, riding in matching shirts and chatting as they passed us. I'd say active leisure depends far more on habit and health than on age. Older people here play badminton at dawn, swim, or dance in the parks; what they often lack isn't ability but permission, since society expects them to just sit quietly. Young people are the ones I often see spending a whole day out glued to a phone. So I think anyone who stays active at forty will still be active at seventy.

    • FCI'd say active leisure depends far more on habit and health than on age.The hedge 'I'd say' plus the intensifier 'far more' gives this a more considered, spoken-argument feel than 6.5's flat statement. It doesn't yet have 7.5's more forceful verb choice ('hinges on'), which sharpens the claim further.缓冲语'I'd say'加上强调语'far more',让这句话比6.5分那种平淡的陈述更有经过深思熟虑的口语论证感。它还没有达到7.5分那种更有力的动词选择('hinges on'),后者进一步锐化了这个论断。
    • LRglued to a phoneThis is a nicely idiomatic phrase, a step up from a purely literal description. It matches the phrase 7.5 also uses, though 7.5 surrounds it with an added ironic framing word ('ironically') that adds evaluative colour.这是一个相当地道的短语,比纯粹直白的描述更进一步。它和7.5也使用的短语相同,不过7.5在周围加上了一个带反讽意味的框架词('ironically'),增添了评价性的色彩。
    • GRAwhat they often lack isn't ability but permission, since society expects them to just sit quietlyThis uses a 'not X but Y' contrastive structure plus a 'since' clause of reason, combining two ideas in one sentence. It's more complex than 6.5's separate short sentences, though slightly less tightly integrated than 7.5's version, which adds a further parallel clause immediately after.这里使用了'not X but Y'的对比结构,再加上一个表示原因的'since'分句,把两个想法结合进一个句子里。这比6.5分那些分开的短句更复杂,不过还是比7.5分那种版本略微整合得不那么紧密,后者紧接着又添加了一个对称的分句。
    7.5 分

Closes with a proverb-like semicolon pair ('Age brings time and patience; youth brings recovery') that neither lower band attempts.以一对像谚语一样、用分号连接的短句('Age brings time and patience; youth brings recovery')收尾,两个较低分段都没有尝试过这一点。

Definitely not — on that very climb, Linh and I were overtaken by a pack of cyclists who must have been averaging seventy in their matching shirts, chatting away as if the hill were flat. Active leisure, I'd argue, hinges on habit and health far more than on age. Older people here play badminton at dawn, swim, walk the beach or dance in the parks; what they lack is usually permission rather than ability, since society still expects them to sit quietly and rest. Young people, ironically, are the ones I most often catch spending an entire day out glued to a phone. Age brings time and patience; youth brings recovery — and anyone who's stayed active at forty will generally still be active at seventy.

    • FCAge brings time and patience; youth brings recoveryThis semicolon-balanced pair gives the closing a neat, memorable, almost proverbial quality that neither lower band attempts. It's the kind of compact rhetorical patterning that marks a confident, higher-level close.这对用分号平衡的短句,给结尾带来了一种整齐、令人印象深刻、近乎谚语式的特质,两个较低分段都没有尝试过。这种紧凑的修辞模式,正是一个自信、更高水平结尾的标志。
    • LRchatting away as if the hill were flatThis is a vivid, idiomatic image that goes well beyond the literal 'chatting while riding' of 6.5 or the plainer 'chatting as they passed us' of 7.0. It shows the kind of natural, picturesque language that distinguishes 7.5.这是一个生动、地道的意象,远远超出了6.5分那种直白的'chatting while riding',或者7.0分那种更朴素的'chatting as they passed us'。它展现出那种自然、富有画面感的语言,正是7.5分的特征所在。
    • GRAwhat they lack is usually permission rather than ability, since society still expects them to sit quietly and restThis sentence reverses the order of the contrast pair compared with 7.0's version and adds a further descriptive phrase, showing flexible control over how the same grammatical structure can be varied. That flexibility, not just correctness, is what 7.5 grammar rewards.

    • FCThe second time worked because the sky was clear.A short cause-and-effect sentence, easy to follow but very literal. 7.0 links this to the previous sentence with 'and', while 7.5 adds the evaluative word 'finally', giving the same fact a slightly more reflective tone.一个简短的因果句,容易理解,但很直白。7.0用'and'把它和前一句连接起来,而7.5则加上了评价性的词'finally',给同样的事实增添了一点更具反思意味的语气。
    • LRthe road turned into a streamThis vivid image is carried over from the source material and kept largely intact across all three bands, but at 6.5 it stands alone in a short sentence. At 7.5 it's folded into a longer sentence with more surrounding descriptive detail, showing better integration rather than new vocabulary alone.这个生动的意象是从素材原文中沿用下来的,在三个分段中基本保持不变,但在6.5分中,它是独立存在于一个短句里的。到了7.5分,它被融入到一个更长的句子里,周围有了更多的描述性细节,展现出更好的整合能力,而不只是新词汇。
    • GRARain cancels beach trips and picnics.A short, simple present-tense sentence. 7.5 intensifies the same claim with a stronger verb and idiom ('rain wipes out beaches and picnics in one stroke'), showing a more advanced and varied verb choice for a basic structure.一个简短、简单的现在时句子。7.5用一个更强的动词和习语('rain wipes out beaches and picnics in one stroke')强化了同样的论断,对一个基础结构展现出更高级、更多样的动词选择。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCHonestly, enormously — and it often decides whether the day happens at all.Opening with a one-word emphatic answer followed by a dash-linked consequence is more confident and spoken-style than 6.5's flatter 'Weather has a big effect'. It's close to 7.5's version but 7.5 drops the explicit hedge 'Honestly', relying on rhythm alone for effect.以一个强调性的单字回答开头,后面接上一个用破折号连接的结果,比6.5分那种更平淡的'Weather has a big effect'更自信、更有口语风格。它接近7.5分的版本,但7.5分去掉了明确的缓冲语'Honestly',单纯依靠节奏来产生效果。
    • LRsends pretty much everyone indoors'Sends... indoors' personifies the heat in a mildly natural way. 7.5 pushes this further with 'drives everyone indoors', a slightly stronger and more idiomatic verb for the same idea.'Sends... indoors' 以一种温和自然的方式把炎热拟人化了。7.5用'drives everyone indoors'把这一点又推进了一步,对同样的想法使用了一个略微更强、更地道的动词。
    • GRAI'd say weather shapes the mood too, since the same walk can feel like a joy in a breeze and an ordeal in humidity. This sentence balances two contrasting prepositional phrases around the shared noun 'walk', a neat parallel structure. It matches 7.5's grammar closely, though 7.5 removes the hedge 'I'd say' and lets the parallelism stand on its own, reading as slightly more assured.这句话围绕共享的名词'walk',平衡了两个相互对比的介词短语,是一个整齐的对称结构。它的语法和7.5分非常接近,不过7.5分去掉了缓冲语'I'd say',让这种对称结构独立成立,读起来略微更笃定一些。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCBut most of the days people actually remember happened under a decent sky. This closing sentence returns to the theme of memory raised earlier in the answer, giving the whole response a sense of coming full circle — a more deliberate structural choice than either lower band, which both end on a more functional statement about shelter.这句结尾句回归到答案前面提出的记忆主题,给整个回答带来一种首尾呼应的感觉——这是一个比两个较低分段都更有心的结构选择,后两者都以一句关于避雨场所的更功能性的陈述结尾。
    • LRtips the whole city outside at once'Tips... outside' is a precise, slightly unusual verb choice for describing a mass reaction to good weather, well beyond the plain 'brings everyone outside' used at 6.5 or 'brings the whole city out' at 7.0. It shows the kind of specific, less common vocabulary rewarded at 7.5.'Tips... outside' 是一个精确、略微不寻常的动词选择,用来描述人们对好天气的集体反应,远远超出了6.5分中使用的朴素说法'brings everyone outside',或7.0分的'brings the whole city out'。它展现出7.5分所奖励的那种具体、不常见的词汇。
    • GRArain wipes out beaches and picnics in one stroke; a cool, bright day after the rainy season tips the whole city outside at onceThis uses a semicolon to chain two independent clauses with parallel grammatical shape, avoiding the separate short sentences used at 6.5. That controlled use of semicolons across parallel clauses is a clear sign of the wider grammatical range expected at 7.5.这里用分号把两个具有对称语法形态的独立分句串联起来,避免了6.5分中使用的分开短句。这种对分号在对称分句间受控使用的能力,正是7.5分所要求的更宽广语法范围的明显标志。

The difference isn't really about rest. I once stayed home on a Sunday to relax, but felt more tired than after a day I rode thirty kilometres. A day out gives you new things: new places, new people, and a story to tell the next day. At home, everything stays the same and your phone is always near you, so the day can disappear in small distractions. Home is good too, for real rest and cooking. But a day out is something you remember, while weeks at home can all blend together.

    • FCThe difference isn't really about rest.A short, direct opening statement of the main idea, typical of 6.5's plain structure. 7.0 and 7.5 both open with the spoken hedge 'Honestly' before the same claim, giving their openings a more natural, conversational feel.一句简短、直接陈述主要观点的开篇,是6.5分那种朴素结构的典型表现。7.0和7.5都在同样的论断前加上了口语化的缓冲语'Honestly',让它们的开篇更有一种自然、对话式的感觉。

Both higher bands replace it with the more precise and slightly literary 'leak away', a noticeably more exact and evocative word choice for the same process.'Disappear' 对这个想法来说是一个还算合理的日常动词。两个更高分段都用更精确、略带文学色彩的'leak away'取代了它,对同一个过程使用了明显更精确、更有感染力的用词。
    • GRABut a day out is something you remember, while weeks at home can all blend together.A single sentence joined by 'while', clear and correct. 7.5 extends a similar closing idea with an additional semicolon clause and a final evaluative tag, showing a longer, more layered sentence structure.一个用'while'连接的单句,清晰正确。7.5用一个额外的分号分句和一个最终的评价性标签延伸了类似的收尾想法,展现出一个更长、更有层次的句子结构。

Honestly, the difference isn't really rest — I once stayed home on a Sunday to recover, and somehow ended up more tired than after a thirty-kilometre ride. A day out changes what comes into your life: new places, unplanned things, other people, and a story worth telling the next day. At home, the environment stays fixed and the phone is always within reach, so the day tends to leak away in small distractions. Home has its own value — real rest, cooking, family, a book finished. But I'd say a day out marks time, since weeks at home blur together while a day out becomes a date you remember.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCsomehow ended up more tired than after a thirty-kilometre rideThe word 'somehow' adds a note of genuine, spoken surprise that 6.5's flatter 'but I felt more tired' doesn't carry. It's very close to 7.5's phrasing, though 7.5 tightens the comparison further with a more compact construction.'Somehow' 这个词增添了一丝真实、口语化的惊讶感,而6.5分那种更平淡的'but I felt more tired'并不具备这一点。它非常接近7.5分的措辞,不过7.5用一个更紧凑的结构进一步收紧了这个对比。
    • LRunplanned thingsA simple, functional noun phrase. This exact phrase is actually shared with 7.5, showing that lexical range isn't only about swapping every word for a rarer one — at 7.5 it's the surrounding sentence structure, not just single words, that carries more sophistication.一个简单、功能性的名词短语。这个短语其实和7.5分是共用的,说明词汇范围不仅仅是把每个词都换成一个更少见的词——在7.5分中,承载更多老练感的是周围的句子结构,而不仅仅是单个的词。
    • GRAso the day tends to leak away in small distractionsThis uses 'tends to' plus a metaphorical verb in a single clause, more developed than a plain statement of fact. It closely matches 7.5's grammar, the main difference being 7.5's slightly tighter surrounding sentence.这里在一个分句里用了'tends to'加上一个比喻性的动词,比朴素的事实陈述更完整。它和7.5分的语法非常接近,主要区别在于7.5分周围的句子略微更紧凑。

Honestly, the difference isn't rest itself — I once stayed home on a Sunday purely to recover and somehow finished it more tired than a thirty-kilometre ride ever left me. A day out changes the input, so to speak: new places, unplanned things, other people, weather on your face, a story worth telling on Monday. At home the environment stays fixed and the phone is never more than arm's reach away, so the day quietly leaks away in small distractions. Home has its own value, admittedly — genuine rest, cooking, family, a book finally finished. But a day out marks time in a way home simply doesn't; weeks at home blur into one another, while a day out becomes a date you actually remember, which is arguably the whole point of a day.

    • FCwhich is arguably the whole point of a dayThis final tag adds a personal, evaluative judgement on top of the stated fact, giving the answer a clear sense of a considered opinion rather than just a description. Neither 6.5 nor 7.0 adds this kind of closing commentary.这个结尾的标签在陈述的事实之上又加上了一个个人化的、带评价性的判断,让答案清晰地体现出一种经过深思熟虑的观点,而不仅仅是一个描述。6.5或7.0都没有加上这种收尾式的评论。
    • LRnever more than arm's reach awayThis is a vivid, idiomatic way of describing constant phone proximity, more specific and natural than 6.5's plain 'always near you' or 7.0's 'always within reach'. It exemplifies the precise, slightly figurative language expected at 7.5.这是一种生动、地道的方式来描述手机时刻在身边的状态,比6.5分朴素的'always near you'或7.0分的'always within reach'更具体、更自然。它体现了7.5分所要求的那种精确、略带比喻性的语言。
    • GRAweeks at home blur into one another, while a day out becomes a date you actually remember, which is arguably the whole point of a dayThis sentence chains a main clause, a 'while' contrast clause, and a non-defining relative clause all in one unit, considerably more layered than the shorter sentences at 6.5 and 7.0. Managing three clauses without losing clarity is a clear marker of wide grammatical range.这句话把一个主句、一个'while'对比分句,还有一个非限定性定语从句全都串联在一个单元里,比6.5和7.0分那些更短的句子有层次得多。在不失去清晰度的前提下驾驭三个分句,正是宽广语法范围的明显标志。
  9. 9. Why do people want to have a day out?

Introduces the social point with a plain colon-led sentence and closes with a basic 'because' clause, keeping the reasoning simple throughout.用一个简单的、以冒号引出的句子来引出社会性的观点,并以一个基础的'because'分句收尾,全程保持推理的简单性。

Mostly to break their normal routine. My friend Linh messaged me after a month of deadlines, and her message wasn't about seeing monkeys — it was about wanting one day just for her. People want a day out to see something new, to be with others without a plan, and to feel that life is more than home and work. There's also a social reason: a day out helps friends and families stay close, because nobody feels close after just a normal commute. And a day out can make time feel longer, because everything feels different.

    • FCThere's also a social reason: a day out helps friends and families stay close, because nobody feels close after just a normal commute. The colon introduces the reason directly and plainly, which works but reads as a fairly mechanical list item. 7.5 achieves the same function with a tighter colon structure and a punchier final clause ('nobody bonds over a shared commute'), giving it more rhetorical snap.冒号直接、朴素地引出了理由,这样写是可行的,但读起来相当机械,像列表里的一项。7.5用一个更紧凑的冒号结构和一个更有力的结尾分句('nobody bonds over a shared commute')实现了同样的功能,给它增添了更多修辞上的爽脆感。
    • LRto break their normal routine'Break their normal routine' is a common, safe phrase. Both higher bands tighten this to 'break a pattern', a slightly more precise and idiomatic way of naming the same idea, showing more careful word choice.'Break their normal routine' 是一个常见、保险的短语。两个更高分段都把它收紧成了'break a pattern',这是一种略微更精确、更地道的方式来命名同样的想法,展现出更细心的用词选择。
    • GRAAnd a day out can make time feel longer, because everything feels different.A simple cause sentence with 'because'. 7.5 compresses a similar idea into a shorter, punchier fragment-like structure, showing more confident control over sentence length and rhythm.一个用'because'构成的简单原因句。7.5把类似的想法压缩进一个更短、更有力、近乎片段式的结构里,展现出对句子长度和节奏更自信的掌控力。
    7.0 分

Opens with the same hedge as 7.5 ('Honestly') but keeps 'because' logic slightly more explicit, showing an intermediate step between 6.5's plainness and 7.5's compression.以和7.5分相同的缓冲语('Honestly')开头,但保留了略微更明确的'because'逻辑,展现出6.5分的朴素和7.5分的凝练之间的一个中间步骤。

Honestly, mostly to break a pattern. Linh's message came after a month of deadlines, and her 'no excuses' wasn't about monkeys — it was about needing one day that belonged to her rather than to work. I'd say people want days out to see something new, to be with people without an agenda, to move their bodies, and to feel that life contains more than the route between home and work. There's a social side, since a day out is often how friendships and families get maintained — nobody bonds over a shared commute. And a simpler reason: a change of scene makes time feel longer.

    • FCHonestly, mostly to break a pattern. This short opening, led by the hedge 'Honestly', immediately signals a personal, considered answer rather than a textbook one. It is nearly identical to 7.5's opening, the main difference being 7.5 moves the hedge to the end of the sentence, a subtly more natural placement.这个简短的开篇,以缓冲语'Honestly'引导,立刻传达出一种个人化、经过深思熟虑的回答,而不是教科书式的回答。它和7.5分的开篇几乎一模一样,主要区别在于7.5把缓冲语移到了句尾,这是一种微妙但更自然的位置安排。
    • LRwithout an agendaA precise, slightly formal phrase reused effectively here; both 7.0 and 7.5 use it, showing that at this level the same well-chosen phrase can appear across bands. Compared to 6.5's plainer 'without a plan', it's a noticeably more exact register.一个精确、略带正式感的短语,在这里被有效地重复使用;7.0和7.5都用了它,说明在这个水平上,同一个精心选择的短语可以出现在不同的分段中。和6.5分那种更朴素的'without a plan'相比,这明显是一个更精确的语域。
    • GRAit was about needing one day that belonged to her rather than to workThis uses a relative clause plus a 'rather than' contrast within a single sentence, more developed than a short direct statement. It is very close to 7.5's version, which specifies 'the studio' instead of 'work', tying the sentence back to a more specific detail.这里在一个句子里使用了一个定语从句加上一个'rather than'对比,比一个简短直接的陈述更完整。它和7.5分的版本非常接近,后者用'the studio'来指代具体地点,而不是笼统的'work',把句子和一个更具体的细节联系了起来。
    7.5 分

Ends on a reflective, almost philosophical closing line ('a way of noticing you're alive') that lifts the register beyond the functional points made earlier.以一句反思性的、近乎哲理化的结尾('a way of noticing you're alive')收尾,把语域提升到了超出前面那些功能性论点的高度。

Mostly to break a pattern, if I'm honest. Linh's message arrived after a month of solid deadlines, and her 'six a.m., no excuses' wasn't really about monkeys at all — it was about needing one day that belonged to her rather than to the studio. People want days out to see something new, to be with others without an agenda, to actually move their bodies, and to feel that life amounts to more than the route between home and work. There's a social dimension too: a day out is how friendships and families get maintained, since nobody bonds over a shared commute. And there's a simpler one — a change of scene just makes time feel longer. In the end, a day out is really a way of noticing you're alive.

    • FCIn the end, a day out is really a way of noticing you're alive. This final sentence lifts the whole answer to a more abstract, reflective register, giving it a clear sense of closure and a memorable takeaway. Neither 6.5 nor 7.0 reaches for this kind of philosophical closing line.这句结尾句把整个答案提升到了一个更抽象、更具反思意味的语域,让它有了明确的收束感和一个令人印象深刻的总结。6.5和7.0都没有触及这种哲理化的结尾。
    • LRa way of noticing you're aliveThis is a genuinely evaluative, almost poetic phrase that goes beyond functional description into interpretation, well past the plain vocabulary of the lower bands. It's exactly the kind of natural, precise phrasing that marks 7.5 lexical resource.这是一个真正带评价性、近乎诗意的短语,它超越了功能性的描述,进入了解读的层面,远远超出了较低分段那种朴素的词汇。这正是标志着7.5分词汇资源的那种自然、精确的措辞。
    • GRAher 'six a.m., no excuses' wasn't really about monkeys at all — it was about needing one day that belonged to her rather than to the studioThis sentence embeds a quoted phrase as the subject of the clause, then follows with a dash and a second clause containing its own relative clause and contrast — a layered structure well beyond the simpler sentences at 6.5. Managing a quoted fragment grammatically within a larger sentence is a mark of flexible, high-level control.这句话把一个带引号的短语作为分句的主语嵌入进来,然后接上一个破折号和第二个分句,而这个分句里还包含着自己的定语从句和对比——这是一个远远超出6.5分那些更简单句子的、有层次的结构。在一个更大的句子里对一个带引号的片段进行语法上的驾驭,正是灵活、高水平掌控力的标志。
