6.5 分

The answer relies on simple, direct statements like 'so the distance is not the problem', giving a clear but plain account without more developed reasoning, typical of Band 6.5.这段回答依赖'so the distance is not the problem'这类简单直白的表达,给出的是清晰但比较单薄的叙述,缺乏更深入的说理,是Band 6.5的典型表现。

A short trip I often take but don't enjoy is going to the general hospital near Han Market for my yearly health check. My company asks all staff to do this once a year, usually in the spring. It's only about twenty minutes away by motorbike from my apartment, so the distance is not the problem.

I go there because my studio requires a basic health certificate for our records, so it's not really something I choose to do. I usually go early in the morning before work, around seven, because I heard the queue gets much longer later in the day.

Even so, the hospital is always crowded when I arrive. There are people sitting everywhere, and you have to move between different rooms for different tests, like blood tests and eye tests. The whole process usually takes almost three hours, and the waiting rooms don't have much space to sit.

I don't like this trip because it takes up a whole morning that I could use for work or resting. The atmosphere is also a bit stressful, with so many people and not much information about how long each step will take. It always makes me feel tired for the rest of the day.

  • GRAso the distance is not the problem'So the distance is not the problem' is a simple result clause attached to the preceding fact about travel time, using the most basic connector available to link cause and conclusion. It's accurate and clear, which is what Band 6.5 grammar is built on, though a higher-band answer would likely embed the same reasoning into a more complex sentence rather than tacking it on with 'so'.'So the distance is not the problem' 是一个简单的结果从句,附加在前面陈述的关于路程时间的事实之后,使用了最基础的连接词来连接原因和结论。这句话准确又清晰,这正是Band 6.5语法的根基,尽管分数更高的答案很可能会把同样的推理嵌入一个更复杂的句子里,而不是用'so'草草带过。
  • LRThe atmosphere is also a bit stressful'A bit stressful' is a common, hedged adjective that names the general feeling without describing what specifically makes the atmosphere stressful — the crowding, the unclear waiting times, the noise. Choosing a safe, general adjective over a more specific one is characteristic of Band 6.5 vocabulary, where clarity is prioritised over precision.'A bit stressful' 是一个常见的、带有模糊限制的形容词,只是说出了大致的感受,却没有具体说明究竟是什么让这个氛围变得紧张——是拥挤、不明确的等待时间,还是噪音。选择一个安全、笼统的形容词,而不是更具体的词,正是Band 6.5词汇的特征,在这个水平上,清晰度比精确度更重要。
  • FCI don't like this trip because it takes up a whole morning that I could use for work or resting. The reason given — losing a morning that could be used for work or resting — is stated directly and is easy to follow, but the sentence doesn't expand on why lost time specifically bothers the speaker beyond naming two alternative uses for it. This single, clearly stated cause without further elaboration is the plain but coherent development Band 6.5 fluency and coherence is calibrated to reward.给出的理由——失去了一个本可以用来工作或休息的上午——陈述得直接又容易理解,但这句话并没有进一步说明为什么失去的时间会具体地让说话人如此在意,除了列举出它的两种替代用途之外。这种单一、清楚陈述、没有进一步展开的原因,正是Band 6.5流利度与连贯性所校准衡量的那种朴实但连贯的发展方式。
7.0 分

The answer develops its complaint with a clear cause-effect link ('which eats into the short break I actually wanted to use for lunch') and closes on a reflective note about the trip feeling draining, showing the natural, moderately developed language of Band 7.0.这段回答用清晰的因果关系('which eats into the short break I actually wanted to use for lunch')展开抱怨,并以一句反思整趟行程令人身心俱疲的话收尾,展现出Band 7.0那种自然、有一定展开深度的语言。

A short trip I often make but don't really enjoy is going to the post office near Con Market to collect parcels for our design studio. Some weeks there are two or three boxes of printed samples or hardware waiting, so I end up going there quite regularly, usually on my lunch break.

The reason I have to go is that our studio doesn't have anyone assigned just for deliveries, so whoever is free ends up picking things up. It's only about ten minutes away by motorbike, so the distance itself isn't really the issue. I usually try to go around midday, before it gets too busy, but that doesn't always work out.

Even so, the post office is almost always crowded when I arrive. There's one narrow counter for parcels, and people are constantly pushing forward with their numbers, even when it's not their turn yet. I often have to wait twenty or thirty minutes just to hand over a slip and sign for a box, which eats into the short break I actually wanted to use for lunch.

The main thing I dislike about this trip is how unpredictable it feels. Some days it's quick, but other days I end up standing around with no idea how long it will take, and I go back to the office feeling rushed instead of refreshed. It also means I sometimes skip lunch completely, which makes a trip I already find draining feel even worse. I've thought about asking a courier service to collect parcels instead, but our studio manager prefers we handle it ourselves to avoid extra fees, so for now the trip is just something I have to put up with.

  • FCwhich eats into the short break I actually wanted to use for lunchThe relative clause 'which eats into...' links the long parcel-office wait directly to its personal cost — lost lunch time — rather than leaving the wait time as an isolated complaint. This kind of cause-to-consequence linking within a single sentence is the fluent development Band 7.0 rewards, going further than a 6.5 answer that might simply state 'I had to wait a long time' without connecting it to a specific personal impact. It reinforces the overall complaint about the trip being disruptive, which the following paragraph goes on to develop further.定语从句'which eats into...'把在邮局排长队等待直接与它带来的个人代价——午休时间被占用——联系起来,而不是让等待时间作为一个孤立的抱怨存在。这种在一句话里把因果连接起来的方式,是7.0分所奖励的那种流畅展开,比6.5分答案可能只说的'I had to wait a long time'而不将其与具体的个人影响联系起来更进了一步。它强化了整体关于这趟行程被打乱的抱怨,而这一点在下一段中得到了进一步展开。
  • LReats into'Eats into' is a natural collocation for describing something gradually reducing available time, chosen over a plainer verb like 'reduces' or 'takes up'. This kind of vivid-but-common phrase, one step more specific than the flattest possible wording, is exactly the flexible everyday vocabulary Band 7.0 targets. It captures precisely how the waiting time at the post office erodes the lunch break mentioned in the same sentence, rather than just stating that time was lost.'Eats into'是一个自然的固定搭配,用来描述某件事逐渐蚕食掉可用的时间,选用它而不是'reduces'或'takes up'这类更平实的动词。这种生动但常见的搭配,比最平实的措辞精确了一档,正是7.0分所瞄准的那种灵活日常词汇。它精准地捕捉到了邮局等待时间如何侵蚀了同一句话中提到的午休时间,而不只是笼统地说时间被浪费了。
  • GRASome days it's quick, but other days I end up standing around with no idea how long it will takeThe sentence combines a contrast ('but') with an embedded clause describing uncertainty ('with no idea how long it will take'), building a single well-controlled complex sentence out of two different structural elements. This kind of combined contrast-plus-embedded-clause construction is typical of the comfortable grammar range Band 7.0 targets, beyond the simpler coordination a 6.5 answer would use for the same unpredictability. It captures the core complaint of the whole story — the trip's unpredictability — in one efficient sentence.这句话把一个转折('but')和一个描述不确定性的嵌入从句('with no idea how long it will take')结合起来,用两种不同的结构成分构建出一个把控得当的复杂句。这种转折加嵌入从句的组合结构,是7.0分所瞄准的从容语法范围的典型表现,超越了6.5分答案对同样的不可预测性会用的更简单的并列结构。它在一句高效的话里,捕捉到了整个故事的核心抱怨——这趟行程的不可预测性。
7.5 分

The vivid sensory description 'the whole place smells a bit like old paper and instant noodles from the nearby snack stall' and the reflective closing 'it always leaves me wishing I was anywhere else' show the descriptive precision and evaluative stance typical of Band 7.5.生动的感官描写'the whole place smells a bit like old paper and instant noodles from the nearby snack stall',以及反思性的结尾'it always leaves me wishing I was anywhere else',展现出Band 7.5典型的描写精准度和评价性立场。

Honestly, a short trip I often take but don't really enjoy is going to the government office on Ly Tu Trong street in Da Nang to handle paperwork-usually related to things like renewing my motorbike registration or updating my residence documents. I tend to make this trip about once or twice a year, usually on a weekday morning when my workload at the studio is a bit lighter. I go by motorbike since it's only about fifteen minutes from my apartment near the Han River, but I always end up dreading it.

The main reason I have to go is just that a lot of official procedures here still require you to show up in person, bring these big piles of photocopied documents, queue up, and get things stamped. Even though some stuff is moving online, a lot of the important paperwork-especially for vehicles or address changes-still means lining up at the office. They open pretty early, so I usually aim to get there before eight, but there's always a crowd, and the atmosphere is just stuffy and tense. People are shuffling between windows, the waiting chairs are uncomfortable, and the whole place smells a bit like old paper and instant noodles from the nearby snack stall.

To be fair, the staff are usually polite, but the whole process feels slow and, honestly, a bit draining. The worst part for me is the feeling of wasted time-I could be sketching UI ideas for a client or grabbing a morning coffee by the river, but instead I'm just sitting in a crowded room, waiting for my number to be called. So, even though it's a quick trip in terms of distance, it always leaves me wishing I was anywhere else.

  • LRthe whole place smells a bit like old paper and instant noodles from the nearby snack stallThe sensory detail combines two specific, contrasting smells — old paper and instant noodles — into one precise, slightly unglamorous image, going well beyond functional description like 'it smells bad' or 'unpleasant'. This kind of concrete, multi-sensory descriptive language, chosen for vividness rather than mere accuracy, is characteristic of Band 7.5 lexical range. It makes the waiting-room atmosphere immediately real for the listener, reinforcing the 'stuffy and tense' mood described just before it.这个感官细节把两种具体、形成对比的气味——旧纸张和方便面——融合成一幅精确、略带不体面感的画面,远远超越了'闻起来不好闻'或'不愉快'这类功能性描述。这种具体、多感官的描写语言,是为了生动性而非仅仅为了准确性而选用的,是Band 7.5词汇范围的特征。它让等候室的氛围对听者而言立刻变得真实可感,进一步强化了前文所描述的'闷热而紧张'的气氛。
  • GRAEven though some stuff is moving online, a lot of the important paperwork-especially for vehicles or address changes-still means lining up at the office.A concessive clause ('Even though some stuff is moving online') opens the sentence, and a parenthetical aside ('especially for vehicles or address changes') is inserted into the middle of the main clause, producing a genuinely varied, multi-part sentence handled without error. This kind of layered complexity — concession plus an inserted qualifier — sustained accurately is what distinguishes Band 7.5 grammar from the somewhat simpler complex sentences typical of 7.0. It also captures a nuanced, realistic picture (partial digitisation, not total) rather than a flat generalisation.
  • FCit always leaves me wishing I was anywhere elseThe answer ends on a reflective, slightly wry personal feeling rather than a plain factual close like 'I don't enjoy this trip', framing the whole experience through its emotional aftertaste. This kind of genuinely evaluative, image-driven closing line is what Band 7.5 rewards over the flatter concluding statements typical of Band 7.0. It also neatly answers the original question — why this short trip specifically isn't liked — by tying the feeling back to everything described in the paragraph before it, from the crowd to the wasted time.

Motorbikes are still the most common way here, honestly — you see them everywhere at rush hour, moving between the cars along the river roads. I travel the same way myself, crossing Dragon Bridge every morning, because it's faster and cheaper than owning a car in a city this size. Buses exist, but the network isn't big enough to be most people's first choice yet. A smaller number of people, mostly older or richer, drive cars, although parking downtown can be difficult. 为什么是这个分数

    • FCBut overall, the motorbike is still the default for most working adults. This closing sentence, starting with 'But', gives a plain sequential summary rather than a more integrated final synthesis.这句以'But'开头的结尾句给出了一个平实的顺序性总结,而不是更融合的最终综合陈述。
    • LRthe network isn't big enough to be most people's first choice yetThis is plain, functional phrasing, less precise than the higher bands' 'extensive enough'/'nowhere near extensive enough' for the same idea.这是平实、功能性的表达,不如更高分段中用来表达同一想法的'extensive enough'/'nowhere near extensive enough'精准。
    • GRAA smaller number of people, mostly older or richer, drive cars, although parking downtown can be difficult. This simple sentence uses one basic 'although' clause, the most straightforward way of adding a contrast.这个简单的句子只用了一个基本的'although'从句,是加入对比最直接的方式。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCOverall, though, the motorbike remains the default option for most working adults. This closing sentence, with the mid-sentence 'though' inserted, frames the summary slightly more naturally than the plain 'But overall' sentence used at 6.5.这句结尾在句中插入了'though',比6.5分中平实的'But overall'句子更自然地为总结定下框架。
    • LRmostly older or wealthier residents, drive cars, though parking downtown can be a real hassleThis is a natural, moderately vivid collocation ('a real hassle'), more fluent than the plainer 'can be difficult' phrasing used at 6.5.这是一个自然、比较生动的搭配('a real hassle'),比6.5分中较平淡的'can be difficult'说法更流畅。

    为什么是这个分数

The biggest problem is traffic — when everyone leaves for work at about the same time, the main roads cannot handle the number of vehicles. Dragon Bridge, for example, gets very busy around eight in the morning, and a normal ten-minute crossing can take twenty-five minutes. This causes stress and makes people late, which affects their work once they arrive. Air pollution is another problem, because so many engines running together, especially motorbikes, add up quickly in a small area. There is also a higher chance of accidents when drivers get impatient and start moving dangerously between gaps. I think different working hours would probably help a lot.

    • FCI think different working hours would probably help a lot. This short, separate closing sentence gives a plain conclusion without integrating it into the argument that precedes it.这句结尾用'also'平实地加入了一个最后的观点,没有把它和前面的想法连接起来。7.0分的回答更可能会把这个后果直接和之前提到的关系损害联系起来。
    • LRThis causes stress and makes people lateThis is plain, functional phrasing joining two simple effects with 'and'.'Damages relationships'是平实、直白的词汇,而不是对同一种缓慢侵蚀过程更具体或更生动的短语。

The most obvious problem is traffic congestion — when everyone leaves for work within roughly the same hour, main roads just can't handle the volume. Dragon Bridge, for example, gets seriously backed up around eight in the morning, and what's normally a ten-minute crossing can take twenty-five. This causes stress and makes people late, which then affects productivity once they actually arrive. Air pollution is another issue, since so many engines running at once, especially motorbikes, add up quickly in a concentrated area. There's also a higher risk of accidents when drivers get impatient and start weaving dangerously through gaps in traffic. Honestly, staggered working hours would probably ease a lot of this.

The 7.5 answer opens with the vivid imperative-style construction 'cram everyone onto the roads within the same hour and...they simply can't absorb the volume', and closes with the wry aside 'though nobody seems eager to try it', showing its most idiomatic phrasing.7.5分的回答用更精准的动词'erodes'取代了'damages',并以生动的'good ideas simply vanish'收尾,让回答的中段和结尾都呈现出更犀利、更具意象性的语域。

The most obvious problem is traffic congestion — cram everyone onto the roads within the same hour and, unsurprisingly, they simply can't absorb the volume. Dragon Bridge, for instance, gets seriously backed up around eight in the morning, turning what's normally a ten-minute crossing into something closer to twenty-five. That causes stress and makes people late, which ripples into lost productivity once they finally arrive. Air pollution compounds the problem, since so many engines running at once, motorbikes especially, add up fast in a concentrated area. There's also a heightened risk of accidents when drivers grow impatient and start weaving dangerously through whatever gaps appear. Staggered working hours would probably ease a good chunk of this, honestly, though nobody seems eager to try it.

    • FCthough nobody seems eager to try itThis wry concessive aside, added after the closing recommendation, is a more evaluative final move than the plain closing sentence used at 6.5 and 7.0.'Erodes'是一个真正更精准、更具意象性的动词,比7.0分对应句子中用的更平淡的'damages'更能表达一种缓慢、渐进的过程,而不是一次性的打击。
    • LRturning what's normally a ten-minute crossing into something closer to twenty-fiveThe participial phrase 'turning...into' is a vivid, more compressed way of expressing the consequence than the plain 'can take twenty-five' phrasing used at 6.5/7.0.'Vanish'是一个生动、近乎带有魔幻色彩的动词选择,取代了6.5分或7.0分回答中用来表达同一种消失的更平淡的'get lost'。
    • GRAcram everyone onto the roads within the same hour and, unsurprisingly, they simply can't absorb the volumeThis imperative-style conditional opening ('cram everyone...and...') is a more dramatic, compressed framing device than the plain 'when everyone leaves...main roads just can't handle' sentence used at 7.0.第二个小句在'and'之后去掉了主语代词(用'and grow less willing'代替'and it makes them less willing'),比7.0分回答中用来表达同一想法的更完整表述是更紧凑的结构。

Those unplanned moments, like getting slightly lost or being helped by someone unexpectedly, often teach you more about a culture than any article could. There's also an emotional element; standing somewhere in person creates a memory that reading simply doesn't. 为什么是这个分数

    • FCThere's also an emotional element; standing somewhere in person creates a memory that reading simply doesn't.The semicolon-linked structure here fuses two closely related ideas into a single sentence, more complex than the simple 'because' clause used for a similar idea at 6.5.这里用分号连接的结构把两个密切相关的想法融合成了一个句子,比6.5分中类似想法所用的简单'because'从句更复杂。
    • LRit can't replicate the small sensory detailsThis uses the more precise verb 'replicate', a step up from the plainer 'show you' phrasing used at 6.5.这里用了更精准的动词'replicate',比6.5分中较平淡的'show you'说法更进一步。
    • GRAThose unplanned moments, like getting slightly lost or being helped by someone unexpectedly, often teach you more about a culture than any article could. This sentence embeds a non-restrictive appositive list ('like getting...or being helped...') between the subject and its verb, a more complex structure than the simple sentences used at 6.5.这句话在主语和动词之间嵌入了一个非限制性的同位语列表('like getting...or being helped...'),比6.5分中用的简单句更复杂。
    7.5 分

The 7.5 answer uses the vivid phrase 'plants a memory' and the precise noun 'cadence' for a dialect's rhythm, closing with the compact idiom 'complementary rather than one substituting for the other', showing its most idiomatic, precise phrasing.7.5分的回答用了生动的短语'plants a memory',以及精准的名词'cadence'来描述方言的节奏,并以简练的习语'complementary rather than one substituting for the other'收尾,展现出这一分段中最地道、最精准的表达方式。

A completely different kind of understanding, honestly. Reading hands you facts and maybe a general impression, but it can't replicate the small sensory details — how a street actually smells at dawn, the cadence of a local dialect, or how strangers react when you stop them for directions. Those unplanned moments, getting mildly lost or being rescued by a stranger's kindness, often teach you more about a culture than any article ever could. There's an emotional register to it too; standing somewhere in person plants a memory that reading simply can't. That said, reading beforehand genuinely sharpens your appreciation of what you're seeing, so I'd say the two are complementary rather than one substituting for the other.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCso I'd say the two are complementary rather than one substituting for the otherThis closing sentence uses the precise adjective 'complementary', a more formal, compact synthesis than the plainer 'work best together' phrasing used at 6.5 and 7.0.这句结尾用了精准的形容词'complementary',比6.5分和7.0分中较平淡的'work best together'说法是更正式、更简练的综合表达。

    • GRAstanding somewhere in person plants a memory that reading simply can'tThe vivid, figurative verb 'plants' replaces the plainer 'creates' used at 7.0, a more compressed and evocative choice within the same sentence structure.生动、具比喻色彩的动词'plants'取代了7.0分中较平淡的'creates',在同样的句子结构里是一个更压缩、更有画面感的选择。

To some degree, yes, especially with short flights that could be replaced by trains or buses. Aviation produces a large share of emissions, so cutting unnecessary short flights would help without stopping travel completely. That said, I don't think people will stop travelling altogether, because the personal and economic benefits are too important, especially for cities that depend on tourism. To some degree, yes, especially when it comes to short-haul flights that could realistically be replaced by trains or buses. Aviation produces a significant share of emissions, so cutting unnecessary short flights would help without eliminating travel altogether. That said, I don't think people will stop travelling completely, because the personal and economic benefits are too significant, especially for tourism-dependent cities. What's more likely is that travel becomes more selective — fewer, longer trips instead of frequent short ones, and more people choosing greener transport where it's practical. Space tourism could actually cause a lot of damage, more than people might expect given how small the industry still is. Rocket launches release particles high in the atmosphere that last far longer than plane emissions and may affect the ozone layer. Making the rockets and the fuel also has a big environmental cost before a flight even happens. Right now, it is a small industry for very few rich travellers, so the overall effect seems limited, but if it grows the way commercial flying did, the effect on the atmosphere could become serious. I think it needs strict environmental rules before it grows much more.

The higher bands upgrade this to 'fast and flexible', and 7.5 adds 'in a way nothing else quite matches', a more precise and vivid comparison.这是描述摩托车吸引力时使用的平实、常见词汇。更高分段将其升级为'fast and flexible',7.5分还加上了'in a way nothing else quite matches',用更精准生动的比较来表达。
    • GRALast month, I had to take a city bus to a government office outside town. It was crowded and a little slow, but still useful. This is told across two short, separate sentences. The 7.5 version instead joins the same content into one longer sentence using a semicolon and 'for instance', showing tighter integration of narrative detail into the argument.这里用两个简短独立的句子来叙述。而7.5分的版本则用分号和'for instance'把同样的内容合并成一个更长的句子,显示出叙述细节与论证之间更紧密的整合。

Adds the hedge 'I'd say' and the intensifier 'definitely' to the opening claim, and links the bus story into one sentence with 'and... though'.在开头的论断中加入了缓和语'I'd say'和强调词'definitely',并用'and... though'把公交车的故事连成一句话。

I'd say the two most popular forms of transport here are definitely motorbikes and buses. You see motorbikes everywhere in cities like Da Nang, even at 7am there's a steady stream along the Han River. Honestly, almost everyone I know owns one, including myself, simply because it's fast and flexible. Buses are also fairly common, especially for students or older people who want to save money. For example, last month I had to take the city bus out to a government office on the edge of town, and it was crowded and a bit slow, though still a practical option. Cars are becoming more popular too, but they're not as common because of traffic and parking.

    • FCI'd say the two most popular forms of transport here are definitely motorbikes and buses. The hedge 'I'd say' softens what is otherwise a confident, intensified claim, a more natural spoken combination than the flat statement at 6.5. It's a smaller move than the 7.5 opening, which drops 'I think' from the earlier draft in favour of 'without question'.缓和语'I'd say'软化了原本自信而强化的论断,这种搭配比6.5分那种平铺直叙更接近自然口语。不过比起7.5分的开头,这一改动幅度较小——7.5分干脆去掉了先前草稿中的'I think',改用'without question'。
    • LRfast and flexibleThis is a more precise collocation than the plain 'fast and easy to use' at 6.5. The 7.5 band keeps the same phrase but extends it with 'in a way nothing else quite matches', adding a further comparative layer.这个搭配比6.5分平淡的'fast and easy to use'更精准。7.5分保留了同样的短语,但加上'in a way nothing else quite matches'加以延伸,增添了一层比较意味。
    • GRAlast month I had to take the city bus out to a government office on the edge of town, and it was crowded and a bit slow, though still a practical optionThis sentence joins the narrative and the evaluation with 'and... though', more integrated than the two separate sentences at 6.5. It's close to the 7.5 structure, which uses a semicolon and 'for instance' for an even more compact join.这句话用'and... though'把叙述和评价连接起来,比6.5分那两句独立的句子更加融合。这也接近7.5分的结构,后者用分号和'for instance'实现了更紧凑的衔接。

I'd say the two most popular forms of transport here are, without question, motorbikes and buses. You see motorbikes absolutely everywhere in cities like Da Nang — even at 7am there's a steady stream of them along the Han River. Honestly, almost everyone I know owns one, myself included, simply because it's fast and flexible in a way nothing else quite matches. Buses are also fairly common, particularly among students and older people looking to save money; last month, for instance, I had to take the city bus out to a government office on the edge of town, and while it was crowded and a bit slow, it still got the job done. Cars are gaining ground too, but they remain far less common, largely thanks to traffic and the endless headache of parking.

    • FCare, without question, motorbikes and busesInserting 'without question' mid-sentence, set off by commas, is a more fluent and confident arrangement than placing the intensifier as a separate word like 'definitely' at 7.0. It reads as a natural aside rather than a bolted-on adverb.把'without question'用逗号隔开插入句中,比7.5分中像'definitely'这样单独放置的强调词更流畅、更自信。读起来像是自然的插话,而不是硬生生加上去的副词。
    • LRthe endless headache of parkingThis is a vivid, idiomatic phrase that replaces the plain 'because of traffic and parking' used at 6.5 and 7.0. The personification of parking as a 'headache' shows a wider, more natural range of figurative vocabulary.这是一个生动、地道的短语,取代了6.5分和7.0分中平淡的'because of traffic and parking'。把停车问题拟人化为'headache'(头疼事),展现出更丰富、更自然的比喻性词汇。
    • GRAparticularly among students and older people looking to save money; last month, for instance, I had to take the city bus out to a government office on the edge of town, and while it was crowded and a bit slow, it still got the job doneThis sentence uses a semicolon to attach the personal example directly onto the general claim, more compact than the separate sentences at 6.5 or the 'and... though' join at 7.0. The layered structure carries more information in a single breath.这句话用分号把个人举例直接接在总体论断之后,比6.5分中分开的句子,或7.0分用'and... though'连接的方式都更紧凑。这种层层递进的结构能在一口气中承载更多信息。

I think most people here use motorbikes to commute to work, mainly because they are cheap and can move through traffic faster than cars or buses. Every morning when I go to my office near the Han River, I see long lines of bikes at every crossing, especially around 7:30am. Sometimes I see my neighbour Mrs Ha putting groceries into her bike basket before going to work at the hospital. Cars are becoming more common, especially for families, but they get stuck in traffic on busy roads. Buses are available, but I rarely see young workers using them, maybe because they are less convenient.

It is shared word for word with the 7.5 version, showing the two top bands converge on this upgrade.'Weave through'比6.5分中平淡的'move through'更生动精准。这个用词与7.5分版本一字不差,说明两个高分段在这一升级上趋于一致。
    • LRsqueezing groceries into her bike basket'Squeezing' is a more vivid verb than the plain 'putting' used at 6.5, suggesting a slightly cramped, everyday effort. It matches the 7.5 phrasing exactly, showing shared vocabulary between the two higher bands.'Squeezing'比6.5分中平淡的'putting'更生动,暗示了一种略显局促的日常努力。这个说法与7.5分完全一致,说明两个较高分段共用了这一词汇。
    • GRATo be fair, cars are becoming more common, especially for families, but they just get stuck in traffic jams on busy roads like Nguyen Van Linh. The hedge 'To be fair' introduces the concession more smoothly than the plain 'but' at 6.5. 为什么是这个分数

    • FCin a way cars and buses simply can'tThis comparative clause sharpens the claim about motorbikes further than the plain 'much faster than cars or buses' at 7.0. It reframes the comparison as an absolute rather than a matter of degree, a more confident rhetorical move.这个比较从句把关于摩托车的论断磨得比7.0分平淡的'much faster than cars or buses'更加尖锐。它把比较从程度问题重新定义为一种绝对陈述,是更自信的修辞手法。

It shows a wider range of abstract, judgement-based vocabulary.这个简练的评价性短语加入了两个较低分段都没有尝试的判断,把一句关于堵车的平淡观察变成了一段关于取舍的小论证。这体现出更丰富的抽象、判断性词汇。
    • GRAbut they just end up stuck in traffic on busy roads like Nguyen Van Linh, gaining nothing for the extra comfortThis sentence folds an extra evaluative clause ('gaining nothing...') onto the main concession, more layered than the equivalent sentence at 6.5 and 7.0, which stop after naming the traffic problem. Uses the metaphor 'a whole domino effect' and the colon-introduced list 'in real time: the constant horns...' to build the rush-hour image.用了比喻'a whole domino effect',以及用冒号引出的列表'in real time: the constant horns...'来构建高峰期的画面。

I'd say the biggest problem is unquestionably congestion, which sets off a whole domino effect of smaller issues. Last Thursday morning, for instance, I had to reach a client meeting near Le Duan street, which meant leaving home at exactly 7:30 — basically the peak of Da Nang's rush hour — and honestly, the streets near the Han River bridge felt almost gridlocked. My usual ten-minute motorbike trip stretched to nearly half an hour, and you could feel everyone's stress rising in real time: the constant horns, people weaving recklessly between lanes, even a minor accident near the roundabout. Beyond the sheer frustration, these delays chip away at people's punctuality and productivity alike. To be fair, though, it isn't always this bad — outside peak hours, the very same route feels almost peaceful.

    • FCsets off a whole domino effect of smaller issuesThis metaphor is more precise and vivid than the plainer 'leads to a whole chain of other issues' used at 7.0. The image of dominoes specifically captures cascading cause-and-effect in a way the more generic 'chain' does not.这个比喻比7.0分中较平淡的'leads to a whole chain of other issues'更精准、更生动。多米诺骨牌的意象特别捕捉到了连锁因果关系,这是更泛泛的'chain'所做不到的。
    • LRchip away at people's punctuality and productivity alike'Chip away at' is a more figurative, idiomatic phrase than the plain 'make people late and reduce productivity' used at 6.5 and 'make people late and reduce productivity' at 7.0. It suggests a slow, cumulative erosion rather than a simple one-off effect.'Chip away at'是一个比6.5分和7.0分中都用的平淡说法'make people late and reduce productivity'更具比喻性、更地道的短语。它暗示了一种缓慢、累积的侵蚀过程,而不是一次性的简单影响。
    • GRAyou could feel everyone's stress rising in real time: the constant horns, people weaving recklessly between lanes, even a minor accident near the roundaboutThe colon here introduces a tightly packed list within one sentence, more compact than the dash-introduced list at 6.5 and 7.0. The added phrase 'in real time' and adverb 'recklessly' show finer control of descriptive detail within the same structure.这里的冒号在一句话中引出了一个紧凑的列表,比6.5分和7.0分中用破折号引出的列表更简练。新增的短语'in real time'和副词'recklessly'展现出在同一结构下对描述细节更精细的把控。

Lists the problems in short, separate sentences joined with 'and' and 'but'.用'and'和'but'连接的简短独立句子来列举问题。

I think too many cars during rush hour cause a lot of problems, for the city and for people. The most obvious one is gridlock — traffic barely moves, and sometimes you wait at the same light for several cycles. Last Tuesday, I had to cross Nguyen Van Linh street at 8am on my motorbike, which usually takes ten minutes, but because of all the cars and honking, it took almost forty minutes. Besides wasting time, the air felt heavy with exhaust, and I worried about breathing it in. Cars are convenient, but when everyone uses them together, it affects traffic and people's health.

    • FCI think too many cars during rush hour cause a lot of problems, for the city and for people. This opening states the claim in plain, general terms. The higher bands sharpen 'a lot of problems' to 'a whole set of problems' (7.0) and 'a whole cluster of problems' (7.5), each a more precise collective noun.这个开头用平实、笼统的措辞陈述了论断。更高分段把'a lot of problems'磨得更精准,变成'a whole set of problems'(7.0分)和'a whole cluster of problems'(7.5分),每个都是更精确的集合名词。
    • LRI worried about breathing it inThis is plain, direct phrasing for the health concern. The higher bands upgrade this to 'I was a bit worried about breathing in so many fumes' (7.0) and 'worrying, not for the first time, about what all those fumes were doing to my lungs' (7.5), each adding more specific, embodied detail.这是描述健康担忧时用的平实、直白表达。更高分段升级为'I was a bit worried about breathing in so many fumes'(7.0分)和'worrying, not for the first time, about what all those fumes were doing to my lungs'(7.5分),每一处都加入了更具体、更有身体感的细节。
    • GRACars are convenient, but when everyone uses them together, it affects traffic and people's health. This closing sentence joins two ideas with 'but... when', accurate but plain. The 7.5 version instead uses 'undeniably' and 'quietly erodes', building a more layered, evaluative final sentence.这句结尾用'but... when'连接了两个想法,准确但平实。7.5分版本则用了'undeniably'和'quietly erodes',构建出一个更有层次、更具评价性的结尾句。

I think having too many cars on the road during rush hour creates a whole set of problems, both for the city and for individuals. The most obvious one is probably gridlock — traffic just crawls along, and sometimes you're stuck at the same intersection for several light cycles. For example, last Tuesday I had to take my motorbike across Nguyen Van Linh street at 8am, usually a ten-minute ride, but because of the sea of cars and honking, it took me almost forty minutes. Besides wasting time, the air felt heavy with exhaust, and honestly, I was a bit worried about breathing in so many fumes. 为什么是这个分数

    • FCa whole set of problems, both for the city and for individualsThis phrase is more precise than the plain 'a lot of problems, for the city and for people' at 6.5, using 'both... and' to mark the two categories explicitly. It's a step toward the 7.5 phrasing 'a whole cluster of problems, for the city as a whole and for individuals stuck inside it'.这个短语比6.5分中平淡的'a lot of problems, for the city and for people'更精准,用'both... and'明确标出了两个类别。这也是朝着7.5分说法'a whole cluster of problems, for the city as a whole and for individuals stuck inside it'迈出的一步。
    • LRthe sea of cars and honking'Sea of cars' is a vivid metaphor that the 6.5 band's plain 'all the cars' doesn't attempt. It is shared exactly with the 7.5 version, showing the two higher bands converge on this same figurative choice.'Sea of cars'是一个生动的比喻,是6.5分平淡的'all the cars'没有尝试的。这个说法与7.5分版本完全一致,说明两个较高分段在这一比喻用词上趋于一致。
    • GRAThe most obvious one is probably gridlock — traffic just crawls along, and sometimes you're stuck at the same intersection for several light cyclesThis sentence uses a dash to attach an explanation directly onto the main clause, more integrated than the separate sentence used at 6.5. It's close to the 7.5 structure, which extends the same idea with 'without moving an inch', a further vivid clause.这句话用破折号把解释直接接在主句之后,比6.5分中分开的句子更融合。这也接近7.5分的结构,后者用'without moving an inch'延伸了同样的想法,加入了一个更生动的从句。

I'd say too many cars during rush hour create a whole cluster of problems, for the city as a whole and for individuals stuck inside it. The most obvious one is gridlock — traffic simply crawls, and you can end up stuck at the same intersection through several light cycles without moving an inch. Last Tuesday, for instance, I had to cross Nguyen Van Linh street on my motorbike at 8am, usually a ten-minute ride, but thanks to a sea of cars and constant honking, it dragged out to almost forty minutes. Beyond the wasted time, the air felt genuinely heavy with exhaust, and I found myself worrying, not for the first time, about what all those fumes were doing to my lungs. Cars are undeniably convenient, but once everyone uses them simultaneously, it quietly erodes both the flow of traffic and people's health.

    • FCa whole cluster of problems, for the city as a whole and for individuals stuck inside itThis is the most precisely calibrated version of the opening claim, adding 'as a whole' and 'stuck inside it' for extra specificity beyond the 7.0 phrase 'both for the city and for individuals'. The added detail shows finer control of scope within one sentence.这是开头论断中措辞最精准的版本,加入了'as a whole'和'stuck inside it',比7.0分的'both for the city and for individuals'多了一层具体性。这些附加细节展现出在同一句话中对范围更精细的把控。
    • LRnot for the first time, about what all those fumes were doing to my lungsThis phrase adds a personal, recurring worry and a specific bodily consequence ('my lungs') that neither lower band attempts. It moves beyond simply stating the worry to giving it a history and a concrete target.这个短语加入了一种个人化、反复出现的担忧,以及一个具体的身体后果('my lungs'),这是两个较低分段都没有尝试的。它不只是简单地陈述担忧,还赋予了这种担忧一段历史和一个具体的对象。
    • GRACars are undeniably convenient, but once everyone uses them simultaneously, it quietly erodes both the flow of traffic and people's health. This closing sentence uses the figurative verb 'erodes' instead of the plainer 'affects' used at 6.5 and 7.0, and balances 'both... and' across the sentence's final clause. The combination of precise verb and balanced structure marks the higher grammatical range.这句结尾用了比喻性动词'erodes',而不是6.5分和7.0分中用的平淡词'affects',并用'both... and'在句末从句中形成对称结构。精准动词与对称结构的结合,标志着更高的语法运用范围。

I think one of the best ways to reduce traffic congestion is to improve public transport, making it reliable and comfortable so people actually want to use it. A few months ago, I took a Grab car to the airport during morning rush hour in Da Nang, and the number of private cars and motorbikes on the road was overwhelming. It's a small but genuine marker of spoken fluency that neither the 6.5 nor the more polished 7.5 opening uses in quite the same way.开头的填充词'Well'比6.5分更平淡的开头多了一种自然的口语节奏。这是口语流利度的一个小而真实的标志,7.5分那个更精致的开头也没有用完全相同的方式使用它。

A few months back, for instance, I had to take a Grab car to the airport during Da Nang's morning rush hour, and honestly, the sheer volume of private cars and motorbikes clogging the road was overwhelming. Had there been a convenient airport shuttle or a metro line, I'd have jumped at it and skipped the stress entirely. It conveys genuine enthusiasm rather than neutral reporting.'Positively buzzing'是一个两个较低分段都没有使用的生动、地道的强调语;6.5分和7.0分都只满足于较平淡的'came back talking about'。它传达出的是真切的热情,而不只是中立的转述。
    • GRAnot everyone travels abroad chasing inspiration — plenty just want to relax or see family — but honestly, most people I know come home carrying new ideas or memories that quietly stick with them for yearsThis sentence embeds a dash-marked aside inside a longer 'not... but' structure, more layered than the semicolon-based or single-dash versions at 6.5 and 7.0. The nested structure allows three separate ideas to sit inside one continuous sentence.这句话把一个用破折号标出的旁白嵌入到一个更长的'not... but'结构中,比6.5分和7.0分中基于分号或单一破折号的版本更有层次。这种嵌套结构让三个独立的想法能容纳在同一个连续的句子里。

States the main benefit plainly and lists the workshop details in short, direct sentences.平实地陈述主要好处,并用简短、直接的句子列出工作坊的细节。

I think one big benefit of travelling abroad is seeing how people live and think outside your own familiar world. Two years ago, I joined a week-long design workshop in Kuala Lumpur with designers from Southeast Asia. It opened my eyes — I saw how a Malaysian team approached mobile app design differently from how we usually do it in my studio. Besides the work side, the food and the way people greeted each other made me think about my own habits back in Da Nang. Travelling can be tiring and expensive, but honestly, the exposure to new ideas is hard to get any other way.

    • FCseeing how people live and think outside your own familiar worldThis is plain, general phrasing for the benefit of travel. The higher bands sharpen this to 'seeing, up close, how people live and think outside your own familiar circle' (7.5), adding 'up close' for a more vivid sense of proximity.这是描述旅行好处时用的平实、笼统表达。更高分段把它磨得更尖锐,变成'seeing, up close, how people live and think outside your own familiar circle'(7.5分),加入了'up close'来传达更生动的临近感。
    • LRIt opened my eyesThis is a common, slightly informal idiom. The higher bands intensify it to 'it really opened my eyes' (7.0) and 'it genuinely opened my eyes' (7.5), each adding an adverb for stronger emphasis.这是一个常见、略带口语色彩的习语。更高分段强化为'it really opened my eyes'(7.0分)和'it genuinely opened my eyes'(7.5分),各自加入了一个副词来加强语气。
    • GRABesides the work side, the food and the way people greeted each other made me think about my own habits back in Da Nang. This sentence lists two examples joined with 'and' in a fairly plain, additive way. The 7.5 version instead lists three examples inside a single 'from... to... to...' structure, a more ambitious way of packing detail into one sentence.这句话用'and'相当平实、附加地列举了两个例子。7.5分版本则在一个单一的'from... to... to...'结构中列举了三个例子,是一种更有野心地把细节压缩进一句话的方式。

Uses a colon to introduce the Malaysian-team example and lists three small details before the summarising clause 'it all made me reflect'.用冒号引出马来西亚团队的例子,并在总结性从句'it all made me reflect'之前列出了三个小细节。

I think one major benefit of travelling abroad is the chance to see how people live and think outside your own familiar circle. For example, two years ago, I joined a week-long design workshop in Kuala Lumpur with designers from all over Southeast Asia. It really opened my eyes: I learned how a Malaysian team approached mobile app layouts totally differently from what we usually do in my studio. Besides the professional side, the food, the way people greeted each other, even just how they lined up for coffee — it all made me reflect on my own habits in Da Nang. To be fair, travelling can be tiring and expensive, but honestly, the exposure to new ideas is difficult to get any other way.

    • FCIt really opened my eyes: I learned how a Malaysian team approached mobile app layouts totally differentlyThe colon here introduces the specific learning point directly, more integrated than the dash used at 6.5 for a similar purpose. It's close to the 7.5 structure, which reaches a similar effect but folds the whole idea into one continuous sentence without a colon break.这里的冒号直接引出了具体的学习点,比6.5分中用于类似目的的破折号更融合。这也接近7.5分的结构,后者达到了类似的效果,但把整个想法融进了一个连续的句子里,没有用冒号断开。
    • LReven just how they lined up for coffeeThis third small detail adds a level of specificity the plainer 6.5 list ('the food and the way people greeted each other') doesn't reach. It shows a wider range of concrete, sensory vocabulary being deployed for effect.这第三个小细节增添了一层具体性,是6.5分中较平淡的列表('the food and the way people greeted each other')没有达到的。这体现出为了效果而调用了更丰富的具体、感官性词汇。
    • GRABesides the professional side, the food, the way people greeted each other, even just how they lined up for coffee — it all made me reflect on my own habits in Da Nang. This sentence lists three examples separated by commas before a dash-marked summarising clause, more ambitious than the two-item 'and' list at 6.5. It's close to the 7.5 version, which restructures the same list using 'from... to... to...' instead of commas.这句话用逗号分隔列出了三个例子,之后再接一个用破折号标出的总结从句,比6.5分中两项的'and'列表更有野心。这也接近7.5分版本,后者用'from... to... to...'重新组织了同样的列表,而不是用逗号。
    7.5 分

Opens with 'getting to see, up close' and restructures the list of small details with a 'from... to... to...' chain.以'getting to see, up close'开头,并用'from... to... to...'的链式结构重新组织了细节列表。

I'd say the biggest benefit of travelling abroad is getting to see, up close, how people live and think outside your own familiar circle. Two years ago, for instance, I joined a week-long design workshop in Kuala Lumpur alongside designers from across Southeast Asia, and it genuinely opened my eyes — I watched how a Malaysian team approached mobile app layouts in a way that was totally different from anything we'd try in my own studio. Beyond the professional side, even the smallest details, from the food to how people greeted each other to the way they casually lined up for coffee, nudged me into reflecting on my own habits back in Da Nang. Travelling can certainly be tiring and expensive, but honestly, that kind of exposure to new ideas and cultures is almost impossible to get any other way.

    • FCgetting to see, up close, how people live and think outside your own familiar circleInserting 'up close' as a mid-sentence aside gives this opening a more vivid sense of proximity than the plainer versions at 6.5 and 7.0. It signals from the first line that the answer will focus on direct, sensory experience.在句中插入'up close'作为旁白,让这个开头比6.5分和7.0分的版本都多了一种更生动的临近感。它从第一句起就暗示整个回答会聚焦在直接的感官体验上。
    • LRnudged me into reflecting on my own habits back in Da Nang'Nudged me into' is a more precise, gentle verb than the plainer 'made me think about' at 6.5 and 'made me reflect on' at 7.0. It suggests a subtle, cumulative effect rather than a sudden realisation.'Nudged me into'是一个比6.5分平淡的'made me think about'和7.0分的'made me reflect on'更精准、更温和的动词。它暗示的是一种微妙、累积的影响,而不是一次突然的顿悟。
    • GRAeven the smallest details, from the food to how people greeted each other to the way they casually lined up for coffee, nudged me into reflecting on my own habits back in Da NangThis sentence uses a 'from... to... to...' chain to list three examples inside one flowing subject phrase, more ambitious than the comma-separated list at 7.0 or the two-item list at 6.5. The extended subject before the verb 'nudged' shows confident control of a long, complex sentence.这句话用'from... to... to...'的链式结构,在一个流畅的主语短语中列出了三个例子,比7.0分中逗号分隔的列表或6.5分中两项的列表更有野心。在动词'nudged'之前这个延长的主语,展现出对长而复杂句子的自信掌控。

States the personal opinion plainly and supports it with a dash-introduced list of sensory details.平实地陈述个人观点,并用破折号引出的感官细节列表来支持这个观点。

I personally think travelling to a country is much better for learning about it than just reading books. Books can give you facts and some background, but you miss the small details — the atmosphere, the smells, the way people talk to each other. For example, when I visited Singapore for a design conference last year, I noticed how clean and organised things were, and how multicultural the city felt, just from walking around and talking to locals. That is something you cannot really get from a book. Reading is useful for context, but being there lets you experience daily life directly.

    我个人觉得,要了解一个国家,去那里旅行比光读书要好得多。书能给你事实和一些背景知识,但你会错过那些细小的细节——那种氛围、那些气味、人们互相说话的方式。比如去年我去新加坡参加一个设计大会,光是走走看看、和当地人聊聊天,我就注意到那里是多么干净有序,这座城市又是多么多元文化。这是从书里根本感受不到的东西。读书对了解背景很有用,但亲身在场能让你直接体验日常生活。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCI personally think travelling to a country is much better for learning about it than just reading books. This opening states the comparison plainly with 'much better than'. The higher bands upgrade this to 'beats reading about it hands down' (7.5), a more vivid, idiomatic way of expressing the same comparison.这个开头用'much better than'平实地陈述了比较。更高分段升级为'beats reading about it hands down'(7.5分),用一种更生动、更地道的方式表达同样的比较。
    • LRBooks can give you facts and some backgroundThis is plain, functional phrasing. The higher bands upgrade the verb to 'hand you the facts' (7.5), a more vivid, physical metaphor than the neutral 'give'.这是平实、功能性的表达。更高分段把动词升级为'hand you the facts'(7.5分),比中性的'give'更生动、更具画面感。
    • GRAThat is something you cannot really get from a book. This is a short, simple sentence. The 7.5 version instead expands this into 'That's exactly the kind of thing no book can hand you', using a fronted 'exactly' and a negative subject for a more emphatic, complex structure.这是一个简短、简单的句子。7.5分版本则把它扩展为'That's exactly the kind of thing no book can hand you',用一个前置的'exactly'和一个否定主语,构成了更强调、更复杂的结构。
    7.0 分

Adds 'actually' before 'travelling' and upgrades the verb to 'grasp' rather than the plainer 'get' used at 6.5.在'travelling'前加了'actually',并把动词升级为更精准的'grasp',取代了6.5分平淡的'get'。

Personally, I think actually travelling to a country is much better for learning about it than just reading books. Books can give you the facts and maybe some background, but you miss out on all the little details — the atmosphere, the smells, the way people talk to each other. For example, when I visited Singapore for a design conference last year, I noticed how clean and orderly things were, and how multicultural the city felt, just from walking around and chatting with locals. That's the kind of thing you can't really grasp from a book. Of course, reading is useful for context, but being physically present lets you experience how people live day to day.

    • FCPersonally, I think actually travelling to a country is much betterAdding 'actually' before the verb emphasises the contrast with merely reading, a small but genuine intensifier the 6.5 band lacks. It's a step toward the 7.5 opening's more idiomatic 'beats reading about it hands down'.在动词前加上'actually',突出了与单纯读书之间的对比,这是6.5分所缺少的一个小而真实的强调语。这也是朝着7.5分开头更地道的说法'beats reading about it hands down'迈出的一步。
    • LRyou can't really grasp from a book'Grasp' is a more precise, slightly figurative verb than the plain 'get' used at 6.5. It is shared closely with the 7.5 phrasing 'no book can hand you', showing both higher bands move beyond the neutral verb 'get'.'Grasp'是一个比6.5分平淡的'get'更精准、略带比喻色彩的动词。它与7.5分的说法'no book can hand you'关系密切,说明两个较高分段都超越了中性动词'get'。
    • GRAbeing physically present lets you experience how people live day to dayThis closing sentence uses 'physically present' as a precise noun phrase subject, more formal than the plainer 'being there' at 6.5. It's close to the 7.5 version, which extends the same idea with 'nothing quite substitutes for', a more elaborate negative construction.这句结尾用'physically present'作为一个精准的名词短语主语,比6.5分中较平淡的'being there'更正式。这也接近7.5分版本,后者用'nothing quite substitutes for'延伸了同样的想法,构成了一个更复杂的否定结构。
    7.5 分

Opens with the idiom 'beats reading about it hands down' and closes with the emphatic negative construction 'nothing quite substitutes for'.以习语'beats reading about it hands down'开头,并用强调性否定结构'nothing quite substitutes for'收尾。

Personally, I'd say actually travelling to a country beats reading about it hands down, at least when it comes to genuinely understanding a place. Books can hand you the facts and a decent amount of background, but they inevitably miss the small, sensory details — the atmosphere, the smells, the particular way people talk to one another. When I visited Singapore for a design conference last year, for instance, I picked up on how clean and orderly everything felt, and how multicultural the city actually was, simply from walking around and chatting with locals. That's exactly the kind of thing no book can hand you. Reading still has its place for context and history, but nothing quite substitutes for being physically present and watching how people actually live day to day.

    • FCbeats reading about it hands downThis idiom is a far more vivid and confident way of stating the comparison than the plain 'much better than' used at 6.5 and 7.0. It signals the answer's clear stance from the very first sentence.这个习语是一种比6.5分和7.0分中平淡的'much better than'远为生动、自信的比较方式。它从第一句就传达出了回答鲜明的立场。
    • LRthe small, sensory details'Sensory' is a more precise, almost technical adjective than the plainer 'little details' or 'small details' used at 6.5 and 7.0. It names the category of missing information rather than just gesturing at it.'Sensory'是一个比6.5分和7.0分中较平淡的'little details'或'small details'更精准、近乎专业术语的形容词。它直接点明了缺失信息的类别,而不只是含糊地指向它。
    • GRAnothing quite substitutes for being physically present and watching how people actually live day to dayThis closing sentence uses an emphatic negative construction ('nothing quite substitutes for') followed by two coordinated gerunds, more ambitious than the simpler declarative closing sentences at 6.5 and 7.0. The negative framing gives the conclusion more rhetorical force.这句结尾用了一个强调性否定结构('nothing quite substitutes for'),后面跟着两个并列的动名词,比6.5分和7.0分中更简单的陈述式结尾句更有野心。这种否定式框架为结论赋予了更强的修辞力度。
