The long walk I really enjoyed was on Son Tra Peninsula with my father, about a year ago when he came to visit me in Da Nang.
We started early in the morning, around six, because it gets very hot later in the day. We walked along one of the paths through the forest instead of driving, which most tourists do. It took us almost four hours to go up and come back down.
On the way we saw a lot of things. There were monkeys jumping between the trees close to the road, which my father found very exciting because he'd never seen wild monkeys before. We also stopped at a viewpoint where you can see the whole of Da Nang city and the sea at the same time, and near the top we saw the big Lady Buddha statue, which is very famous here.
I enjoyed the walk mainly because I don't often get to spend a whole day with my father. We talked a lot while we were walking, about small things and also about his work when he was younger. By the end my legs were aching, but it was one of the best days I've had with him in a long time, and we still talk about the monkeys now.
