Complaints are stated plainly and directly ('I could guess almost every jump scare before it happened') with a short, blunt closing observation about the friend falling asleep, correct but minimally developed.
A film I really did not like was a horror movie from the Conjuring series, which I watched about six months ago. I did not go to the cinema for this one - I just watched it at home on Netflix one rainy Sunday afternoon with my colleague Nam, because we were both bored and wanted to watch something together.
The film was about a family who move into a new house and start experiencing strange and scary events, which turn out to be caused by an evil spirit. At first it seemed quite exciting, but after thirty minutes, I felt like I had already seen this story many times before in other horror movies.
The main reason I did not like it was that it felt too predictable. I could guess almost every jump scare before it happened, and the characters kept making silly decisions, like going into dark rooms alone. It also used loud sudden noises a lot instead of building real tension, which I found more annoying than scary. Nam actually fell asleep near the end, which says a lot. By the time it finished, I just felt like I had wasted an afternoon, and I have not watched a horror film since then.

- GRA“I felt like I had already seen this story many times before in other horror movies.” — "Felt like" introduces a subordinate clause functioning almost as a simile for familiarity, combined with the past perfect ("had already seen") to mark the feeling as pre-existing at that point in the story. This is accurate and clear, but a basic, common way of expressing déjà vu compared to a more marked structure, like a cleft sentence ("What struck me was how familiar it all felt"), that a Band 7.5 answer might use."Felt like"引出一个从句,几乎起到比喻"熟悉感"的作用,再配合过去完成时("had already seen")来标记这种感觉在故事那个时刻之前就已经存在。
- LR“I could guess almost every jump scare before it happened” — "Could guess" and "jump scare" use plain, accessible vocabulary -- the latter a common enough genre term rather than a technical or idiomatic reach -- to state the core criticism of predictability directly, instead of a more evaluative or figurative phrase a higher band might use (e.g. "the film telegraphed every scare"). This directness fits Band 6.5's preference for clear, unadorned criticism."Could guess"和"jump scare"使用的是平实、易懂的词汇——后者是一个足够常见的类型术语,而非刻意的技术性或习语化表达——直接说出对影片可预测性的核心批评,而不是像更高band可能使用的那种更具评价性或比喻性的说法(例如"the film telegraphed every scare")。
- FC“Nam actually fell asleep near the end, which says a lot.” — The anecdote (Nam falling asleep) is offered as evidence, and "which says a lot" gestures at an implied conclusion (the film was boring) without spelling it out further. This is a minimal, understated closing move that stays at the plain, direct level Band 6.5 requires rather than developing the implication into an explicit reflective sentence.
