The answer covers each cue-card point in short, plain sentences ('it wouldn't be too hard') and ends with a simple, direct summary of the trip.这段回答用简短朴素的句子逐一回应题卡上的每一点('不会太难'),并以一句简单直接的总结为整趟旅行收尾。

A trip I think would be interesting is a motorbike ride to Thanh Hà pottery village, near Hoi An, about forty minutes from where I live in Da Nang.

Where I could go is along the coast road first, then inland through small villages and rice fields before reaching Thanh Hà, which is famous for its traditional clay pottery, made the same way for hundreds of years.

Who I could go with is my colleague Quân, who is interested in traditional crafts and has been asking me to go with him for months. He knows the area a little already because his grandmother is from near Hoi An.

How easy or difficult the trip would be, I think it wouldn't be too hard. The road is mostly flat and not very busy, unlike the mountain passes near here, so it should be a relaxed ride rather than a challenging one. The only difficult part might be the traffic near Hoi An itself, which gets crowded with tourists and buses, especially in the afternoon. I imagine we would leave early, watch the potters working, maybe try making something ourselves, and have lunch in the village before riding back. It sounds like an easy, enjoyable day trip rather than a difficult adventure, which is exactly what I want after a busy week at work.

  • LRA trip I think would be interesting is a motorbike ride to Thanh Hà pottery villageThe trip is named in plain, functional language, restating the prompt's structure almost directly with no descriptive flourish about the destination itself beyond naming it. That direct, unembellished restatement is the Band 6.5 baseline, clear and on-topic, with the more vivid description saved for later in the answer.这次旅行是用平实、功能性的语言来命名的,几乎是直接重复题目的结构,除了点出地名之外,没有对目的地本身做任何描述性的润色。这种直接、不加修饰的复述,正是Band 6.5的基准水平——清晰、切题,把更生动的描写留到答案的后面部分。
  • GRAit wouldn't be too hard"It wouldn't be too hard" is about as minimal a clause as English allows while still expressing an opinion, subject, verb, and a simple degree modifier, with no subordination at all. That kind of very short, correct-but-minimal sentence is characteristic Band 6.5 grammar, used here almost as a topic sentence before the explanation that follows.'It wouldn't be too hard'(应该不会太难)几乎是英语中能表达一个观点的最简形式——主语、动词,加一个简单的程度修饰语,完全没有从句嵌套。这种非常简短、正确但极简的句子,正是Band 6.5的典型语法特征,这里几乎被当作一个主题句,引出后面的解释。
  • FCIt sounds like an easy, enjoyable day trip rather than a difficult adventureThe closing sentence states a plain contrast ("an easy, enjoyable day trip rather than a difficult adventure") and stops there, without connecting it explicitly back to why an easy trip matters to the speaker, which the answer only gestures at with "after a busy week at work". That direct summary-style closing, correct but not deeply developed, is typical Band 6.5 coherence.这个结尾句陈述了一个简单的对比('an easy, enjoyable day trip rather than a difficult adventure',一次轻松愉快的一日游,而不是一场艰难的冒险)然后就此打住,没有明确地把这一点与轻松的行程对说话者为何重要联系起来,答案只是通过'after a busy week at work'(在忙碌的一周工作之后)略微暗示了这一点。这种直接的总结式收尾,正确但缺乏深入发展,是Band 6.5连贯性的典型特征。
7.0 分

The answer chains reasons and results into comfortable complex sentences and uses the natural discourse marker 'honestly' in its closing line, sounding fluent without reaching for unusual vocabulary.这段回答把原因和结果串联成自然的复杂句,并在结尾用了'说实话'这个自然的话语标记,听起来流畅,用词也不算特别。

A trip I think would be genuinely interesting is a motorbike ride out to Thanh Hà pottery village, which is near Hoi An, maybe forty minutes or so from where I live in Da Nang.

In terms of where I'd go, I'd probably take the coastal road first, since the views are much better than the highway, and then cut inland through a few small villages and rice fields before reaching Thanh Hà itself, which has been making traditional clay pottery in more or less the same way for hundreds of years.

I'd want to go with my colleague Quân, who's really into traditional crafts and has been suggesting this trip to me for months now. He actually knows the area a little already, since his grandmother grew up somewhere near Hoi An.

As for how easy or difficult it would be, I don't think it would be too demanding overall. The road is mostly flat and fairly quiet, especially compared with the mountain routes further north, so it would be more of a relaxed ride than a challenging one. The trickiest part would probably be getting through Hoi An itself, which tends to get busy with tourist buses in the afternoon. I imagine we'd set off early, spend some time watching the potters work, maybe try shaping something ourselves even if it turns out badly, and then grab lunch somewhere in the village before heading back. All in all, it sounds like an easy, enjoyable day trip rather than anything too adventurous, which honestly is exactly what I'd want after a stressful week at work.

  • GRAI'd probably take the coastal road first, since the views are much better than the highway, and then cut inland through a few small villages and rice fieldsA since-clause justifying the route choice is chained with two coordinated verbs ("take... and then cut") describing sequential actions, keeping the sentence moving through cause and sequence without a full stop -- the "comfortable mix of simple and complex sentences, generally accurate" that defines Band 7.0 grammar, more ambitious than 6.5's short clauses but without the more varied embedded structures that would mark 7.5. The comparative "much better than the highway" also gives a concrete reason rather than a vague preference.一个为路线选择提供理由的"since"从句,与两个并列动词("take... and then cut")描述的连续动作连接在一起,让句子在因果与顺序之间不停顿地持续推进——这正是"简单句与复杂句的从容混合,总体准确"这一定义Band 7.0语法的特征,比Band 6.5的短小从句更有野心,但还没有会标志Band 7.5的那种更多样化的嵌套结构。具体的比较"much better than the highway"也给出了一个具体的理由,而非模糊的偏好表达。
  • LRwho's really into traditional crafts and has been suggesting this trip to me for months now"Really into" is an informal collocation meaning "keenly interested in," more natural in spoken English than a formal equivalent like "passionate about," paired here with the present perfect continuous "has been suggesting... for months" to show an ongoing habit -- everyday-but-flexible vocabulary combined with accurate tense use, both rewarded together at Band 7.0. It also characterizes Quân through specific behavior rather than a flat adjective."Really into"是一个口语化的搭配,意思是"对……很感兴趣",在口语英语中比正式的对应表达"passionate about"更自然,这里与现在完成进行时"has been suggesting... for months"搭配使用,表现出一种持续进行的习惯——日常但灵活的词汇与准确的时态运用相结合,两者在Band 7.0中被一并给予肯定。它也通过具体行为而非平淡的形容词来刻画Quân的性格。
  • FCThe trickiest part would probably be getting through Hoi An itself, which tends to get busy with tourist buses in the afternoon. The superlative framing ("The trickiest part") signals a shift from route description to risk assessment, and the following relative clause supplies the concrete reason (tourist buses in the afternoon) in the same breath -- this reason-plus-example move within one sentence is exactly the development the Band 7.0 fluency and coherence target wants ("develop the answer with a reason and one short concrete example"). A 6.5 answer would likely state this as two separate sentences without the embedded cause.开头使用最高级结构("The trickiest part")标志着话题从描述路线转向风险评估,紧接着的关系从句在同一句话里就给出了具体原因(下午的旅游大巴)——这种在一句话内完成"给理由加举例"的手法,正是Band 7.0流利度与连贯性标准所要求的("用一个理由和一个简短具体的例子来展开答案")。Band 6.5的答案很可能会把这个原因拆成两个独立的句子,而不会像这样把因果关系嵌入同一句中。
  • LRwhich honestly is exactly what I'd want after a stressful week at work"Honestly" functions here as a stance adverb signalling genuine personal reflection rather than a scripted conclusion, paired with the natural intensifier "exactly what I'd want" rather than a flatter phrase like "what I need" -- small, deliberate choices that keep the closing line sounding like real spoken reflection, consistent with Band 7.0's "fluent and natural without sounding formal or rehearsed." It also ties the imagined trip back to the speaker's actual motivation: relaxation after a stressful week."Honestly" 在这里起到表达立场的副词作用,传达的是真实的个人反思,而非事先写好的结论;紧接着用自然的强调说法"exactly what I'd want",而不是更平淡的"what I need"——这些细微却刻意的选择,让结尾听起来像是真实的口头思考,契合Band 7.0"流利自然、不显得正式或背诵腔"的标准。这句话还把想象中的旅行与说话者真正的动机联系了起来:在紧张的一周后得到放松。
7.5 分

The answer uses evocative description ('stunning coastal views') and closes on a genuinely reflective point contrasting conversation and comfortable silence, both hallmarks of Band 7.5.这段回答用了富有感染力的描写('令人惊艳的海岸风光'),并以一个真正有反思意味的观点收尾——把交谈和舒适的沉默进行对比——这两点都是Band 7.5的标志性特征。

If I could choose any trip to take soon, I think a motorbike ride along the Hai Van Pass would be seriously interesting. It's only about a 30-minute ride from where I live in Da Nang, but the road itself winds through the mountains and offers some of the most stunning coastal views in central Vietnam. I've seen so many photos and videos, but somehow I still haven't done it myself.

I'd want to go with my friend Minh, who's confident on a motorbike and also into photography. He's got this old digital camera that he always brings on trips. I imagine we'd start early in the morning to avoid the crowds and heat. Maybe we'd stop for strong roadside coffee and take breaks at those lookout points where you can see the train tracks snake along the cliffs. If we had time, we could end up in Lang Co for a seafood lunch before heading back.

Honestly, the ride wouldn't be extremely difficult but you do have to stay pretty alert-there are sharp turns and sometimes trucks or tourist buses on the road. I think it would be easier with Minh because he's experienced, and riding together means we could help each other out if anything happened, like a flat tire. The only thing I'm a bit nervous about is the sudden weather changes over the pass-it can get foggy or rainy in a flash, so I'd probably bring a rain poncho just in case.

Overall, I think this motorbike trip would be both a bit challenging and really rewarding. The scenery, the freedom of the open road, and just having hours to chat or ride in comfortable silence with a friend sound pretty unforgettable to me.

  • LRthe road itself winds through the mountains and offers some of the most stunning coastal views in central Vietnam"Winds through," "offers," and "stunning" are all more precise and evocative choices than plainer equivalents ("goes through the mountains" and "has nice views"), and the superlative "some of the most stunning coastal views in central Vietnam" makes a specific, confident claim rather than a vague one -- this is the "several precise or less-common words and collocations" the Band 7.5 lexical target asks for, deployed descriptively here rather than idiomatically. It also does concrete work justifying why this particular route was chosen over others."Winds through""offers"和"stunning"都是比平实说法("goes through the mountains"和"has nice views")更精准、更具画面感的用词选择,而最高级结构"some of the most stunning coastal views in central Vietnam"给出的是一个具体而自信的断言,而非模糊笼统的说法——这正是7.5分词汇目标所要求的"若干精准或不常见的词汇与搭配",这里是以描述性的方式而非习语性的方式运用的。它也切实地说明了为什么偏偏选择了这条路线而非其他路线。
  • GRAyou do have to stay pretty alert-there are sharp turns and sometimes trucks or tourist buses on the roadThe dash functions like a colon, introducing a list of concrete reasons for the preceding claim without a separate connective word -- a naturally spoken way of elaborating that avoids formal subordinators like "because" or "since," fitting the varied, mostly error-free structures the Band 7.5 grammar target wants without ever sounding written or academic. It also grounds the general warning ("stay alert") in specific, visualizable hazards rather than leaving it abstract.破折号在这里起到了类似冒号的作用,不用单独的连接词就引出了一串支撑前述论断的具体理由——这是一种自然的口语化展开方式,避免了"because"或"since"这类正式的从属连词,契合了7.5分语法目标所希望的多样且基本无误的结构,同时听起来毫无书面语或学术腔调。它还把笼统的警示("stay alert")落实到具体、可想象的危险情境上,而不是让它停留在抽象层面。
  • FCthe freedom of the open road, and just having hours to chat or ride in comfortable silence with a friend sound pretty unforgettable to meThe sentence pairs two different kinds of pleasure -- an active one (freedom of the open road) and a quieter one (comfortable silence with a friend) -- under a single subject and verb, making an explicit personal evaluation ("sound pretty unforgettable to me") rather than simply describing the trip's stages. This is the single clear reflective or evaluative point the Band 7.5 fluency and coherence target calls for; a 7.0 closing would likely settle for just one of these two ideas rather than balancing both.这句话把两种不同的快乐——一种是主动型的(开阔道路带来的自由感),一种是更安静型的(与朋友相处时舒适的沉默)——放在同一个主语和动词之下,做出了一个明确的个人评价("sound pretty unforgettable to me"),而不只是描述旅程的各个阶段。这正是7.5分流利度与连贯性目标所要求的那个清晰的反思性或评价性观点;7.0分的结尾很可能只会满足于这两个想法中的一个,而无法把两者都兼顾平衡。

    6.5 分

This answer stays at 6.5 because it links ideas with a plain 'so' and offers one flat example rather than any reflection, as in 'So motorbikes are the most popular way to travel here'.这个回答停留在6.5分,是因为它只用一个平淡的'so'来连接观点,并且只给出一个平铺直叙的例子而没有任何反思,比如'So motorbikes are the most popular way to travel here'。

Motorbikes are very popular in my country. You see them everywhere, especially in cities. Bicycles are not as common now, so mostly students or old people ride them. For example, my colleague Huy still rides his bicycle to work by the Han River every morning, but everyone else in our team uses motorbikes because it is faster. So motorbikes are the most popular way to travel here, and bicycles are becoming less common.

    查看中文翻译

    摩托车在我们国家非常受欢迎。到处都能看到摩托车,尤其是在城市里。自行车现在没那么常见了,所以骑自行车的大多是学生或老年人。比如,我的同事阿辉每天早上还是骑自行车沿韩江去上班,但我们团队里其他人都用摩托车,因为更快。所以摩托车是这里最受欢迎的出行方式,而自行车正变得越来越少见。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCSo motorbikes are the most popular way to travel hereThe connector 'So' opens the closing sentence in a flat, mechanical way typical of 6.5 answers, simply restating the point rather than reflecting on it. A 7.0 answer would use a softer spoken opener like 'Honestly' or 'I'd say', while a lower band might drop connectors altogether and just list facts one after another.连接词'So'以一种平淡、机械的方式开启了结尾句,这是6.5分回答的典型特征——只是重申观点而没有反思。7.0分的回答会使用更柔和的口语化开头,比如'Honestly'或'I'd say',而更低分的回答可能干脆不用连接词,只是把事实一条条罗列出来。
    • LRvery popularThis is a basic intensifier-plus-adjective pairing drawn from everyday vocabulary, with no attempt at a more specific or vivid collocation. A 7.5 answer would reach for something more idiomatic, like 'the undisputed king of the road', while a weaker band might just repeat 'popular' with no modifier at all.这是一个由日常词汇构成的基础"强调词+形容词"组合,没有尝试使用更具体或更生动的搭配。7.5分的回答会选用更地道的表达,比如'the undisputed king of the road',而分数更低的回答可能干脆只重复'popular'这个词,不加任何修饰语。
    • GRAmy colleague Huy still rides his bicycle to workThis is a simple present-tense clause in plain subject-verb-object order with no subordination or embedding. A higher band would compress this into a participial or contrastive structure, such as adding 'while the rest of us...' in the same breath, whereas a weaker candidate might struggle with subject-verb agreement here.这是一个简单的现在时从句,采用平铺直叙的主谓宾结构,没有从属或嵌套结构。更高分的回答会把它压缩成分词结构或对比结构,比如在同一句话里加上'while the rest of us...',而水平较弱的考生可能在主谓一致上都会出错。
    7.0 分

This is a solid 7.0 answer because it opens with the natural spoken marker 'Honestly' and adds a mild qualifying remark with 'To be fair', going slightly beyond a flat statement of fact.这是一个扎实的7.0分回答,因为它以自然的口语标记'Honestly'开头,并用'To be fair'加入了一句温和的限定性评论,略微超越了平铺直叙的事实陈述。

Honestly, motorbikes are pretty much everywhere here, and I'd say they're the most popular way to get around, especially in busy cities. Bicycles used to be more common, but these days they're mostly ridden by students or older people, or just for exercise. My colleague Huy, for instance, still cycles to our office by the Han River every morning, while the rest of the team sticks to motorbikes because they're quicker and more convenient. To be fair, there's still something nice about the quieter, bicycle-filled streets of the past, but motorbikes really do fit the pace of daily life now.

    • FCHonestly, motorbikes are pretty much everywhere hereOpening with the spoken discourse marker 'Honestly' signals natural, conversational fluency rather than a scripted list of facts. A 6.5 answer would likely start with a bare statement like 'Motorbikes are very popular', while a 7.5 answer might replace it with something more distinctive, like a rhetorical claim about their dominance.以口语话语标记'Honestly'开头,展现出自然的对话式流利度,而不是像背诵事实清单一样。6.5分的回答可能会以'Motorbikes are very popular'这样直白的陈述开头,而7.5分的回答可能会换成更有特色的表达,比如关于摩托车主导地位的修辞性论断。
    • LRsticks to motorbikesThe phrasal verb 'sticks to' is a natural, moderately idiomatic collocation that goes beyond bare vocabulary like 'uses'. A 6.5 candidate would likely just repeat 'uses motorbikes', while a 7.5 answer might reach for something even more vivid, such as 'defaults to motorbikes'.短语动词'sticks to'是一种自然、略带习语色彩的搭配,超越了'uses'这类基础词汇。6.5分的考生可能只会重复'uses motorbikes',而7.5分的回答可能会选用更生动的表达,比如'defaults to motorbikes'。
    • GRAwhile the rest of the team sticks to motorbikes because they're quicker and more convenientThis is a single moderately complex sentence combining a contrastive subordinate clause ('while') with a causal one ('because'), showing controlled sentence-building. A 6.5 answer would split this into two short separate sentences, while a 7.5 response might compress it further using a participial phrase instead of two full clauses.这是一个中等复杂度的单句,把一个表对比的从属分句('while')和一个表原因的分句('because')结合在一起,展现出有控制力的造句能力。6.5分的回答会把它拆成两个简短的独立句子,而7.5分的回答可能会用分词结构进一步压缩,而不是用两个完整的分句。
    7.5 分

This reaches 7.5 through vivid, idiomatic phrasing like 'the undisputed king of the road' and a compact participial closing clause, 'drawn by their sheer practicality', rather than a plain second sentence.这个回答之所以能达到7.5分,是因为使用了生动、地道的表达,比如'the undisputed king of the road',以及紧凑的分词结尾分句'drawn by their sheer practicality',而不是用平淡的第二句话来表达。

Motorbikes, I'd say, are the undisputed king of the road here — you can't miss the sheer scale of it, from schoolkids on the back seat to entire families balanced on a single scooter. Bicycles, meanwhile, have been pushed to the margins, surviving mainly among students, retirees, or the occasional fitness enthusiast. My colleague Huy is something of an exception, pedalling to our riverside office every morning while the rest of us default to motorbikes, drawn by their sheer practicality in unpredictable weather. If anything, there's a faint nostalgia for those quieter, bicycle-filled streets, even as motorbikes cement their grip on daily life.

    • FCIf anything, there's a faint nostalgia for those quieter, bicycle-filled streetsThis closing evaluative remark adds a reflective, slightly wistful observation rather than simply restating the main point, which is characteristic of higher-band answers. A 7.0 response would likely end more plainly with 'but motorbikes really do fit the pace of daily life', while a 6.5 answer would omit this kind of closing nuance entirely.这句评价性的结尾增添了一种略带感伤的反思性观察,而不只是简单地重申主要观点,这正是高分回答的特点。7.0分的回答可能会更平淡地以'but motorbikes really do fit the pace of daily life'收尾,而6.5分的回答则会完全省略这种结尾的细腻感。
    • LRundisputed king of the roadThis is a vivid, idiomatic collocation well beyond common vocabulary, showing genuine lexical flexibility rather than safe, literal wording. A 7.0 answer would more likely use a plainer phrase like 'the most popular way to get around', and a 6.5 answer would simply say 'very popular'.这是一个生动、地道的搭配,远超普通词汇,展现出真正的词汇灵活性,而不是保守、字面化的表达。7.0分的回答更可能使用较为平实的说法,比如'the most popular way to get around',而6.5分的回答则会直接说'very popular'。
    • GRApedalling to our riverside office every morning while the rest of us default to motorbikes, drawn by their sheer practicality in unpredictable weatherThis sentence uses a participial phrase ('drawn by...') tacked onto a subordinate clause, compressing what would otherwise need two extra sentences into one flexible structure. A 7.0 answer would likely break this into two separate finite clauses, and a 6.5 answer would use only simple, unlinked sentences.这句话使用了一个分词短语('drawn by...')附加在从属分句之后,把原本需要两个额外句子表达的内容压缩成一个灵活的结构。7.0分的回答很可能会把它拆成两个独立的限定分句,而6.5分的回答则只会用简单、彼此不连接的句子。

    6.5 分

This is a 6.5-level response because it strings together short, plain sentences with simple linking words like 'but', as seen in 'Buses are getting better too, but for daily life'.这是一个6.5分水平的回答,因为它用简单的连接词(比如'but')把一些简短、平实的句子串联起来,例如'Buses are getting better too, but for daily life'。

I think the best thing about transport here is how convenient motorbikes are. It is easy and fast to get around the city. For example, last Friday morning I needed to take a prototype to a print shop across town. I rode my motorbike along the river, past Dragon Bridge, and avoided the traffic jams. It only took twenty minutes. Buses are getting better too, but for daily life, nothing is as good as a motorbike.

    查看中文翻译

    我觉得这里交通最好的一点就是摩托车很方便。在城市里出行既容易又快。比如上周五早上,我需要把一个样品送到城里另一头的打印店。我骑摩托车沿着江边走,经过龙桥,避开了堵车。只花了二十分钟。公交车也在变好,但日常生活中,没有什么比摩托车更好用了。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCBuses are getting better too, but for daily lifeThe simple connector 'but' joins two plain ideas without any softening or spoken-style hedging. A 7.0 answer would add a hedge like 'To be fair' before this contrast, while a lower band might not link the two ideas at all.简单的连接词'but'把两个平实的观点连接在一起,没有任何缓和或口语化的限定语。7.0分的回答会在这个对比之前加上像'To be fair'这样的限定语,而更低分的回答可能干脆不把这两个观点连接起来。
    • LRconvenientThis single common adjective describes the motorbike experience without any supporting detail or vivid modifier. A 7.5 answer would instead use a livelier phrase like 'weaving through the city', while a weaker band might avoid describing the quality at all.这个单一的常见形容词描述了骑摩托车的体验,却没有任何支撑细节或生动的修饰语。7.5分的回答会改用更有活力的表达,比如'weaving through the city',而更弱的回答可能干脆不去描述这种体验的特质。
    • GRAI rode my motorbike along the river, past Dragon Bridge, and avoided the traffic jams. This sentence lists three simple actions joined by commas and 'and' in a basic coordinated structure. A 7.0 answer would combine this with a purpose clause like 'so I took a shortcut', and a 7.5 answer would open with a fronted participial clause instead.这句话用逗号和'and'把三个简单的动作列举在一起,是一种基础的并列结构。7.0分的回答会加上一个表目的的分句,比如'so I took a shortcut',而7.5分的回答则会改用前置的分词分句开头。
    7.0 分

This sits at 7.0 thanks to the natural qualifying phrase 'To be fair' and a moderately complex sentence joining a purpose clause with a participle, 'so I took a shortcut... passing Dragon Bridge'.这个回答达到7.0分,得益于自然的限定短语'To be fair',以及一个把目的分句和分词结构结合在一起的中等复杂句子,'so I took a shortcut... passing Dragon Bridge'。

Honestly, I think the best thing about getting around here is the sheer convenience of a motorbike. For instance, last Friday morning I had to deliver a prototype to a print shop across town before work, so I took a shortcut along the river, passing Dragon Bridge and dodging most of the traffic jams cars usually get stuck in. The ride only took about twenty minutes, and I actually enjoyed the morning breeze along the way. To be fair, public buses are improving too, but day to day, nothing really beats the freedom a motorbike gives you.

    说实话,我觉得这里出行最好的一点就是摩托车真的非常方便。比如上周五早上,我上班前得把一个样品送到城里另一头的打印店,于是我沿着江边抄了近路,经过龙桥,躲开了大部分让汽车堵在那儿的车流。这趟车程只花了大约二十分钟,而且我还挺享受一路上的晨风。说句公道话,公交车也在改善,但日常来说,没有什么比得上摩托车带给你的那种自由。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCTo be fair, public buses are improving tooThis spoken hedge softens the overall claim before returning to the main opinion, showing natural conversational balance. A 6.5 answer would state this as a flat separate fact, while a 7.5 answer might replace it with a more idiomatic concession like 'admittedly'.这个口语化的限定语在回到主要观点之前先软化了整体的论断,展现出自然的对话平衡感。6.5分的回答会把这一点表述成一个平淡的独立事实,而7.5分的回答可能会换成更地道的让步表达,比如'admittedly'。
    • LRdodging most of the traffic jamsThe verb 'dodging' is a more natural, moderately vivid choice than the plain 'avoided' used at a lower band. A 6.5 response would likely just say 'avoided the traffic jams', while a 7.5 answer might use an even sharper verb like 'slipping past'.动词'dodging'是一个更自然、稍显生动的选择,胜过低分回答中使用的平实词'avoided'。6.5分的回答很可能只会说'avoided the traffic jams',而7.5分的回答可能会用更犀利的动词,比如'slipping past'。
    • GRAso I took a shortcut along the river, passing Dragon Bridge and dodging most of the traffic jams cars usually get stuck inThis sentence combines a result clause introduced by 'so' with a participial phrase and an embedded relative clause, showing controlled complexity in one breath. A 6.5 answer would split this into three short separate sentences, while a 7.5 answer might front the participial clause for extra compactness.这句话把一个由'so'引导的结果分句、一个分词短语和一个嵌入的关系分句结合在一起,一口气展现出有控制力的复杂结构。6.5分的回答会把它拆成三个简短的独立句子,而7.5分的回答可能会把分词分句前置,以进一步增强紧凑感。
    7.5 分

This reaches 7.5 through the fronted participial clause 'needing to get a prototype...' and the idiomatic closing image 'two wheels and an open road', both of which compress and elevate the register beyond a standard sentence.这个回答之所以能达到7.5分,是因为使用了前置的分词分句'needing to get a prototype...',以及地道的收尾意象'two wheels and an open road',二者都把语言压缩并提升到超越普通句子的语域水平。

If I had to pick one thing, it would be the sheer flexibility motorbikes give you for weaving through the city. Take last Friday morning: needing to get a prototype to a print shop across town before work, I cut along the riverside past Dragon Bridge, slipping past most of the jams that leave cars crawling. Twenty minutes later I'd arrived, having caught the morning breeze and watched the city wake up along the way. Buses are, admittedly, improving, yet for everyday errands, nothing quite matches the freedom of two wheels and an open road.

    • FCBuses are, admittedly, improving, yet for everyday errandsThe parenthetical 'admittedly' inserted mid-clause, followed by 'yet', shows a more sophisticated way of conceding a point than a simple 'but' at the start of a sentence. A 7.0 answer would place a similar hedge, 'To be fair', at the front of the sentence instead, and a 6.5 answer would just use 'too, but'.插入分句中间的插入语'admittedly',后面再接'yet',展现出一种比句首简单用'but'更精巧的让步方式。7.0分的回答会把类似的限定语'To be fair'放在句子开头,而6.5分的回答则只会用'too, but'。
    • LRweaving through the cityThis is a livelier, more image-based collocation than the plain 'convenient' or 'convenience' used at lower bands. A 7.0 answer would use the safer 'the sheer convenience of a motorbike', while a 6.5 answer would only manage the bare adjective 'convenient'.这是一个更有活力、更具画面感的搭配,胜过低分回答中使用的平实词'convenient'或'convenience'。7.0分的回答会使用较为保守的'the sheer convenience of a motorbike',而6.5分的回答则只能用光秃秃的形容词'convenient'。
    • GRAneeding to get a prototype to a print shop across town before work, I cut along the riverside past Dragon BridgeThis is a fronted participial clause replacing a full subordinate clause like 'because I needed to', which compresses the sentence and varies its opening. A 7.0 answer would keep the subordinator 'so' and place the reason after the main clause, and a 6.5 answer would use two short separate sentences instead.这是一个前置的分词分句,替代了像'because I needed to'这样完整的从属分句,压缩了句子结构,也让句子的开头更有变化。7.0分的回答会保留从属连词'so',并把原因放在主句之后,而6.5分的回答则会改用两个简短的独立句子。

    6.5 分

This answer is 6.5 level because of its short, direct sentences and the plain concluding remark 'but I think the trend is clear', which offers no further reflection.这个回答是6.5分水平,因为它句子简短直接,而结尾的评论'but I think the trend is clear'也很平淡,没有进一步的反思。

Yes, I think more people want to buy cars now. There are new car shops opening on Nguyen Van Linh street. For example, my colleague Minh is saving money for a small car because he gets wet on his motorbike when it rains a lot. Cars are still not as common as motorbikes, but owning one feels like a big achievement now. Some people worry about traffic and parking, but I think the trend is clear.

    是的,我觉得现在越来越多人想买车了。阮文灵街上有新的车行开张。比如,我的同事阿明正在攒钱买一辆小汽车,因为下大雨时骑摩托车会被淋湿。汽车现在还是不如摩托车常见,但拥有一辆车现在感觉像是一种很大的成就。有些人担心交通和停车问题,但我觉得这个趋势很明显。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCYes, I think more people want to buy cars now. This opening sentence gives a direct position in a short, simple structure typical of 6.5 speakers, with no hedge or softening device. A 7.0 answer would soften this with a spoken marker like 'I'd say', while a 7.5 answer might open with an even more distinctive framing.这句开头用简短、简单的结构直接给出立场,是6.5分考生的典型特征,没有任何限定语或软化手段。7.0分的回答会用像'I'd say'这样的口语标记来软化,而7.5分的回答可能会用更有特色的方式开头。
    • LRbig achievementThis is a simple, common noun phrase used to describe car ownership, without any more specific or idiomatic alternative. A 7.0 answer would use the more precise 'a kind of milestone', and a 7.5 answer might go further still with 'a milestone people aspire to'.这是一个简单、常见的名词短语,用来描述拥有汽车这件事,没有更具体或更地道的替代表达。7.0分的回答会使用更精确的'a kind of milestone',而7.5分的回答可能会更进一步,用'a milestone people aspire to'。
    • GRAmy colleague Minh is saving money for a small car because he gets wet on his motorbike when it rains a lotThis long sentence is built from simple clauses joined only by 'because', without any more advanced connecting device. A 7.0 answer would tighten 'gets wet' into a more idiomatic phrase like 'getting soaked', and a 7.5 answer would compress the whole idea into a participial phrase.这个长句子是由几个简单分句用'because'连接而成的,没有使用更高级的连接手段。7.0分的回答会把'gets wet'收紧成更地道的表达,比如'getting soaked',而7.5分的回答则会把整个想法压缩成一个分词短语。
    7.0 分

This is a 7.0 answer because of the natural hedge 'at least from what I notice around here' and the mildly reflective phrase 'there's a sense that owning one is a kind of milestone'.这是一个7.0分的回答,因为它用了自然的限定语'at least from what I notice around here',以及略带反思意味的表达'there's a sense that owning one is a kind of milestone'。

Yes, I'd say more people are definitely interested in buying cars these days, at least from what I notice around here. It feels like a new showroom opens on Nguyen Van Linh street every month or so. Just last week, for example, my colleague Minh told me he's saving for a small hatchback because he's tired of getting soaked on his motorbike during rainy season. Cars still aren't as common as motorbikes, but there's a sense that owning one is a kind of milestone now, maybe for comfort or status. Of course, rising traffic and parking issues make some people hesitant.

    • FCOf course, rising traffic and parking issues make some people hesitant. This closing concession adds a mild qualifying remark rather than a flat final statement, showing awareness of a counterpoint. A 6.5 answer would simply state 'Some people worry about traffic and parking' with no connecting nuance, while a 7.5 answer might phrase this concession even more idiomatically.这个结尾的让步补充了一句温和的限定性评论,而不是平淡的结论陈述,展现出对反面观点的意识。6.5分的回答只会简单地说'Some people worry about traffic and parking',没有任何连接上的细腻处理,而7.5分的回答可能会用更地道的方式来表达这个让步。
    • LRa kind of milestoneThis phrase is a moderately less common way of describing car ownership as a symbolic achievement, going beyond the plain 'big achievement'. A 6.5 answer would use that simpler phrase instead, while a 7.5 answer might extend the idea into a fuller image like 'a milestone people aspire to'.这个短语是一种相对不那么常见的表达方式,用来把拥有汽车描述为一种象征性的成就,超越了平实的'big achievement'。6.5分的回答会用那种更简单的说法,而7.5分的回答可能会把这个想法进一步扩展成更完整的意象,比如'a milestone people aspire to'。
    • GRAhe's tired of getting soaked on his motorbike during rainy seasonThis clause uses the idiomatic phrase 'tired of getting soaked' with a gerund complement, a more natural construction than the literal 'gets wet... when it rains a lot' seen at 6.5. A 7.5 answer would compress this further into a participial phrase like 'fed up with arriving soaked', while a 6.5 answer keeps the plain causal clause.这个分句使用了带动名词补语的地道短语'tired of getting soaked',是一种比6.5分回答中出现的字面表达'gets wet... when it rains a lot'更自然的结构。7.5分的回答会把它进一步压缩成分词短语,比如'fed up with arriving soaked',而6.5分的回答则保留了平实的因果分句。
    7.5 分

This reaches 7.5 through the vivid opening collocation 'a growing appetite for car ownership' and the compressed participial clause 'fed up with arriving at work soaked', which replaces a full subordinate clause.这个回答之所以能达到7.5分,是因为开头使用了生动的搭配'a growing appetite for car ownership',以及压缩后的分词分句'fed up with arriving at work soaked',取代了一个完整的从属分句。

There's definitely a growing appetite for car ownership these days — you can practically watch it happening, with a new showroom seeming to spring up along Nguyen Van Linh street every month. My colleague Minh, for one, is saving for a small hatchback, fed up with arriving at work soaked every time the rainy season ambushes his motorbike commute. Cars remain far less common than motorbikes, but owning one has taken on a certain status, a milestone people aspire to rather than a mere convenience. Rising traffic and parking headaches give some pause, admittedly, yet the overall trend is unmistakable.

    • FCRising traffic and parking headaches give some pause, admittedly, yet the overall trend is unmistakable. This closing sentence uses the parenthetical 'admittedly' and the evaluative word 'unmistakable' to give a confident, nuanced final judgement rather than a flat restatement. A 7.0 answer would close more simply with 'Of course, rising traffic and parking issues make some people hesitant', while a 6.5 answer would end even more plainly.这句结尾使用了插入语'admittedly'和评价性词语'unmistakable',给出了一个自信、有细腻层次的最终判断,而不是平淡的重申。7.0分的回答会更简单地以'Of course, rising traffic and parking issues make some people hesitant'收尾,而6.5分的回答则会以更平淡的方式结束。
    • LRa growing appetite for car ownershipThis is a vivid, less-common collocation personifying demand as an 'appetite', well beyond the plain 'interested in buying cars'. A 7.0 answer would use the safer phrasing 'definitely interested in buying cars', and a 6.5 answer would simply say 'want to buy cars'.这是一个生动、不太常见的搭配,把需求拟人化为一种'appetite'(胃口),远超平实的'interested in buying cars'。7.0分的回答会使用更保守的表达'definitely interested in buying cars',而6.5分的回答则只会说'want to buy cars'。
    • GRAfed up with arriving at work soaked every time the rainy season ambushes his motorbike commuteThis is a participial phrase ('fed up with...') standing in for a full clause, combined with the personified verb 'ambushes', showing flexible, compact grammar. A 7.0 answer would use a full subordinate clause with 'because he's tired of', and a 6.5 answer would use the plainer causal clause 'because he gets wet'.这是一个分词短语('fed up with...'),代替了一个完整的分句,并结合了拟人化的动词'ambushes',展现出灵活、紧凑的语法结构。7.0分的回答会用带'because he's tired of'的完整从属分句,而6.5分的回答则会用更平实的因果分句'because he gets wet'。

This is a 6.5 answer because the two halves of the comparison are simply placed side by side with the flat linking sentence 'In the countryside, it is different', with no deeper contrast drawn between them.这是一个6.5分的回答,因为两部分的对比只是简单地并列在一起,用了平淡的连接句'In the countryside, it is different',两者之间没有更深入的对比。

In cities like Da Nang, most people use motorbikes because they are fast and can move through traffic easily. I use my motorbike every day to go to my office. In the countryside, it is different. When I visited my aunt's village in Quang Nam last year, I saw that people mostly used bicycles or walked, especially for short trips to the fields or market. There is less public transport there, and cars are not common because the roads are narrow. So the way people travel depends on the place.

    在岘港这样的城市里,大多数人用摩托车,因为它速度快,而且能轻松穿过车流。我每天都骑摩托车去办公室。但在农村就不一样了。去年我去广南省的姨妈家时,我看到那里的人大多骑自行车或步行,尤其是去田地或市场这样的短途出行。那里公共交通也比较少,汽车也不常见,因为路很窄。所以人们的出行方式取决于所在的地方。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCSo the way people travel depends on the place. This closing sentence gives a plain, generic summary using the simple verb 'depends on' with no elaboration. A 7.0 answer would extend this idea with a hedge like 'honestly, the choice really depends on what's practical', while a 7.5 answer might reframe it as a more reflective observation about geography.这句结尾用简单的动词'depends on'给出了一个平淡、笼统的总结,没有进一步展开。7.0分的回答会用一个限定语来扩展这个想法,比如'honestly, the choice really depends on what's practical',而7.5分的回答可能会把它重新表述成一个关于地理因素更有反思性的观察。
    • LRfastThis is a single common adjective used to explain motorbike popularity, without any more vivid or specific word choice. A 7.0 answer would use the fuller phrase 'weave through traffic pretty easily', and a 7.5 answer might reach for an even more precise word like 'nimble'.这是一个用来解释摩托车受欢迎原因的单一常见形容词,没有使用更生动或更具体的词语。7.0分的回答会用更完整的短语'weave through traffic pretty easily',而7.5分的回答可能会选用更精确的词,比如'nimble'。
    • GRAI visited my aunt's village in Quang Nam last yearThis is a short, simple past-tense clause with no embedded subordination. A 7.0 answer would attach a participial phrase describing what was noticed, and a 7.5 answer would compress the whole idea into a single flexible sentence built around a gerund phrase.这是一个简短、简单的过去时分句,没有任何嵌入的从属结构。7.0分的回答会附加一个描述所见所闻的分词短语,而7.5分的回答会把整个想法压缩成一个围绕动名词短语构建的灵活单句。
    7.0 分

This is a 7.0 answer thanks to the natural spoken tag 'so honestly' in the closing line and a moderately complex sentence joining a causal clause with a contrastive one about narrow streets and parking.这是一个7.0分的回答,得益于结尾那句自然的口语标记'so honestly',以及一个把因果分句和关于狭窄街道、停车问题的对比分句结合起来的中等复杂句子。

These days, I'd say most people in cities like Da Nang mainly rely on motorbikes, since they're convenient and can weave through traffic pretty easily. Cars are becoming more popular too, especially for families, but with narrow streets and limited parking, two-wheelers still dominate. In the countryside, though, it's a bit different. When I visited my aunt's village near Quang Nam last year, I noticed people relied more on bicycles or just walking, especially for short trips to the fields or the local market. There are fewer public transport options out there, so honestly, the choice really depends on what's practical in each place.

    • FCso honestly, the choice really depends on what's practical in each place. The spoken filler 'honestly' inserted before the concluding claim gives the ending a natural, reflective tone rather than a flat statement. A 6.5 answer would end simply with 'So the way people travel depends on the place', while a 7.5 answer might reframe this as an observation about a deeper underlying cause.插入在结尾论断之前的口语填充词'honestly',让结尾带上一种自然、反思性的语气,而不是平淡的陈述。6.5分的回答会简单地以'So the way people travel depends on the place'收尾,而7.5分的回答可能会把这重新表述成一个关于更深层原因的观察。
    • LRweave through trafficThis phrase is a more natural, image-based collocation than the bare adjective 'fast' used at 6.5. A 7.5 answer would push this further with an even more precise word like 'thread through narrow streets', while a 6.5 answer manages only the plain adjective.这个短语是一种更自然、更具画面感的搭配,胜过6.5分回答中使用的光秃秃的形容词'fast'。7.5分的回答会用更精确的词进一步推进,比如'thread through narrow streets',而6.5分的回答则只能用那个平实的形容词。
    • GRAsince they're convenient and can weave through traffic pretty easilyThis clause combines a causal subordinator 'since' with a modal verb and an adverb, showing a moderately complex single sentence rather than two short separate ones. A 6.5 answer would split this into 'they are fast' and 'they can move through traffic easily' as separate sentences, while a 7.5 answer would compress it into a comparative relative clause.这个分句把表原因的从属连词'since'和一个情态动词及副词结合在一起,展现出一个中等复杂度的单句,而不是两个简短的独立句子。6.5分的回答会把这拆成'they are fast'和'they can move through traffic easily'两个独立句子,而7.5分的回答会把它压缩成一个比较性的关系分句。
    7.5 分

This reaches 7.5 through the vivid word 'nimble' and the closing evaluative insight 'geography, rather than preference, dictates the mode of travel', which reframes the whole comparison rather than just restating it.这个回答之所以能达到7.5分,是因为使用了生动的词'nimble',以及富有评价性的结尾洞见'geography, rather than preference, dictates the mode of travel',它重新构建了整个对比,而不只是简单地重申。

City travel here revolves almost entirely around the motorbike — nimble enough to thread through narrow streets and limited parking, which cars simply can't manage as gracefully. In the countryside, though, the picture shifts noticeably. Visiting my aunt's village near Quang Nam last year, I found people leaning on bicycles or their own two feet for short hops to the fields or the market, largely because public transport barely reaches that far and unpaved roads rule out most cars. What strikes me is how thoroughly geography, rather than preference, dictates the mode of travel.

    • FCWhat strikes me is how thoroughly geography, rather than preference, dictates the mode of travel. This closing sentence offers a genuine evaluative insight that reframes the entire comparison, going well beyond a simple restatement of the facts. A 7.0 answer would close with the plainer hedge 'so honestly, the choice really depends on what's practical', and a 6.5 answer would end even more flatly.这句结尾提供了一个真正具有评价性的洞见,重新构建了整个对比,远远超越了对事实的简单重申。7.0分的回答会用较为平淡的限定语'so honestly, the choice really depends on what's practical'来收尾,而6.5分的回答结尾则会更加平淡。
    • LRthread through narrow streetsThis is a precise, less-common verb choice ('thread') paired with a vivid image, more distinctive than the safer 'weave through traffic' used at 7.0. A 6.5 answer manages only the bare adjective 'fast' to describe the same idea.这是一个精确、不太常见的动词选择('thread'),搭配一个生动的意象,比7.0分回答中使用的较为保守的'weave through traffic'更具特色。6.5分的回答对同一个想法只能用光秃秃的形容词'fast'。
    • GRAnimble enough to thread through narrow streets and limited parking, which cars simply can't manage as gracefullyThis sentence uses a compact adjective-plus-infinitive structure followed by an embedded relative clause and a comparative adverb, packing several ideas into one flexible sentence. A 7.0 answer would use a simpler causal clause with 'since', and a 6.5 answer would keep two short separate sentences.这句话使用了一个紧凑的"形容词+不定式"结构,后面再接一个嵌入的关系分句和一个比较性副词,把多个想法打包进一个灵活的句子里。7.0分的回答会用一个带'since'的更简单的因果分句,而6.5分的回答则会保留两个简短的独立句子。

Yes, I agree that city planners often forget about pedestrians. For example, last month I walked with my friend Ha on Tran Phu street, and we saw broken pavement and motorbikes parked on the sidewalk. There was also no shade, so it was not a nice walk. Some newer areas by the river have better paths, but in most places walking is not easy. I think planners should build safer crossings, benches, and more green spaces for people who want to walk.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCYes, I agree that city planners often forget about pedestrians. This direct opening sentence gives the position plainly with the simple verb 'forget about', without any softening device. A 7.0 answer would open with a stronger spoken phrase like 'I'd definitely agree', while a 7.5 answer might use an idiomatic opener like 'I couldn't agree more'.这句直接的开头用简单的动词'forget about'平铺直叙地表明了立场,没有任何软化手段。7.0分的回答会用更强烈的口语短语开头,比如'I'd definitely agree',而7.5分的回答可能会用更地道的开头,比如'I couldn't agree more'。
    • LRnot a nice walkThis is a basic negated adjective phrase describing the experience, avoiding any more specific or vivid vocabulary. A 7.0 answer would use the fuller idiom 'pretty stressful', while a 7.5 answer might reach for something more distinctive like 'an obstacle course'.这是一个基础的否定形容词短语,用来描述这次经历,避开了任何更具体或生动的词汇。7.0分的回答会用更完整的习语'pretty stressful',而7.5分的回答可能会选用更有特色的表达,比如'an obstacle course'。
    • GRAwe saw broken pavement and motorbikes parked on the sidewalkThis clause lists two problems joined simply with 'and', in a plain coordinated structure. A 7.0 answer would extend this into a three-item list joined by commas, and a 7.5 answer would compress the list using participial phrases instead of finite verbs.这个分句用简单的'and'把两个问题列举在一起,是一种平实的并列结构。7.0分的回答会把这扩展成一个用逗号连接的三项列表,而7.5分的回答则会用分词短语代替限定动词来压缩这个列表。
    7.0 分

This is a 7.0 answer because of the reflective phrase 'It honestly turned what should've been a relaxing stroll into something pretty stressful', which adds a moderately complex evaluative sentence rather than a flat statement.这是一个7.0分的回答,因为反思性短语'It honestly turned what should've been a relaxing stroll into something pretty stressful'加入了一个中等复杂的评价性句子,而不是平淡的陈述。

I'd definitely agree that city planners often overlook what pedestrians actually need, at least from what I've seen here. Last month, for instance, I was walking along Tran Phu street with my friend Ha, and we kept running into broken pavement, scooters parked right on the sidewalk, and barely any shade. It honestly turned what should've been a relaxing stroll into something pretty stressful. To be fair, some newer riverside areas do have better paths, but once you leave those, walking feels like an afterthought. I really think planners should focus more on safe crossings, benches, and green spaces.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCIt honestly turned what should've been a relaxing stroll into something pretty stressful. This sentence reflects on the experience using a spoken intensifier 'honestly' and a contrast between expectation and reality, going beyond a simple description. A 6.5 answer would state this more flatly as 'it was not a nice walk', while a 7.5 answer might replace the whole idea with a punchier image like 'an obstacle course'.这句话用口语化的强调词'honestly'以及期待与现实之间的对比来反思这次经历,超越了单纯的描述。6.5分的回答会更平淡地陈述为'it was not a nice walk',而7.5分的回答可能会把整个想法替换成更有冲击力的意象,比如'an obstacle course'。
    • LRan afterthoughtThis is a moderately less common, slightly abstract noun used metaphorically to describe how walking is treated, more distinctive than a plain adjective. A 6.5 answer would simply say 'walking is not easy', while a 7.5 answer might extend the same idea into 'the neglect is obvious'.这是一个相对不那么常见、略带抽象色彩的名词,以隐喻的方式描述走路是如何被对待的,比一个平实的形容词更有特色。6.5分的回答只会简单地说'walking is not easy',而7.5分的回答可能会把同一个想法扩展成'the neglect is obvious'。
    • GRAwe kept running into broken pavement, scooters parked right on the sidewalk, and barely any shadeThis is a three-item parallel list joined by commas and a final 'and', each item phrased slightly differently (adjective, participle, adverb phrase), showing controlled variety. A 6.5 answer would only manage a two-item list joined by 'and', and a 7.5 answer would turn the list into participial phrases without repeating 'we saw'.这是一个用逗号和最后的'and'连接的三项并列列表,每一项的措辞都略有不同(形容词、分词、副词短语),展现出有控制力的多样性。6.5分的回答只能用'and'连接一个两项的列表,而7.5分的回答会把这个列表变成分词短语,不重复'we saw'。
    7.5 分

This reaches 7.5 through the idiomatic opener 'I couldn't agree more' and the vivid closing image 'turned into an obstacle course', which replaces a plain description with a sharper, more evaluative phrase.这个回答之所以能达到7.5分,是因为使用了地道的开头'I couldn't agree more',以及生动的结尾意象'turned into an obstacle course',用更犀利、更具评价性的表达取代了平淡的描述。

I couldn't agree more that pedestrians tend to be an afterthought in city planning here. Walking along Tran Phu street with my friend Ha last month, we found ourselves dodging broken pavement and scooters parked squarely across the sidewalk, with barely a scrap of shade to shelter under — what should've been a relaxing stroll turned into an obstacle course. Granted, the newer riverside stretches fare rather better, but step away from those and the neglect is obvious. Motorbikes and cars may dominate the roads, but planners, in my view, owe pedestrians safe crossings, benches, and genuine green space too.

    • FCGranted, the newer riverside stretches fare rather better, but step away from those and the neglect is obvious. The concessive opener 'Granted' followed by an imperative-style conditional clause shows a more compact, idiomatic way of conceding a point than a full 'To be fair... but' construction. A 7.0 answer would use exactly that fuller hedge, and a 6.5 answer would state the concession as a flat separate sentence.让步性的开头词'Granted',后面接一个类似祈使句的条件分句,展现出一种比完整的'To be fair... but'结构更紧凑、更地道的让步方式。7.0分的回答会用完全一样的那种更完整的限定语,而6.5分的回答则会把这个让步表述成一个平淡的独立句子。
    • LRan obstacle courseThis is a vivid, idiomatic metaphor describing the walking experience, considerably more distinctive than the safer 'pretty stressful' used at 7.0. A 6.5 answer manages only the plain phrase 'not a nice walk' for the same idea.这是一个生动、地道的隐喻,用来描述走路的经历,比7.0分回答中使用的较为保守的'pretty stressful'更有特色。6.5分的回答对同一个想法只能用平实的短语'not a nice walk'。
    • GRAwe found ourselves dodging broken pavement and scooters parked squarely across the sidewalk, with barely a scrap of shade to shelter underThis sentence uses a reflexive verb phrase, a participial construction, and a trailing prepositional phrase with an infinitive, compressing several ideas into one flexible sentence. A 7.0 answer would keep this as a three-item list with 'and', and a 6.5 answer would use only two short coordinated clauses.这句话使用了一个反身动词短语、一个分词结构,以及一个带不定式的尾随介词短语,把多个想法压缩进一个灵活的句子里。7.0分的回答会把这保留为一个用'and'连接的三项列表,而6.5分的回答则只会用两个简单的并列分句。

This answer is 6.5 level because of its simple cause-and-effect sentences and the plain closing statement 'So better roads and buses are important for a country', which just restates the obvious.这个回答是6.5分水平,因为它用了简单的因果句,而结尾的平淡陈述'So better roads and buses are important for a country'只是重申了显而易见的道理。

I think a bad transport system can really slow down a country's growth. For example, when I visited a small town near Quang Ngai last year, the roads were narrow and had many potholes, and the buses did not come on time. A short trip to the market took much longer than it should. My aunt, who lives there, often had to use her old motorbike even in bad weather. This kind of problem also affects students going to school and workers going to their jobs. So better roads and buses are important for a country.

    我觉得一个糟糕的交通系统真的会拖慢一个国家的发展。比如,去年我去广义附近的一个小镇时,那里道路狭窄,坑坑洼洼很多,公交车也不准时。去一趟市场花的时间比应该花的时间长得多。我住在那儿的姨妈,即使天气不好,也常常得骑她那辆旧摩托车。这种问题也影响到上学的学生和上班的工人。所以,更好的道路和公交车对一个国家来说很重要。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCSo better roads and buses are important for a country. This closing sentence is a flat, generic restatement using the basic connector 'So', without adding any new idea. A 7.0 answer would instead widen the point with 'Beyond just daily routines, this kind of situation affects...', and a 7.5 answer would close with a more evaluative remark about the wider payoff.这句结尾用基础连接词'So'做了一个平淡、笼统的重申,没有加入任何新想法。7.0分的回答会用'Beyond just daily routines, this kind of situation affects...'来拓宽这个观点,而7.5分的回答会以一句关于更广泛回报的评价性评论收尾。
    • LRslow downThis is a simple, common phrasal verb used to describe the general effect on growth, without any more specific or evocative word choice. A 7.0 answer would use the slightly stronger 'hold back', and a 7.5 answer might reach for a more vivid verb like 'throttles'.这是一个简单、常见的短语动词,用来描述对发展的总体影响,没有使用更具体或更生动的词语选择。7.0分的回答会用略强一些的'hold back',而7.5分的回答可能会选用更生动的动词,比如'throttles'。
    • GRAthe roads were narrow and had many potholes, and the buses did not come on timeThis sentence joins two simple clauses with 'and' in a basic coordinated structure, repeating the subject pattern plainly. A 7.0 answer would add a tag like 'if at all' for natural rhythm, and a 7.5 answer would compress this into a single noun phrase followed by a relative clause.这句话用'and'把两个简单分句连接在一起,是一种基础的并列结构,并且简单重复了主语模式。7.0分的回答会加上一个像'if at all'这样的附加语来增添自然的节奏感,而7.5分的回答则会把这压缩成一个名词短语后接关系分句。
    7.0 分

This is a 7.0 answer because of the natural tag 'if at all' after the main clause and the reflective closing remark 'but honestly, it pays off in the long run', which shows mild evaluation rather than a flat conclusion.这是一个7.0分的回答,因为主句后面自然的附加语'if at all',以及反思性的结尾评论'but honestly, it pays off in the long run',展现出温和的评价,而不是平淡的结论。

I think an unreliable transport system can genuinely hold back a country's growth and quality of life. For instance, when I visited a small town outside Quang Ngai last year, the roads were narrow and full of potholes, and the buses rarely arrived on time, if at all. A simple trip to the market ended up taking much longer than it should, and my aunt, who lives there, often had to rely on her old motorbike even in bad weather. Beyond just daily routines, this kind of situation affects students getting to school and workers reaching their jobs. Building better infrastructure takes time and money, but honestly, it pays off in the long run.

    • FCBeyond just daily routines, this kind of situation affects students getting to school and workers reaching their jobs. This sentence opens with a fronted prepositional phrase, 'Beyond just daily routines', to widen the scope of the discussion before listing further effects, a more fluent move than a plain 'This kind of problem also affects...'. A 6.5 answer would use exactly that flatter phrasing, while a 7.5 answer might replace the whole sentence with a compressed list of ripple effects.这句话以前置的介词短语'Beyond just daily routines'开头,在列举更多影响之前先拓宽了讨论的范围,这比平淡的'This kind of problem also affects...'更流畅。6.5分的回答会用那种更平淡的表述,而7.5分的回答可能会把整句话替换成一个压缩的连锁效应列表。
    • LRhold backThis phrasal verb is a moderately stronger, more natural choice than the plainer 'slow down' used at 6.5. A 7.5 answer would push further still with a more vivid verb like 'throttles', while a 6.5 answer manages only 'slow down'.这个短语动词是一个比6.5分回答中使用的更平实的'slow down'更强烈、更自然的选择。7.5分的回答会用更生动的动词进一步推进,比如'throttles',而6.5分的回答则只能用'slow down'。
    • GRAthe buses rarely arrived on time, if at allThe trailing tag 'if at all' added after the main clause is a natural spoken device for emphasis, more advanced than a plain negative statement. A 6.5 answer would simply say 'the buses did not come on time' with no such tag, and a 7.5 answer would build this idea into a longer relative clause instead.加在主句后面的尾随附加语'if at all'是一种自然的口语强调手段,比平淡的否定陈述更高级。6.5分的回答只会简单地说'the buses did not come on time',没有这样的附加语,而7.5分的回答则会把这个想法融入一个更长的关系分句中。
    7.5 分

This reaches 7.5 through the vivid opening verb 'quietly throttles' and the compressed closing list 'students struggling to reach school, workers arriving late, goods delivered behind schedule', which replaces full sentences with parallel fragments.这个回答之所以能达到7.5分,是因为开头使用了生动的动词'quietly throttles',以及压缩后的结尾列表'students struggling to reach school, workers arriving late, goods delivered behind schedule',用平行的片段取代了完整的句子。

A poorly functioning transport network, I'd argue, quietly throttles a country's growth and everyday quality of life. Visiting a small town outside Quang Ngai last year brought this home: potholed, narrow roads and buses that rarely kept to any schedule turned even a quick trip to the market into a small ordeal, leaving my aunt reliant on her ageing motorbike regardless of the weather. The knock-on effects ripple outward — students struggling to reach school, workers arriving late, goods delivered behind schedule. Infrastructure is expensive and slow to build, admittedly, but the payoff, from economic growth to sheer everyday sanity, is hard to overstate.

    • FCThe knock-on effects ripple outward — students struggling to reach school, workers arriving late, goods delivered behind schedule. This sentence uses a dash followed by three parallel participial fragments instead of full sentences, a compact and fluent way of listing consequences. A 7.0 answer would spell these out as two linked finite clauses joined by 'and', and a 6.5 answer would use two separate short sentences.这句话使用了一个破折号,后面接三个并列的分词片段,而不是完整的句子,这是一种紧凑、流畅地列举后果的方式。7.0分的回答会把这些拆成两个用'and'连接的限定分句,而6.5分的回答则会用两个独立的短句。
    • LRquietly throttlesThis is a vivid, less-common verb choice personifying the transport system's effect, well beyond the safer 'hold back' used at 7.0. A 6.5 answer manages only the basic phrasal verb 'slow down' for the same idea.这是一个生动、不太常见的动词选择,把交通系统的影响拟人化,远超7.0分回答中使用的较为保守的'hold back'。6.5分的回答对同一个想法只能用基础的短语动词'slow down'。
    • GRApotholed, narrow roads and buses that rarely kept to any schedule turned even a quick trip to the market into a small ordealThis sentence uses a compound subject with a relative clause ('that rarely kept to any schedule') and the evaluative noun phrase 'a small ordeal', packing description and consequence into one sentence. A 7.0 answer would split the description and result into two separate clauses joined by 'and', and a 6.5 answer would use even shorter, plainer sentences.这句话用了一个带关系分句('that rarely kept to any schedule')的复合主语,以及评价性的名词短语'a small ordeal',把描述和后果打包进一个句子里。7.0分的回答会把描述和结果拆成两个用'and'连接的分句,而6.5分的回答则会用更简短、更平实的句子。

This is a 6.5 answer because it uses plain description like 'saw many delivery trucks with smoke coming out' rather than more reflective or figurative language.这是一个6.5分的回答,因为它使用的是平实的描述,比如'saw many delivery trucks with smoke coming out',而不是更具反思性或比喻性的语言。

I mostly agree that vehicle pollution is one of the biggest problems for the environment now. In Da Nang, the air feels dusty on busy roads like Nguyen Van Linh, especially during rush hour with many motorbikes and cars. Last autumn, I took a Grab to the airport early in the morning and saw many delivery trucks with smoke coming out. You can even see a gray layer on windows and plants near busy roads. There are other causes too, like factories, but I think vehicles are the main reason for air pollution in the city.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCThere are other causes too, like factories, but I think vehicles are the main reason for air pollution in the city. This closing sentence uses the simple connector 'but' to state a conclusion directly, without any softer hedge. A 7.0 answer would open this concession with 'Of course', and a 7.5 answer would phrase the whole idea more idiomatically, such as 'vehicles are the pollution you can't avoid seeing'.这句结尾用简单的连接词'but'直接给出结论,没有任何更柔和的限定语。7.0分的回答会用'Of course'来开启这个让步,而7.5分的回答会把整个想法表达得更地道一些,比如'vehicles are the pollution you can't avoid seeing'。
    • LRsmoke coming outThis is a plain, literal description of exhaust, using everyday vocabulary rather than a more atmospheric or specific phrase. A 7.0 answer would use the more natural 'their exhaust hanging in the air', and a 7.5 answer might push further to something like 'trailing exhaust into the dawn air'.这是对尾气的平实、字面化描述,使用了日常词汇,而不是更有氛围感或更具体的表达。7.0分的回答会用更自然的'their exhaust hanging in the air',而7.5分的回答可能会更进一步,用类似'trailing exhaust into the dawn air'的表达。
    • GRAI took a Grab to the airport early in the morning and saw many delivery trucks with smoke coming outThis sentence coordinates two simple past-tense actions with 'and', in a plain sequential structure. A 7.0 answer would attach an absolute construction like 'their exhaust hanging in the air' instead of a second finite verb, and a 7.5 answer would use a participial phrase for even tighter compression.这句话用'and'把两个简单的过去时动作并列起来,是一种平实的顺序结构。7.0分的回答会用一个像'their exhaust hanging in the air'这样的独立结构来代替第二个限定动词,而7.5分的回答则会用分词短语实现更紧凑的压缩。

I'd say I mostly agree that vehicle pollution is one of the biggest threats to the environment nowadays, though it's probably not the only cause. In Da Nang, for example, the air feels noticeably heavier along main roads like Nguyen Van Linh, especially during rush hour when thousands of motorbikes and cars crowd the streets. Last autumn, I took a Grab to the airport early in the morning and was surprised by how many delivery trucks were already out, their exhaust hanging in the air. You can actually see a thin gray layer building up on windows and plants near busy intersections. Of course, factories and burning trash play a role too, but from what I see day to day, vehicles seem like the main cause.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCOf course, factories and burning trash play a role too, but from what I see day to dayThis concession opens with the natural hedge 'Of course' before returning to the personal claim, showing balanced, spoken-style reasoning. A 6.5 answer would state the same concession more flatly with just 'but', while a 7.5 answer might replace it with the more idiomatic 'undoubtedly contribute'.这个让步以自然的限定语'Of course'开头,然后回到个人观点,展现出平衡的、口语化的推理方式。6.5分的回答会用更平淡的方式表达同样的让步,只用'but',而7.5分的回答可能会换成更地道的'undoubtedly contribute'。
    • LRhanging in the airThis is a more atmospheric, natural collocation describing exhaust than the plain 'smoke coming out' used at 6.5. A 7.5 answer would extend the image further with something like 'trailing exhaust into the dawn air', showing even more vivid description.这是一个比6.5分回答中使用的平实的'smoke coming out'更有氛围感、更自然的搭配,用来描述尾气。7.5分的回答会用类似'trailing exhaust into the dawn air'的表达进一步拓展这个意象,展现出更生动的描写。
    • GRAwas surprised by how many delivery trucks were already out, their exhaust hanging in the airThis sentence uses an absolute construction, 'their exhaust hanging in the air', attached without a repeated subject or finite verb, showing more flexible grammar than a simple coordinated clause. A 6.5 answer would instead add a second finite verb joined by 'and', and a 7.5 answer would turn the whole idea into a fronted participial phrase.这句话使用了一个独立结构'their exhaust hanging in the air',不重复主语也不用限定动词就直接附加上去,展现出比简单并列分句更灵活的语法。6.5分的回答会改为加上第二个由'and'连接的限定动词,而7.5分的回答则会把整个想法变成一个前置的分词短语。

I'm largely on board with the idea that vehicle emissions do the most visible damage to the environment, even if they're not acting alone. Along Da Nang's busier arteries like Nguyen Van Linh, the air turns noticeably heavier during rush hour, thick with the exhaust of thousands of motorbikes and cars. Catching an early Grab to the airport last autumn, I was struck by how many delivery trucks were already crawling through the streets, trailing exhaust into the dawn air, and you can practically watch a thin grey film settle onto windows and roadside plants near busy intersections. Factories and burning rubbish undoubtedly contribute, but day to day, vehicles are the pollution you can't avoid seeing.

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCFactories and burning rubbish undoubtedly contribute, but day to day, vehicles are the pollution you can't avoid seeing. This closing sentence uses the adverb 'undoubtedly' and the vivid relative clause 'the pollution you can't avoid seeing' to give a confident, image-based final judgement. A 7.0 answer would close more plainly with 'vehicles seem like the main cause', while a 6.5 answer would end with the simplest version of the same idea.这句结尾使用了副词'undoubtedly'和生动的关系分句'the pollution you can't avoid seeing',给出了一个自信、有画面感的最终判断。7.0分的回答会更平淡地以'vehicles seem like the main cause'收尾,而6.5分的回答则会用同一想法中最平淡的版本收尾。

A 6.5 answer manages only the basic description 'feels dusty' for the same idea.这是一个生动、不太常见的搭配,用来描述空气质量,比7.0分回答中使用的较为平实的'noticeably heavier'更有特色。6.5分的回答对同一个想法只能用基础的描述'feels dusty'。
    • GRAtrailing exhaust into the dawn air, and you can practically watch a thin grey film settle onto windows and roadside plantsThis sentence uses a participial phrase ('trailing exhaust...') attached to the previous clause, followed by a vivid verb phrase 'watch...settle onto', showing compact and flexible sentence-building. No, I don't think governments are doing enough yet. In Da Nang, there are new bicycle lanes near the beach, but they just stop at every junction. There is also an electric bus, but it only has one route. The government still gives cheap fuel and builds roads for cars instead of trains. To do enough, they need cheap buses, full bicycle lanes, and places to charge electric vehicles. Some cities have done this well, but most places, including mine, have only made small promises so far.

    不,我觉得政府做得还不够。在岘港,海边附近有新的自行车道,但它们在每个路口就断开了。也有一条电动巴士线路,但只有一条线。政府依然提供便宜的燃油,还在为汽车修路,而不是修建铁路。要做到足够,他们需要便宜的公交车、完整连贯的自行车道,以及给电动车充电的地方。有些城市在这方面做得不错,但大多数地方,包括我住的地方,目前都只做出了一些小小的承诺。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCNo, I don't think governments are doing enough yet. This is a short, direct opinion sentence with no hedge or spoken filler, typical of a 6.5 opening. A 7.0 answer would soften this with 'Honestly, I'd say it's a start, but nowhere near enough', while a 7.5 answer might open with an even more compressed idiomatic judgement.这是一个简短、直接的观点句,没有任何限定语或口语填充词,是6.5分开头的典型特征。7.0分的回答会用'Honestly, I'd say it's a start, but nowhere near enough'来软化这句话,而7.5分的回答可能会用更精炼、更地道的判断开头。
    • LRsmall promisesThis is a plain, generic noun phrase describing government action, without any more vivid or specific term. A 7.0 answer would use the fuller phrase 'the gestures exist without much of a real system', and a 7.5 answer might compress this into 'gestures, essentially, without the system behind them'.这是一个平实、笼统的名词短语,用来描述政府的行动,没有使用更生动或更具体的词语。7.0分的回答会用更完整的短语'the gestures exist without much of a real system',而7.5分的回答可能会把它压缩成'gestures, essentially, without the system behind them'。
    • GRAThere is also an electric bus, but it only has one route. This is a short, simple sentence joined by 'but' in a plain contrastive structure. A 7.0 answer would embed this detail inside a longer sentence using 'plus', and a 7.5 answer would compress it into an appositive noun phrase without a separate finite clause.这是一个用'but'连接的简短、简单的对比句。7.0分的回答会用'plus'把这个细节嵌入一个更长的句子里,而7.5分的回答则会把它压缩成一个同位名词短语,不用单独的限定分句。
    7.0 分

This is a 7.0 answer because of the natural spoken opener 'Honestly, I'd say it's a start, but nowhere near enough', which frames the whole response with a mild qualifying judgement.这是一个7.0分的回答,因为它用自然的口语开头'Honestly, I'd say it's a start, but nowhere near enough'为整个回答定下基调,带有温和的限定性判断。

Honestly, I'd say it's a start, but nowhere near enough. Da Nang has painted bicycle lanes along the beach road that just end abruptly at every junction, plus an electric-bus trial that only runs a single route, so the gestures exist without much of a real system behind them. Governments here still subsidise fuel and build ring roads before metros, which sort of tells you where the priority actually lies. What would genuinely count as enough is cheap, frequent buses, continuous cycle lanes, and charging points, alongside making driving a private car just a bit less convenient. A few cities have managed it, but most, mine included, are still at the announcement stage.

    • FCwhich sort of tells you where the priority actually liesThis trailing relative clause adds an informal, reflective aside using the spoken filler 'sort of', going beyond a plain factual statement. A 6.5 answer would simply state the fact about subsidising fuel with no such commentary, while a 7.5 answer might replace this aside with a sharper evaluative remark.这个尾随的关系分句用口语化的填充词'sort of'加入了一句非正式的反思性附言,超越了单纯的事实陈述。6.5分的回答只会简单陈述关于补贴燃油的事实,不会有这种评论,而7.5分的回答可能会用更犀利的评价性评论取代这句附言。
    • LRgestures exist without much of a real systemThis phrase is a moderately abstract, evaluative collocation describing token effort, more distinctive than the plain 'small promises' used at 6.5. A 7.5 answer would compress this further into the tighter phrase 'gestures, essentially, without the system behind them'.这个短语是一个相对抽象、带评价色彩的搭配,用来描述形式化的努力,比6.5分回答中使用的平实的'small promises'更有特色。7.5分的回答会把它进一步压缩成更紧凑的短语'gestures, essentially, without the system behind them'。
    • GRAso the gestures exist without much of a real system behind themThis is a result clause introduced by 'so', following on from a list joined by 'plus', showing a moderately complex single sentence rather than several short ones. A 6.5 answer would present the same ideas as two or three separate short sentences, while a 7.5 answer would drop the connector and use a verbless appositive instead.这是一个由'so'引导的结果分句,紧接在一个用'plus'连接的列表之后,展现出一个中等复杂的单句,而不是几个简短的句子。6.5分的回答会把这些想法表述成两三个独立的短句,而7.5分的回答则会去掉连接词,改用一个不带动词的同位语。
    7.5 分

This reaches 7.5 through the compact opening fragment 'Barely scratching the surface, I'd say' and the verbless appositive 'gestures, essentially, without the system behind them', both replacing full sentences with tighter constructions.这个回答之所以能达到7.5分,是因为开头使用了紧凑的片段'Barely scratching the surface, I'd say',以及不带动词的同位语'gestures, essentially, without the system behind them',二者都用更紧凑的结构取代了完整的句子。

Barely scratching the surface, I'd say. Da Nang has painted bicycle lanes along the beach road that end abruptly at every junction, and an electric-bus trial confined to a single route — gestures, essentially, without the system behind them. Governments here still subsidise fuel, prioritise ring roads over metros, and treat public transport as a fallback for people who can't afford a vehicle rather than a genuine alternative. What would actually count as enough is cheap, frequent buses, uninterrupted cycle lanes, ample charging infrastructure, and nudging private cars into being marginally less convenient than the alternatives. A handful of cities have pulled it off, and their air quality shows it; most, mine included, are still deliberating.

    • FCBarely scratching the surface, I'd say. This opening is a compact idiomatic fragment functioning as a full judgement, rather than a complete grammatical sentence, a distinctively fluent and confident opening move. A 7.0 answer would open with the fuller 'Honestly, I'd say it's a start, but nowhere near enough', and a 6.5 answer would use the plainest possible opener, 'No, I don't think governments are doing enough yet'.这个开头是一个紧凑、地道的片段,充当了一个完整的判断,而不是一个语法完整的句子,是一种极具流畅感和自信感的开场方式。7.0分的回答会用更完整的'Honestly, I'd say it's a start, but nowhere near enough'开头,而6.5分的回答则会用最平实的开头,'No, I don't think governments are doing enough yet'。
    • LRnudging private cars into being marginally less convenientThis is a vivid, idiomatic verb choice, 'nudging', paired with a precise gerund construction, more distinctive than the safer phrasing used at lower bands. A 6.5 answer manages only the plain phrase 'making driving less convenient' if it attempts this idea at all.这是一个生动、地道的动词选择'nudging',搭配一个精确的动名词结构,比低分回答中使用的较为保守的表达更有特色。6.5分的回答如果尝试表达这个想法,也只能用平实的短语'making driving less convenient'。
    • GRAgestures, essentially, without the system behind themThis is a verbless appositive fragment standing in for a full clause, a compact and confident structure. A 7.0 answer would use the fuller finite clause 'so the gestures exist without much of a real system behind them', and a 6.5 answer would present this as a separate, simple sentence.这是一个不带动词的同位语片段,代替了一个完整的分句,是一种紧凑、自信的结构。7.0分的回答会用更完整的限定分句'so the gestures exist without much of a real system behind them',而6.5分的回答则会把这表述成一个独立的简单句子。

    6.5 分

This is a 6.5 answer because of its short conditional sentence structure, 'If more people used electric scooters..., the air in the city would be cleaner', stated plainly without further nuance.这是一个6.5分的回答,因为它的条件句结构简短,'If more people used electric scooters..., the air in the city would be cleaner',表述得很平淡,没有进一步的细腻处理。

Yes, I think travel habits really need to change to protect the environment. For example, last month I used a shared electric scooter to go to a cafe on Nguyen Van Linh street instead of my motorbike. It was quiet and did not produce any smoke. If more people used electric scooters or bikes for short trips, the air in the city would be cleaner, especially during rush hour. It might be hard for people who live far away, but for short trips in the city, it is a good change. I think new technology can help protect the environment.

    是的,我认为出行习惯真的需要改变,以保护环境。比如,上个月我用共享电动滑板车代替摩托车,去了阮文灵街的一家咖啡馆。它很安静,也不会产生烟雾。如果更多人为短途出行使用电动滑板车或自行车,城市的空气会更干净,尤其是在高峰时段。对于住得远的人来说可能会比较难,但对于城市里的短途出行来说,这是一个不错的改变。我认为新技术可以帮助保护环境。

    为什么是这个分数

    • FCYes, I think travel habits really need to change to protect the environment. This opening sentence states the position directly with a simple modal verb 'need to', without any spoken hedge. A 7.0 answer would add the intensifier 'honestly' and the phrase 'quite a bit', while a 7.5 answer might open with a stronger claim about the shift needing to be 'fairly dramatic'.这句开头用简单的情态动词'need to'直接表明立场,没有任何口语化的限定语。7.0分的回答会加入强调词'honestly'和短语'quite a bit',而7.5分的回答可能会以关于变革需要"相当剧烈"的更强烈论断开头。
    • LRdid not produce any smokeThis is a plain negative description using basic vocabulary, avoiding any more specific or technical term. A 7.0 answer would use the more precise 'produced zero exhaust', and a 7.5 answer might compress this into the adjective 'exhaust-free'.这是一个平实的否定描述,使用了基础词汇,避开了任何更具体或更专业的术语。7.0分的回答会用更精确的'produced zero exhaust',而7.5分的回答可能会把这压缩成形容词'exhaust-free'。
    • GRAIt might be hard for people who live far away, but for short trips in the city, it is a good change. This sentence joins two ideas with the simple connector 'but' in a plain contrastive structure. A 7.0 answer would introduce this concession with 'Of course, it might not be realistic for...', and a 7.5 answer would use the more idiomatic 'a harder sell' instead of 'hard'.这句话用简单的连接词'but'把两个想法连接在一起,是一种平实的对比结构。7.0分的回答会用'Of course, it might not be realistic for...'来引出这个让步,而7.5分的回答则会用更地道的'a harder sell'来代替'hard'。
    7.0 分

This is a 7.0 answer because of the natural intensifier 'honestly' right after 'Yes' and the added compound predicate 'it felt surprisingly convenient, plus it was much quieter', which shows a little more sentence flexibility than a plain list.这是一个7.0分的回答,因为在'Yes'之后紧接着用了自然的强调词'honestly',并加入了复合谓语'it felt surprisingly convenient, plus it was much quieter',比平淡的罗列展现出更多的句子灵活性。

Yes, I honestly think travel habits need to shift quite a bit if we want to cut down on environmental damage. For instance, last month I rode a shared electric scooter to a cafe on Nguyen Van Linh street instead of taking my motorbike, and it felt surprisingly convenient, plus it was much quieter and produced zero exhaust. If more people switched to electric scooters or bikes for short trips, the city air would probably be noticeably cleaner, especially during rush hour. Of course, it might not be realistic for people commuting from the outskirts, but for short city journeys, it seems like a genuinely practical step.

    • FCOf course, it might not be realistic for people commuting from the outskirtsThis concession opens with the natural hedge 'Of course' before qualifying the main claim, a more fluent move than a bare 'but' clause. A 6.5 answer would state the same idea with just 'but', while a 7.5 answer might replace this with the more idiomatic 'a harder sell'.这个让步以自然的限定语'Of course'开头,再对主要论断加以限定,比单纯用'but'的分句更流畅。6.5分的回答只会用'but'表达同样的想法,而7.5分的回答可能会用更地道的'a harder sell'来代替。
    • LRproduced zero exhaustThis phrase uses the slightly more precise and technical 'zero exhaust' rather than the plain 'did not produce any smoke' used at 6.5. A 7.5 answer would compress this further into the adjective 'exhaust-free'.这个短语使用了更精确、略带专业色彩的'zero exhaust',而不是6.5分回答中使用的平实的'did not produce any smoke'。7.5分的回答会把这进一步压缩成形容词'exhaust-free'。
    • GRAit felt surprisingly convenient, plus it was much quieter and produced zero exhaustThis sentence uses the informal connector 'plus' to add a second observation onto the first within the same breath, a natural spoken construction. A 6.5 answer would present these as two separate short sentences, and a 7.5 answer would use a participial opening instead of a finite verb here.这句话使用非正式连接词'plus'在同一口气中把第二个观察加到第一个上,是一种自然的口语结构。6.5分的回答会把这些表述成两个独立的短句,而7.5分的回答则会在这里用分词开头,而不是用限定动词。
    7.5 分

This reaches 7.5 through the fronted participial opener 'Swapping my motorbike for a shared electric scooter...' and the compressed adjective 'exhaust-free', both replacing plainer full-clause constructions.这个回答之所以能达到7.5分,是因为使用了前置的分词开头'Swapping my motorbike for a shared electric scooter...',以及压缩后的形容词'exhaust-free',二者都取代了更平淡的完整分句结构。

Yes, and I'd argue the shift needs to be fairly dramatic if environmental damage is to be meaningfully reduced. Swapping my motorbike for a shared electric scooter on a trip to a cafe on Nguyen Van Linh street last month, I was struck by how quiet and exhaust-free the whole ride felt. Multiply that across a city's worth of short trips, and rush-hour air quality would improve noticeably. Granted, it's a harder sell for anyone commuting in from the outskirts, where distance makes electric bikes impractical, but for short city journeys it's a genuinely viable fix. Rethinking these daily habits, alongside embracing the technology itself, strikes me as essential for anything resembling sustainability.

    • FCGranted, it's a harder sell for anyone commuting in from the outskirtsThe concessive opener 'Granted' is a more compact, idiomatic way of conceding a point than the fuller 'Of course, it might not be realistic for...' used at 7.0. A 6.5 answer would state this concession with the plainest possible connector, 'but'.让步性的开头词'Granted'是一种比7.0分回答中使用的更完整的'Of course, it might not be realistic for...'更紧凑、更地道的让步方式。6.5分的回答会用最平实的连接词'but'来表达这个让步。
    • LRexhaust-freeThis compressed compound adjective is a more precise, less-common lexical choice than the fuller phrase 'produced zero exhaust' used at 7.0. A 6.5 answer manages only the basic negative description 'did not produce any smoke'.这个压缩后的复合形容词是一个比7.0分回答中使用的更完整的短语'produced zero exhaust'更精确、更不常见的词汇选择。6.5分的回答对同一想法只能用基础的否定描述'did not produce any smoke'。
    • GRASwapping my motorbike for a shared electric scooter on a trip to a cafe on Nguyen Van Linh street last month, I was struck by how quietThis sentence opens with a fronted participial clause replacing a full 'When I rode...' construction, showing flexible, compact grammar. A 7.0 answer would keep the plainer structure 'last month I rode a shared electric scooter... and it felt', and a 6.5 answer would use an even simpler 'For example, last month I used...' opening.这句话以一个前置的分词分句开头,取代了完整的'When I rode...'结构,展现出灵活、紧凑的语法。7.0分的回答会保留更平实的结构'last month I rode a shared electric scooter... and it felt',而6.5分的回答则会用更简单的开头'For example, last month I used...'。
